talk about a ridiculously pedantic argument...... I agree with you more than I don't ... but really?
The fumble honestly probably should have been blown dead. The Lions were already in FG range when they 'fumbled'.

Here were their drive results tonight:

TD
Missed FG
TD
FG
Fumble
FG
TD
FG

Not only did they not force a punt, they did not succeed in keeping them out of FG range on a single drive.

I know you can find the silver lining with the best of them, but come on. The defense sucked. That's the point. What is the purpose of arguing semantics of just how much they sucked?

Good points. You guys win this one.

This defense is garbage and has been for a long time now. We have the players but the schemes are horrible.

I highly doubt the Packers have enough talent on the defensive side of the ball to field a successful unit.

Also, I've found Randall a bright spot this season. Since his benching, he's stepped it up.

Randall might have improved since being benched early this season but still gave up a touchdown vs. the Lions.

Jones made a gaff or to I don’t understand why Mm pulled him was he injured?

I don't believe Jones was injured but was pulled because he was ineffective and struggled in pass protection.

Here's the scary thing. Well, 2 things really.

2 - We won the turnover battle. By 2. We are protecting the ball and still getting pummeled. We turned the old adage of winning the turnover battle being key on its head. We should have given up much more than 30. That's scary.

FWIW the Lions only turned the ball over once.

Obviously these aren't the '85 Bears, but they have more talent to be better than what Capers is getting out of them IMO.

As I've said repeatedly there's no way to truly figure it out as long as the Packers hold on to both Thompson and Capers.

It’s really not a talent issue that I see. It’s lack of fire and enthusiasm....that was the whole game. This team has no fire and so walking on the field and Going through the motions is all they seem to care about...It’s the coaches job to get the team up for a game and ready and confidently come in to win. That’s what’s lacking here.... everyone of you can see that I’m sure

The TD was more a great play by the WR and Stafford than a bad one by Randall.

If we had scored that TD, we'd be talking about how it was a good play, not about how the DB gave it up

We are now seeing The Emperor without his clothes and it's a real ugly sight.
No wonder why we don't get to a Super Bowl and I don't think we ever will.
McMoron doesn't want to change and neither does Capers.
With Tweedle-Dumb and Tweedle-Dumber both in charge, I expect us to keep on having great seasons but lousy play off losses.
For some that is enough.
For me, it isn't.

I think I want McCarthy gone too, but do we go after an offensive or defensive minded head coach? I know the league is mostly hiring qb whisperers/offensive guys but I feel like hiring a defensive guy may work out good. I have no idea who that guy is, but once this team bring a good defensive coach (even just a coordinator), I'll be excited. Until then it'll be the same old crap.

And media, spare me with the 'If Mike McCarthy were fired today he'd be hired in 10 seconds because he is a great coach' crap. Tbh I blame him for Lacy getting hurt last year in the Dallas game as he was obviously injured. Not to say fat Eddie would have gotten us past Atlanta, but maybe the season is different if they didn't have to start Don Jackson and other hot garbage during midseason last year.

Maybe we can get a top 5 draft pick..... The Pack will not win another game with the bad defense, bad play calling and QB play. ITS OVER! Big Changes needed....Rodgers was the Glue and the Pack have fallen apart.

To me the most impressive play was kicking the FG as time expired to end the first half

I hold the following as "painfully obvious":
  • Without Aaron Rodgers, the Packers will be "extremely lucky" to win two more games this season.
  • If not for Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre, Mike McCarthy would be considered no better than a below average head coach.
  • If John Gruden can so easily and accurately predict Dom Caper's defensive scheme and game plan, so can every other coach on the planet.
  • We have reason to expect better performance in all aspects of the game particularly after a solid week of rest and recuperation.
  • A no better than mediocre Detroit Lions team just marched into Lambeau Field and beat the Packer's *** in every aspect of the game, without having to punt even one time. What would happen if the Packers played the Eagles or the Patriots?
  • I'll probably never see another Packer Super Bowl victory in my lifetime. They've squandered the career of one of the greatest QBs of all time.
I'm so mad (and disappointed) I can hardly see. I really do believe that Packers fans and the people of Green Bay (and all of Wisconsin) deserve better than this.

Somebody talk me off the ledge.

NFL playoffs are a tournament.... anyone can get hot and win it if they squeek in (as we proved). Becomes more wide open when Brady hangs it up making Belechik start over (unless he leaves at the same time). If Rogers plays 5 more years I'd say we have a 30% chance.

I didn't know if I should go with 'Agree' because it's true or 'Funny' because it's funny. If there was a 'Cry' that would have been under consideration as well.

Most coaches are considered below average until the team has a good QB.

While it's definitely true it was a great throw by Stafford and a terrific catch by Jones there are cornerbacks around the league breaking up that play. Unfortunately the Packers don't have such a player though.

The season isn't over as there are still eight games left to play, all of which I will enjoy watching. I don't consider the Packers to have a chance of making the playoffs though.

You state my reason for saying that the '70s and '80s weren't as bad as some feel much more succinctly than I do. :) Expectations lowered, now let's see if they can make some noise.
