I understand, I just remain skeptical is all. Anyone we do pick up I don't imagine will be all that impressive, and will be solid, but not outstanding pickups.

There is your negative thinking creeping in. Who is to say any of these high priced guys, that other teams have locked up today, are going to live up to their big contracts? Most Packer fans and probably the Packers themselves have buyers remorse when it comes to Jimmy Graham.

I will start worrying if we hit the draft without plugging the holes at OLB, S and G, but I don't think that is going to happen.

Those teams aren't sitting with a 35 year old Aaron Rodgers either. I swear people think this is gonna last forever.
Nor are they sitting with the Cap hit that Rodgers puts on the Packers, so they have a ton of money to throw at other positions. I guess pick your poison, but I think had the Packers signed Landon Collins at what the Redskins paid for him, I might be the one jumping off that cliff.

Just hold on to your chairs guys. Strap in tight. This is where we swoop in and sign a washed up offensive player and overpay him handsomely.

Who is it gonna be this year?

I wouldn't call it negativity as I'm typically one of the optimistic guys usually. I've just seen this play out plenty of times, so I'm keeping my expectations severely low. Lower your expectations and you're never disappointed.

As for Graham, we'll see how this year goes, personally I wish we kept Cook.

But But But But Damte said rookie QB deal etc etc has nothing to do with building a supreme roster?

Success comes from rookie deals as mentioned before... Or a QB willing to take less $$$ to build the team up around him (see TB12).

Yeah, that's where I am at. Glad I made it back to Titletown for this **** show. They punked all of us.

The whole front office has been contaminated by this pedestrian approach to build a championship roster. Gonna have to gut the whole thing with Mark Murphy but it will all be too late at that point.

The Blizzard is more exciting then watching the grass grow with the Green Bay Packers.

Seriously, I'm beginning to wonder if you people watch/understand football, or just play Madden and fantasy sports.

If you did get a GM job in the league, it would be a single year. Not because you can't spot talent, but because you would bankrupt a franchise in a single season signing everyone.

Once again nobody said anything about signing everyone.

Just one game changer would of been a huge success.

We have PICK's and $ with a lot of dead weight on the roster we could cut to make even more room.

With respect, like duh with a capital D. No one is saying to throw money left and right and sign everyone, I don't think any one is suggesting that. My point wasn't in regards to this first day of FA as I've mentioned, this is just how I view the front office based off years of watching them. I just have low expectations in regards to who we're going to sign.

Geez.

Earl Thomas
Adrian Amos
Golden Tate
Rodger Saffold
Quinton Spain
Preston
Za'quan
Justin Houston
Sheldon Richardson
Dee Ford (trade)

I could name a lot more, but they're all still available. I'm not losing any sweat over missing out on paying Landon Collins 14/year. There were some stupid dollars thrown out, but people wanna ***** because we're not being active for the sake of being active.

Did we not learn our lesson from Jimmy Graham? A big contract doesn't mean a good contract! ***** after free agency if you want, but doing it now just makes you look like a fickle *****.

I keep reading this. I assume, therefore, that everyone espousing this theory that teams need "cheap" QBs will soon be advocating for trading Rodgers? I mean, otherwise the team is really just spinning their wheels and wasting money on Rodgers.

Were not getting ANYONE on that list unless we get fleeced by Chiefs for Ford and maybe a shot at Houston.

Earl Thomas wants to be the higest paid free safety.

Amos has four teams in hot pursuit.

I donr't want Sheldon Richardson and there not gonna sign him.

What does Golden Tate do for us?

The rest of the list is blah.

Honestly, I threw this idea around on this board last year. No one should be bigger than the team. Not wanting it necessarily, but not 100% against it either.

He's a commodity. If he can't help us win in the next 3 seasons, he can certainly get us a windfall for the future now. These guys have an expiration date.

But there are some asking to sign every name out there.

There are real and cost effective players who would significantly upgrade our roster, but they rarely get mentioned. Hell, we were tossing Antonio browns name around for 45 pages for Christ's sake.

We could have Antonio Brown and Osemele right now and be in good situation cap wise with all our premium picks left. Could probably still get Ingram too

The offense would be ready to roll hard and draft a couple edge rushers in the draft. Something like Sweat/Ferguson/Adderley
