Gute has my approval thus far. I think much more than Thompson, he realizes the special player that he has in Rodgers, and the need to take advantage of his window, and retain his interest in playing. Should be an interesting remainder of the off-season.

The Packers need to be aggressive with teams like Frisco and Minny on the rise with new QB additions. NFC teams are loading up.

With all these high level FA CB off the board. Who is left?
This was posted maybe 15 posts an hour or two before you asked. In response to the same friggin query. Reading comprehension not your strong suit?
Joseph, Robinson, Gaines, Melvin, DRC, Claiborne, Carrie, Fuller, Amukamara to name a few
After free agency and the draft, I can see the Vikings as one of the top 3 teams picked to win the Super Bowl.
Vikings almost ALWAYS win the off season. That is why they have such a large SB trophy collection.

If we had a GM who signs every FA, resigns all our stud FAs, and every draft pick is a HOF player, people would still find something to ***** about.

How about just not letting go our second most valuable WR, keeping our least valuable WR for the same price, and spending money on our strongest position group to get a guy who just played himself out of a mediocre franchise?

Gute is being active and I love it. By trading Randall and cutting Nelson, Gutekunst made our offense waaay more versatile while also creating a strong and hungry dline. Furthermore I completely disagree with your statement that Nelson is more valuable than Cobb. Unfortunately Nelson surely is regressing, while Cobb is still somewhat youthful. Now I’d still like to see a midtier CB signed, but then I’d feel very confident going into this draft.

Which is our strongest position group? TE or 5T?

A CB that doesn't get a lot of conversation is 27 year old Ross Cockrell. I wanted him last year and he ended up signing with the Giants for a meager $1.1 M. He had a pretty decent year with the Giants and PFF game him a grade of 81.6, which is considered "above average" by his standards. Not sure if he would fit into what Pettine is planning on running, but if he does, bring him in for an interview.

A secondary of Cockrell and Dix, well let the conversation and jokes begin! :coffee:

At this point if might be some Mo and Cockrell time, the cupboards are pretty bare at CB.

I've been advocating for the Packers to sign Claiborne for awhile now all the way back to last year. He is an upgrade over Randall. Probably in the 8 mill per year price range too which fits the budget.

Wait, we have a budget? Oh hell, I didn't read that memo :)

Yeah 15 mill for Trumaine Johnson probably would of shattered it. Lol. He good but as has been posted not 15 mill good. Mo Wilkerson could turn out to be the steal of free agency. I really like how Gute has gone about this.

The Mo signing actually shocked me, I had a feeling the Packers might have a shot at Graham, if they cut Jordy or Cobb. Mo must have liked what the Packers were offering and the chance to work with Pettine again. If Pettine being the DC was one of the factors in his decision, that is a good sign for the future IMO.

My very general overview 36 hours into the free agency ferenzy:

Every team besides the Chiefs and the Browns in the AFC have gotten worse
Every team besides the cowboys, giants and lions in the NFC have gotten better

Does that about sum up the last 36 hours?
