It hurt not having MVS last night though hard to tell if ARod would have had the time. And Amari Rodgers is still a question mark. Didn't show anything this year but... Lazard's catch was a good one and I think a first down. ARod should have been looking for him every once in awhile imho. He was so intent on watching Adams. And he did not have a lot of time to do anything else. A costly mistake for ARod because there were at least two defenders on Adams all the time. But as someone else said, that has been the MO all along.
At least Amari didn't muff a kick... ;)

LaFleur owns this...way over his head. Rodgers is gone....probably in SF to finish career with a real organization. GB fans are about to understand what's it's like to be a Lion/Bear fan.
If Jimmy G and the 49ers win it all you have to wonder if they would want to make a change there next year.

Honestly, many would argue MLF system works better when you don’t have a Adams type guy that deserves the offense to run through. It works best when multiple facets are being used and attacked with. It’s why we’ve seen him succeed when Adams is out over the years.

Now for some that would read this as advocating we are better off without Rodgers and Adams - absolutely not saying that, but clearly this approach continues to fail…and we may end up getting to see a different approach because of this.
Excellent post. It would be insane to continue down the same road expecting different end results. The time to change course is upon us in my opinion.

Rodgers is not a FA so unless we trade him or he retires he will be playing for us in 2022.
Correct, but that doesn't stop him from retiring or forcing a trade. It also doesn't stop the Packers from trading him either.

DUDS- ST
Big Dog- that fumble just killed any chance of putting them away early.
Aaron Jones- wtf was he thinking after catching that wheel route? His first cut was inside. Run as fast as you can as far as you can along the sideline so that you get tackled out of bounds. He gets at least another 5 yards and we keep our timeout which completely changes the play calling in that last half a minute of the half.
Just to be clear I love those 2 guys, but they killed us yesterday.
I did not read anybody elses posts so I do not know if this was previously mentioned.

true, but how do you think brady would look in a game that's 10 degrees with 1 WR and no TE worth a crap and an Oline, good or bad, playing like ours did last night (specifically at the tackle position)?
probably like he did against the Saints.

Everyone saw Special Teams failure to execute on FG, Punt, Punt Returns and KO Returns. No playmaker(s) , no blocking, tackling atrocious, out of position and lousy blocking. Offense failed to execute,OC/HC did not make adjustments and decided to focus on D.Adams, TE/WR Failure to get open, to catch the ball when they had the chance or hold onto the ball, blocking was mediocre from a patched together line (Bahktiari sp?) would not have been a difference maker. Rodgers was "off" and took too many sacks, seemed to play less aggressively than normal and AJD was missed late in game. D came to play and did a really great job holding 49's to 6 points. Question? Is this team in a situation where they have to "re-build" ? ARod, Adams and some others need new contracts, without them this team IS definitely in re-build mode; with them maybe some new coaches and need for more playmakers (WR, TE, OL all need help).

The best way for any team to beat the Packers is to rattle Rodgers. He gets flustered and starts making mistakes that the other teams capitalize on.

that's the best way to beat any team. Other than trying to force that one into double coverage near the end to Adams, I don't think Rodgers really made too many mistakes. A lesser QB would have had 3,4+ turnovers between fumbles and INT's last night. All things considered, it certainly wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Likely better than most of you seem to be giving credit for.

So what your saying is putting him with a Brady or Mahonnes would not boost their chances of a SB win
No, what he's saying is Adams will not take a team that isn't a super bowl contender and make them one. Will he help a team? Heck yeah. but WR's don't impact the game that way. Rodgers would make a team a super bowl contender by joining them. Adams on his own? not a chance.

I dont get why Rodgers keeps trying to cram the Square peg into the round hole. In these playoff losses he never takes what the defense gives him and just auto locks on Adams everytime. I am surprised that hasnt resulted in more INTS.

Maybe this offseason we should focus on getting a receiving corps that's better top to bottom through the draft and free agency if we do find some way to keep Rodgers and most of the current roster intact?

I am not sure if just letting Adams and 1 or 2 other main players leave (along with most of the current receivers) would solve our cap problems this year though, plus some of the money would have to be spent on the new receivers.

I would only say we should do this if we are not looking at a major rebuild and/or Rodgers stays.

ok.

he has a better Oline, 3 better receivers, a TE that looks like he comes from another planet vs what Rodgers gets to work with. A RB that is at least even with what we have. You think Brady plays with less? WHo's nut
Take your homer glasses off man.

The 49ers were the Number 3 Overall D in the NFL this season for a reason, so I get that we weren't going to score 30 points tonight.

But AR, should have made more plays in general. That's what "winners" (in the playoffs at least) do.
You are correct. I think so many fear what will happen without AR at QB here. No doubt the special teams were horrendous, but the fact remains the MVP and future HOF signal caller did not play well enough for his team to advance, regardless of how crappy the special teams were! If you would have asked any of the fans what would happen if the Packers special teams were responsible for allowing a blocked field goal which kept 3 points off the board and also allowed a blocked punt for a touchdown resulting in 7 for the Niners and that the Niners ended up with 13 points for the game, what percentage do you think would say the Packers lost - I say not even 10% say the Packers lose that game. Regardless how you look at it, to lose when the other team scores 13 - with this QB, leading this offense is inexcusable.

MLF is taking all the blame for the loss but I still have not heard of a ST firing yet, I’m going to get a lot of heat but! If MLF can’t get it done this up coming season then its time to move on from him, finding a good coach to come to GB will not be difficult

Twitter is having fun with this:

Everyone stop making fun of Aaron Rodgers, he hates being needled.

Fun fact: Aaron Rodgers isn’t immunized against another playoff loss vs the 49ers.

AARON RODGERS GOT HIS ASS CANCELLED FROM THE PLAYOFFS

We all thought Aaron Rodgers had a shot, which has happened before

Aaron Rodgers’ playoff run thwarted by snowflakes, cancel culture strikes again

Congratulations to Jimmy Garoppolo on replacing Dr Fauci as Aaron Rodgers’ least favorite Italian
