Aaaaaand AB is a Patriot. $15 million with a $9 million signing bonus.

Gotta give him credit working the system to get out of Oakland and to the Super Bowl favorites.

I think you are giving this idiot far more credit then he deserves. Sure, he might get a chance to play for a team of his choice, but that choice is going to be very limited and no way will the money be equal to what he just left on the table in Oakland.

This wasn't a calculated move on his part, it was just him being Antonio Brown.
Whatcha think now? :roflmao:

Actually if you believe this he got paid zero dollars and tanked the value of his next contract on the "hope" that a contender will be willing to give him a one year deal on the cheap.

I dont think BB touches him with a ten foot pole. Maybe Dorsey in Cleveland does but that's just asking for trouble. "Maybe" a team like the Jaguars.

Contenders just arent going to line up to be a part of this circus act. Truthfully I'm not going to be surprised if he doesnt play a snap for an NFL team this year

If AB completely tanked his value to go to a contender he's a moron. Contending teams arent going to be lining up for this circus even in a cheap one year deal. (also the money didnt cloud his judgement when he was about to be a Bill and he torpedoed that trade). You're giving him way more credit then he deserves

And Gruden will see every single dollar of that 100 million dollar deal. It's simply his contract. If you think hes going to get fired after year 4 good luck. The team isnt going to pay him 50 million dollars to sit at home.

As for him becoming a Packer that is a big ole hell ******* no. We have a very young 1st time HC that doesnt need a guy like AB poisoning the well.

I'll trust Ryan Clark and his assessment that AB is a garbage human being over the off the wall assumption that all this bat **** crazy from him is just an act

Yeah KC and NE keep getting thrown around but that's just cause everyone thinks the Pat's will scoop anyone up and KC dont care. I dont think either team will want anything to do with him and I cant imagine Dorsey being willing to throw AB in a locker room next to OBJ

Calling it now. The market for AB is going to be ALOT dryer then people think. And by that i mean only one or two non contending teams will offer him a cheap deal

NE won't play that **** with Brown, and they have the winning history to back them up. Besides we've seen them do it with Moss. I can see AB joining on a vet deal. KC I can see them doing it because Andy Reid wants to win so badly and we've seen Reid take risks like this before. And do I need to explain Dallas? This has them written all over it. I'd give 48 hours before Brown is picked up by someone.

These certainly didn't age too well.

I'm still offering my services in case you guys ever want to play the lotto....

And the Patriots play the Steelers Week 1? GENIUS.

I get he probably won't play, but if I were BB I'd trot him out to the coin toss in uniform with Brady as a finger to them and the rest of the league.

Apparently Belichick doesn't read enough message boards with ppl telling him that Brown isn't worth it. Patriots now have the best WR group in the NFL and two of them are guys that some argued shouldn't be signed at all.

So it cost AB about $15M?

Lets see how long he lasts in NE.

They just gave him $15m with a $9m signing bonus. He's sticking around. It's kind of amazing how well Bill can work with supposed problem players when he's more interested in winning than proving he has more "power" than the players.

The hell do you mean? I called that ****! XD

Matter of fact I demand likes because everyone was saying how no one was going to pick him up and I said he was going to either NE, KC, or Dallas!

I WANT MY CREDIT DAMMIT! Throw me some likes people! :p :laugh::laugh:

i pretty much guarantee with how fast the deal was done and the team we're talking about that there was some under-the-table chatter going on

There definitely seems like their was some tampering, although New England will deny it. I kinda figured this would happen. Oakland and Steelers fans are PISSED!

if he goes through a season without causing problems
people will call BB a genius again
but in reality, naw, AB just faked some BS to get booted to the team of his choice

with everything that happened last year on a team heading to the playoffs and this offseason, I can't see how anybody is declaring anything at this point. I remember when Gordon was going to light it up too. how about we just wait and see?

He was slated to make just over $15 mil this year.

He would have made just over $15 mil this year. Now he can make up to that this year and is a FA next year. But look at the receivers Brady has now. Brown, Thomas, Edelman and Gordon. BB is a warlock.

I mean it's not like AB couldn't tell Rosenhaus to "slip" a little Birdie to Foxborough.

Anyone else besides me feel like this was planned?

Sure, but it still required knowing beforehand that Mayock was gonna be a moron more interested in proving his power over actually working with a historically great WR like Brown.

All it required was NE having the cap room on hand and is there ANY doubt who Brown’s agent’s first call was? First last and only. It’ll be fun to see if this works out. So AB goes from a HORRIBLE situation to a GREAT situation apparently not losing a dime this season(?). Any doubt he’ll command a monster contract after a year with TB?.... I have little ... Give Belichek the credit he deserves

I think this circus has been perfectly orchestrated by AB. I think he never wanted to play for Oakland, so he's acting a fool to get released. He'll then go to the team he wants, and then show out. Let's be honest, there are probably several teams he could have gotten traded to, but I moderately believe that Pittsburgh sent him to Oakland to die(career wise) The last thing they wanted is to run up against him in the AFC Playoffs and denied a Super Bowl appearance. It might seem petty, but he got $1M to essentially workout and stay in shape just so he could move on to a contender. Genius.
yup. he did what he had to do to get released and play where he wanted. now he'll be the perfect gentleman.

I still think Mayock handled this about as poorly as possible and was trying to prove his power over AB rather than just working with his best player behind the scenes. How much you think the Cowboys fined Zeke for missing camp? It's very unusual for teams to actually fine great players and then not forgive those fines when they report; and, outside of not showing to training camp, what football stuff did he really screw up? He hurt his feet and made a fuss over his helmet so he could probably sign a marketing deal with a new helmet company. Yeah, he's probably ecstatic to be with a great team, but Belichick has shown time and again that he's willing to deal with character issue, diva players if those players are worth it (Revis, Moss, Gronk, and now Brown). If the best coach/GM in NFL history is willing to work with those guys, it should tell you that those guys are worth it.

Not everyone is Belichick though. And he didn’t start dealing with those problem players until he won three Super Bowls to build up that cache.

Not everyone can rein players in like that.
