He actually receives nothing if cut per a Spotrac tweet. If he attended at least 85% of the offseason workouts he would have received the bonuses but he didn’t. They said if he is cut before the first game he gets $0.

I think this circus has been perfectly orchestrated by AB. I think he never wanted to play for Oakland, so he's acting a fool to get released. He'll then go to the team he wants, and then show out. Let's be honest, there are probably several teams he could have gotten traded to, but I moderately believe that Pittsburgh sent him to Oakland to die(career wise) The last thing they wanted is to run up against him in the AFC Playoffs and denied a Super Bowl appearance. It might seem petty, but he got $1M to essentially workout and stay in shape just so he could move on to a contender. Genius.

Just my opinion, but I think this is reading a method into what is really just madness.

Brown is acting like he's using. I would bank on rumors in the near future that there is a substance abuse issue exacerbating an already unstable personality.

Dante’s, for sure something is amiss. Whether substance abuse or some mental illness, this is very strange. I am worried for this young man.

Sometimes "mental illness" is treated with prescriptions that make a person worse, not better.

The "substance abuse" might be money gone to his head. Take a big ego and an equally big chip on the shoulder, a predisposition toward flakiness, add performance pressure given the circumstances of his signing and a new "face of the franchise" status, pile a bunch of money on top, stir thoroughly then bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Voila! An upside down cake.

Does he smoke pot? I wouldn't doubt it. But so do a lot of other guys who don't find their way to a meltdown.

Now, the field may be his refuge, his one place of mental clarity. He could put up another Pro Bowl season. But at what cost? And if he doesn't get the targets he expects, or Carr does not deliver them in the way he expects, watch out.

Actually if you believe this he got paid zero dollars and tanked the value of his next contract on the "hope" that a contender will be willing to give him a one year deal on the cheap.

I dont think BB touches him with a ten foot pole. Maybe Dorsey in Cleveland does but that's just asking for trouble. "Maybe" a team like the Jaguars.

Contenders just arent going to line up to be a part of this circus act. Truthfully I'm not going to be surprised if he doesnt play a snap for an NFL team this year

At this point I would think Brandon Marshall would be worth a visit to GB, if his knee is right, an experienced backup at a cheap price would be a nice addition or insurance policy for this season

I hope you're joking

Not at all. At this point teams have all the leverage. I'm sure he'll get multiple offers, but at the same time they're probably going to be all 1 year vet min/prove it deals. He's probably only going to consider teams that he believes can contend and/or have a top QB. Based on Thurday's game, we should have both. But for a paltry $1M, with maybe some incentives thrown in so that he can produce, it's a great risk/reward idea. He produces, maybe we make a Super Bowl appearance, we might be out $4-$7M. He doesn't and/or ends up jettisoned from the roster, we lost $1M. I'm game.

This is all based on my claim that AB is doing this all on purpose. I think the money clouded his judgement, and then it hit him that he was traded to The Raiders. Can anyone agree that Gruden probably won't make it to see even half of that $100M contract and Mayock is likely going to be commentating the 2023 NFL Draft? The Raiders as far as I'm concerned are still a dumpster fire and the majority of veteran players around the league know it.

I'd also like to give a big shoutout to Steeler's GM Kevin Colbert, he just finessed Mike Mayock. He got a 3rd (Diontae Johnson) and a 5th Round pick(Zach Gentry) just for AB to play for somebody else. Genius.

What if all of this was an elaborate plot to force the Raiders to release him, so that he could ultimately have his pick of the litter of teams to sign with? Not saying he isn’t deranged and selfish, but I don’t think he’s stupid either. I don’t think he was ever that crazy about being a Raider to begin with.

You're not the first person to think that this was some elaborate scheme on his part just to get out of Oakland. But what confuses me is that the dude was a FA and he was the one that chose to go there. It wouldn't surprise me if he ended up on NE or KC. I can see one of them picking him up on a vet deal. Brown would never try that **** with someone like Brady and Belichick.

I have a bad feeling that he might end up in Dallas. It's either them, NE, or KC.

If AB completely tanked his value to go to a contender he's a moron. Contending teams arent going to be lining up for this circus even in a cheap one year deal. (also the money didnt cloud his judgement when he was about to be a Bill and he torpedoed that trade). You're giving him way more credit then he deserves

And Gruden will see every single dollar of that 100 million dollar deal. It's simply his contract. If you think hes going to get fired after year 4 good luck. The team isnt going to pay him 50 million dollars to sit at home.

As for him becoming a Packer that is a big ole hell ****ing no. We have a very young 1st time HC that doesnt need a guy like AB poisoning the well.

I'll trust Ryan Clark and his assessment that AB is a garbage human being over the off the wall assumption that all this bat **** crazy from him is just an act

I doubt that's a consideration after trading for Goodson.

NE having Gordon and Brown on the Same team? Or the Chiefs with Hill and Brown? Those are recipes for disaster! I’m interested in seeing how this all plays out

Yeah KC and NE keep getting thrown around but that's just cause everyone thinks the Pat's will scoop anyone up and KC dont care. I dont think either team will want anything to do with him and I cant imagine Dorsey being willing to throw AB in a locker room next to OBJ

Calling it now. The market for AB is going to be ALOT dryer then people think. And by that i mean only one or two non contending teams will offer him a cheap deal

NE won't play that **** with Brown, and they have the winning history to back them up. Besides we've seen them do it with Moss. I can see AB joining on a vet deal. KC I can see them doing it because Andy Reid wants to win so badly and we've seen Reid take risks like this before. And do I need to explain Dallas? This has them written all over it. I'd give 48 hours before Brown is picked up by someone.

to be fair, yes, Brown is a headcase, but the Raiders are also a dumpster fire organization at the moment
a decent organization might be able to wrangle him for a year of decent production and manageable migraines

I think you are giving this idiot far more credit then he deserves. Sure, he might get a chance to play for a team of his choice, but that choice is going to be very limited and no way will the money be equal to what he just left on the table in Oakland.

This wasn't a calculated move on his part, it was just him being Antonio Brown.

If I were Antonio Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, I would be investigating the cryogenic therapy chamber that AB froze his feet at, I am starting to think that he wasn't wearing a proper "helmet" for adequate cold protection and froze his brain.

AB is thinking he is getting a bunch of cash from another team. His value has dropped considerably and i doubt he gets much guaranteed money. His ego will prevent him from signing a contract for what teams would be willing to risk. I think he isnt signed right away because he will wait for a team to be desperate due to an injury.

I could actually see him never playing again.

Has to be one of the stupidest players i have ever seen.
