That division alone is a *****. Then you’re talking Super Bowl contender? Nah. Thanks for the fleece job NY
Jets a SB contender? Nah. The Chiefs, Bills, Bengals and possibly the Chargers, Dolphins and Ravens should be better than the Jets. I think I saw that the Jets have the 8th toughest schedule and that probably has a lot to do with who is in their division, as well as having to play the NFC East and AFC South.

Nope not really, he is however IMO the most capable veteran but most importantly easily expendable as a cap casualty for a team that is out there from my research. Just so happened he was on the Jets as well given the connection of the Rodgers deal is all.
No see I’ll tell you why you’re wrong why we should get him. Love will play like Bo Jackson in Techmo Bowl, rewrite the record book, be in the Packers HOF by year 8. Then after our 2nd 3 peat they’ll build a statue outside the Atrium of his likeness. Book it!

I've always liked Corey Davis, but not at $10.5M for 1 year. Now if he is willing to redo that for a "prove myself" 2 year deal at $5Mper w/ incentives, then maybe give up that 6th rounder for him. That said, might be better to just wait until the Jets release him, since his dead cap is "only" $666K, but odds of him wanting to sign with GB?

Gute didn't refill the cupboard with premium goodies that was the issue. When MLF came and in his rookie season they made a deep playoff run and instead of going after Jefferson they traded up to get Jordan Love the writing was on the wall. The Packers have been planning years ahead/trying to rebuild on the fly. The top priority has not been win a Super Bowl. The proof is in the specific moves they've made in the last 3 years to stay competitive but not sell out/go over the top to compete, which in many folks' eyes would have meant go get an additional stud wideout to pair with Adams. I mean, to rub it in all our faces they TRADED Davante away!

The Jets would be wise to get former Packers offensive skill players and pair them with guys like Mecole Hardman Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, because that would be getting Aaron the best of both worlds-vets that know his scheme/audibles/standards of execution along with younger talent with speed and explosiveness so Rodgers can gunsling with the other hotshots in the conference.

Gute has turned over a regime, and it's finally complete with trading away Rodgers. But technically it's not as if Aaron had no one to play with, they just didn't give him enough to get that additional championship as a Packer-but in a way that was not accidental. Gute didn't want to mortgage the future for a guy he was hired to play bad cop with, and ultimately move on from...
They went after Jefferson and was shot down

Wish people would pay attention to news all the time and not just whe convient

Even a suggestion they are SB contenders is laughable

Which is why I said:

I'm going to say it...I believe the Jets are going to be the most over-hyped team of the year. While I think A-Rod no doubt improves them, I don't think enough to win their division and probably a 3rd place finish in that division at that.

What does convient mean? I wish people paid attention in school and not when it was convient
See ya

Spelling Mistakes and Typos:
If anyone here ever has an issue with how someone types, spells, or using the wrong word, for instance:

Receiving core and not receiving corp (we had to lay this out perfectly because some posters were confused)

Please do not point out the mistakes in the forum. Send that person a pm please. You're going to open up a whole mess that no one wants to deal with. Be respectful of the person and not embarrass them in front of their fellow Packer and NFL fans.

Honestly, this will probably not be a winning season for us (big deal if it isn't), but then again, last season wasn't. I love AR, but I was sooo tired of the drama around him. Now that everyone can focus on everything else and we look at everything else that needs fixing (and if JL is a part of that). Nonetheless, like always, let's hope for a good season.

While that is a good point (the opponents they face are tough) I think you are underestimating the Jets. Last year they split games with the Bills and Dolphins 2-2. They actually lost twice to New England, but both were lower, 1-score losses. IMO Rodgers would’ve split those games across the board at minimum. 8 contests were played by 2 different backup QB’s that averaged 16.12 points per contest. The Teams Passer rating was 75.0% as a whole! That finished #32 ranked in the league!

The Jets had the 29th rated Offense last season and still won 7 contests with 2 backup QB’s playing 8 of those games. Wilson had 2 contests where he didn’t put up 93 yards passing! Eek!

The Jets don’t need to be a top 10 Offense to make the playoffs. I honestly think they will go playoff bound if they just crack a top #20 Offense. As it stands the Jets are a 9-10 Win team tripping through the door. If they add more firepower that number will climb.

I think that significant subtraction of veterans is a lot more likely than key additions.

They're -10.5M on the cap this year right now in effective space and they have a rookie class to sign. Corey Davis won't be on that roster in all likelihood, making his top three receivers Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, and Mecole Hardman.
IMO that is better than GBs top 3 receivers.

If angry, chip on his shoulder Aaron Rodgers shows up in New York they are absolutely Super Bowl contenders. If indifferent, distracted Aaron Rodgers shows up they will be lucky to make the playoffs. But I think they get the former and not the latter. I'm sure AR wants to stick it to Murphy and does not want to be Jets Favre 2.0.

IMO that is better than GBs top 3 receivers.

It almost certainly is.

Their pass catchers are better.

Their offensive coaches are worse.

Their offensive line may be worse.

With hall coming off the ACL, their backfield may be worse.

Totally appropriate headline:

Aaron Rodgers Retires From Professional Football To Play With The Jets

NEW YORK, NY — Legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has officially signed with the New York Jets, confirming his retirement from professional football.

"You have to know when to walk away," said Rodgers. "I'm excited to put on a New York Jets jersey, and leave pro football in the rearview mirror."
