This is easily the biggest dud of the game. You have a 250 lb 2nd round pick who gets 4 yards basically at will and you won’t use him. Inexplicable.
I'm telling you, man. LaFleur has been off way too much this season in the red zone. I have no idea how to explain the reasoning tonight.

I want to here MLF explanation of that BS goal line offense, and wasted TO’s from him and Rodgers, you have Derrick Henrys Brother on the sidelines, feed that Beast
The highest conversion play in football is the QB sneak and nothing else is even close. Anything within a yard you sneak, and within a foot or so there should be no debate what so ever. This hold particularly true on 4th down. I cringe every time I see any team not sneak it in situations like 4th and less then a yard.

As long as we keep winning until they figure it out. Rest of the game plan was pretty good I thought.
I agree that the overall game plan making lots of use of Dillon and Jones was huge.

Studs: Defense. The DL and the linebackers were playing really well. Douglas also played lights out. I saw a few mistakes but overall they were aggresive, but also tackling well. Really wrapping the player up. The team had 3 takeaways total and the best one was on the last play of the game.
They didn't seem to be playing as aggresive in the 2nd half or else people were missing their assignments.

Offense: Rodgers, Cobb, Dillion, Jones and Tonyan (sure hope he didn't tear an ACL). I thought that Dillion stepped up in a big way. He was making several yards every time he got the ball. I was a little frustrated with the play calling both times they were in the 'gold' zone and didn't come away with the TD. Dilion was pretty hot and I thought that he had more of a chance getting the ball in for a TD,

Most of the talking heads didn't give us a chance. And if I'm honest I was rather doubtful. I just wanted to see them play well then see how it turned out. Well I guess it turned out pretty well. Because WE WON!!!!:laugh:

Studs:

AJ Dillon - ran with authority, made all the difference with keeping AZ off the field.

Randall Cobb - had a nice game with some clutch receptions.

oline - did a great job with run blocking and winning at the point of attack.

Bojorquez - cannon for a leg made an impact on this game.

Duds:

Summers - pick up the ball and score a TD on the punt fumble.

Time out management / abandoning Dillon on goaline sets. pathetically bad.

Prevent Defensive calling in the 4th quarter - seldomly do you see a D go from stout to diarrhea.

I truly thought this one would be a beat down and AZ would administer it. Loved the ball control to keep their offense off the field, and the defense played super up until they decided to back off the secondary. Might be the luckiest W of all time.

WOW! High caliber performance despite the red zone blunder late in the game. Aaron had confidence in his receivers and the running game was amazing. And seeing Cobb perform as if he never left was the icing on the cake. Also D went on that field to play the game and didn't give up. Great game. One for the ages!

I am going to give the refs a dud too they had absolutely no evidence to overturn that TD
I disagree. When seen from the goal line cam you could see the ball break the plane at the very end of Jones' extension as his upper body was laid out parallel to the ground. When shown from behind you could see when his *** hit the ground his upper body was still fairly upright. There was not one single view to overturn it but when looked at together it was pretty clear to me that he was down. It won't be a popular view with Packer fans but I think they got it right.

I said it in the shoutbox thread…. that was worse than Carrol in the Superbowl against NE… I don’t think Dillon had a single carry for a loss (from memory… haven’t checked the actual stats). How do you not use him at the goal line??

Amos post game talking about how much it helped to have Jerry Gray in Barry’s absence.

Gee, who could have ever thought such a thing?

Thoughts @captainWIMM ?

He was turning -1 into +4.

The only thing I can imagine is that they don’t trust his ball security or they think using him there telegraphs the play.

Disagree on the Summers thing. He probably had no idea how much room he had so his first intinct is to fall on the ball and make the recovery. I can't fault him for that at all. I've seen too many times where someone tries to pick up the ball and ends up losing it. Once he had it recovered though it did appear he may have had time to regain his composure and advance it. That is if he could. Do they still have the **** thing and the rule where you can't advance it. I think that would have applied in this case if it is still around.

Studs: Rodgers (he did not have a lot of time), Cobb (what a catch), Dillon, Aaron Jones, Winfree, though he had a bad drop
The Defense, Rasul Douglas, D line (Containing Murray), Jerry Gray (I like the way he calls em)
Dud: time-outs (almost cost the game)

comment: the Defense is just better when Barnes plays. They are tougher. Reminds me of the Super Bowl year and Bishop. He did not have a stud game but everything is more physical out there imho.

And he did not know the ball was touched. He was downing it and you can't do that in the endzone.

CLOCK MANAGEMENT: This was terrible. I have no idea what Lafleur/Rodgers were thinking on that last drive before halftime. All you needed was another 10-15 yards or so and give Crosby a shot at a long field goal. Better than whatever happened. And then the constant waste of time outs, leading to the stupid delay of game on the goaline.

Not running it on the one-inch line. The running game has been carrying you the whole time. Give it to Jones or Dillon.
Clock management - especially the play clock - has been an issue for us. This has been something I've complained about forever. For some reason we squander more time outs because the play clock is winding down. It almost burned us big time tonight.

We just beat an undefeated football team on the road without Davante Adams, Jaire Alexander, David Bakhtiari, Josh Myers, Allen Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Z'Darius Smith.

We will get 5 of those 7 back. At least.
If I were the rest of the league and witnessed this with all of our guys out I'd be a tad concerned.

We would never know if they would have done that since they were called on delay of game that cost them five yards because of whoever was still in motion.

But a smart play nonetheless. I think one of the Pack players was telling him to move but then when he realized what was going on a Bird was on top of him.
