Jets have some decent WR's as well as TE's. I think if they trade for Rodgers, they better be careful bringing "his guys" in, if they don't necessarily improve the team. Good way to ruin locker room chemistry right out of the gate.

Lazard and Cobb wouldn't start in NY, nor would Tonyan.

Only real pass catcher they have is Garrett Wilson...corey davis is average at best, elijah moore has potential but clearly theres something going in their between him and the coaches. Mims looks like tarazan plays like jane. I guess breece hall when he gets healthy. None of the tight ends are impressive at all

If the Jets get Rodgers they better also get him some real weapons

Well, none of his ex-teamates, that people are saying he might want (Cobb, Toyan and Lazard), would be considered real weapons in my book.

which is why I’d be fine if they went with him lol.
Agree. I don't see any of those guys, except maybe Crosby and Tonyan, back in GB, unless Rodgers is back and its part of his "compensation" package to resign them. I would only bring those 2 guys back if the money made sense. I believe Crosby is still a reliable kicker but wouldn't overpay him. Tonyan would be a decent vet to have on the roster, especially if it is rookies that the Packers will be filling that position with, but again, the money would have to make sense.

But, they would be considered upgrades over what the Jets currently have. Lazard would be their 2nd best wr, Tonyan their best TE and Cobb their 3rd or 4th best wr

Obviously their value is inhanced by their relationships wirh Rodgers

You said that the Jets would want to get Rodgers some "real weapons". I don't consider Lazard, Cobb and Tonyan to be in that category. Where they fall in the Jets depth chart doesn't really matter to me, they aren't players I would consider signing, if I was looking for weapons.

Oh that was in addition to the ex packer contingent...but like I said I do consider those 3 better than most of what the Jets currently have.

I do consider those 3 players, guys you could win a championship with as key role players.

The they better get him some real weapons was more of a comment to the fact that if you're getting Rodgers and you have no weapons, you're wasting him

Well, much like the Packers saw last season, if you don't have enough weapons on offense, you are totally relying on a QB to do everything. Of course we had AJ and Dillion, but even those 2 running backs couldn't pick up the slack like Adams did. I had no problem with the Packers bringing Cobb back, but the reliance on him, Sammy Watkins, Lazard, Amari Rodgers and 3 rookies at WR, as well as a below average TE room, turned out to be a really bad move by Gute IMO.

I am not going to pretend to know the Jets roster. However, just a quick scan of their WR room, I would say they need one more high quality starter at WR at minimum. So if the Jets get Rodgers, they would be wiser to only sign those guys that Rodgers point blank says "I will play for you, but these are the conditions." After that, go out and sign a higher end FA WR.

Who is a FA & worthy of signing by the Jets?? Thielen, Chark, Agholor, Marvin Jones? Does Julio Jones or AJ Green have anything left?

They had a rep at OBJ's workout. We know what Aaron thought about OBJ.

I also think that between now and Sept. a decent FA or 2 will become available.

We'll have to wait until noon for the McAfee podcast for AR to "break" the news. ;)
That's the whole thing

Aaron wants to announce it.. Trey Wingo knows and let it out .. Rest of the media doesn't want to "upset" aaron so they say, no it isnt done yet

Called this...only way to be 100% right is if a Corey Davis release news is broke soon as well as he saves them like $11M in 2023 cap

We all know Rodgers has named specific players that are part of the discussions of the future. He has mentioned on multiple occasions to this effect; Lazard, Cobb, Tonyan and Crosby.

Honestly, once he is traded to the Jets (think it is a matter of when and for what not IF) I think we will see at minimum 2 of the following 5 players also be there: Bakhtiari, Lazard, Cobb, Tonyan and Crosby.
Baktiarhi isnt going.. Best bet is Lewis. He was with Hackett in Jax? And GB

Seems a no-brainer from NYJ's perspective. Save $10.5Mil on the cap, Lazard is equal if not better than Davis both blocking & contested-catch ability and has a much better injury-history. Jets probably need to grab another developmental WR in rounds 5-7 so maybe part of the AR deal is we'll get their #112 & give them #235 and/or #242?

They may want to keep Davis, thinking he'll have a year similar to his 2020 season with a real qb. But 11m would be tempting to me to the point I would definitely cut him and use that money to aquire someone I had more confidence in. Like Chris Godwin or Mike Evans

When Rodgers didn't appear on the show last Tuesday, I kind of figured that he would want to wait until the show today. Pat will have a huge audience, Rodgers can joke/brag about giving a friend a lot of business and then have center stage to placate his fan base and flatulate his own ego, with all the thought that he and he alone put into his decision.
