I really REALLY hope this isn't true,...because of ALL people he should know what happens when the ego becomes bigger than the game.
i'm trying to decide if Rodgers failed to learn from Favre, or if what happened with Favre has made him paranoid.

Or maybe they really do want to jettison him after this season, but the front office wants to paint Rodgers as the bad guy to take the heat off of them. Maybe they've been gaslighting him, he seems like he'd be a prime candidate for it.

How would what happen with Favre make him paranoid? Favre openly "Retired" and TT and company was sick of his retirement drama and moved on to Rodgers.

I dont get any of this at all. He is becoming a worst diva than Favre could ever be. If all of this is true makes me have a super low opinion of him, throwing a toddler temper tantrum because the team is planning a future when he does retire.

Lol'd at worse diva than Farve.

Some of you fans on here are pro-team which is 100% understandable, I however am pro player. Rodgers doesn't owe to anyone beside Rodgers. Why is that? Because the Packers have made it very clear they are only looking out for the Packers. They want to have their cake and eat it to. This is a business and Rodgers has countered what happened last year with the draft, and I'm assuming the Bleacher Report hit job, and other management issues about as PERFECTLY as you can both on and off the field

Sorry, I root for the Packers, I don't care what number the star player is wearing. I just want him to be a Packer.

At the end of the day, this stuff about Aaron not being given talent is nonsense. ALSO... for all those out there talking about how brady was catered to... Brady spent the last 10 years GIVING BACK $$$ to build a team.

At the end of the day, he is an old qb. He more than MOST should know you must draft and develop.

No one is bigger than the team. Period. I actually respect the organization MORE for not caving to this bullsh*t.

Let him sit until june, then swing him for any value he has.

I am a fan Of The Green bay Packers not Aaron Rodgers. The FO is looking to remain competitive after Rodgers and not go 20+ years of being crap again.

Ah but see, I believe this assumption is wrong. Especially because if Rodgers continues playing well for another four years or so, Love isn't likely to want to wait that long to see the field. Hence the feeling is the plan of the Packers FO wasn't to wait until Rodgers was ready to retire but try and nudge him out the door on their own time.

The team has been dog chit at drafting positions of need for basically a decade. They've marginally improved drafting on the defensive end the past couple drafts so good for them..... they then proceeded to have arguably our worst draft in 20 years last year

This whole thinking that you just typed is why we only have 2 SBs with top 10 talent instead of being NE or Pit of the NFC. Sad how fans like yourself can't see it

If the Packers continue to draft like they have for basically the past decade, and we have just an average QB behind center... we are going to go 20+ years of being crap again

No one knows what the next season will bring. If I was the FO I would had a sit down with him and said we are drafting QB in first round if the guy we like falls to us. You have our word you are still the starting QB. This is an insurance policy just in case if something were to happen.

If Rodgers stays on top great, we can trade Love to get good draft picks.

Since the start of the 2000s the NFC only produced two teams that have won multiple SBs during that time. NY Giants and The Bucs....

With this past decade, Saints only went to one, Seattle went to two with one win, Philly went to one... The Pats have are such an exception is crazy how well they performed.

Shows you how terrible the FO has been in regards to "only" being able to get to 1SB when we've had the 2nd greatest QB of this era. There is no spin you can possibly make that shows the previous regime and now this one have chit the bed

Its hard to win a Super Bowl, yes the FO deserves part of the blame but at the end of the day there can only be one winner.

Raise your hand if you think that Aaron Rodgers makes any team he is traded to a lock to take that team to their Conference Championship 2 years in a row.

Didnt packers beat them and they havent been back as long as the packers?

And they been to one afccg since then and lost.

Packers been back 3 times? And back to back

You need to get to the nfccg to get to the SB. The talent has been there, but I think some players caved under the pressure

Why haven't they been back? They've basically competed for AFC supremacy every year since Tomlin has been at the helm and the reason why is because Big Ben isn't quite Rodgers or Brady.

They have however given him weapons and a defense HIS ENTIRE CAREER. Same CANNOT be said about Rodgers. Hell even in Big Bens waning years they still want him around. Rodgers is a MVP and they are hesitant to commit to him. Laughable

Its hard to win a Super Bowl, yes the FO deserves part of the blame but at the end of the day there can only be one winner.

It is hard to win a SB, and the FO has shot itself in the foot and wasted many opportunities because they've been terrible at certain aspects of their jobs.

For as good a job as Gute has done drafting past few years (he helped erase a lot of the mistakes that TT had) he destroyed that positive value by that entire draft from last year.

Part of the major issue is the Packers FO were content for years with MM, content for years with Capers. Content for years to not go "all in" on a few players to get over the hump.. but would rather whiff consistently on draft picks

Why can't fans like this understand that football in real life isn't football on xbox?

You have to draft players to develop. You have to use a cap to build a team. You have to account for depth, future contracts, dead cap $$$, etc.

Most look to the Packers as an example of how you build a team for a generation. Not for an "all in" shot, but to consistently be there to win.

I'm not sure what you are comparing the Packers to, but over that same time frame, what team is this head and shoulder example you would build off of?

We have 2 championships, outside the pats, who else would you trade places with?!?

If your example is "why aren't we better than arguably the greatest franchise in modern sports", then it holds little weight with me.

did you forget about the 100 million up front on services not yet rendered? some of you would bury a startup before it ever signed a lease

Okay Ivan. You should probably look at how superstars expect to be treated today...or just beat them over the head with the "I have the power" stick and watch them all hate your organization
