Which of these would you have been happy with:

1.) 3 year 30 million to Malik Jackson
2.) 4 year 66 million (37 in guarantees) to Trent Brown
3.) 6 year 84 million (45 in guarantees) to Landon Collins
4.) 5 year ~85 million to Trey Flowers
5.) 4 year 54 million (27 in guarantees) to Kwon Alexander
6.) 4 year 36 million to Justin Coleman
7.) 1 year 5.75 million to Danny Amendola

Out of these 7 contracts that were signed today (of which I am aware of), I would say every one of these players were grossly overpaid when based on their production. Trey Flowers was compensated probably the most fairly, but a 4-3 DE would not fit on the Packers roster.

None.

if it was going to make sense for a team it would be a team like them, but if their run game goes away they're going to find out they have a back up QB who can throw a fairly accurate jump ball for big plays off run action and not a lot else.

Foles' weapons have significantly decreased. Big WR drop off and even bigger TE drop off. Fornette, when healthy and not punching people has shown signs of greatness. Unless Bortles was that bad and they have some gems there we don't know about. I don't see the Jags getting that much better. I mention that because I hope they draft some O-Line help instead of defensive players that the Packers are interested in.

The Jags receivers I would say have been handcuffed by Bortles for quite some time... Lee, Westbrook, Cole and Chark are all talented and have flashed at one point or another. I'd be VERY interested to see how they do with someone as competent as Foles can be.

The #Titans are signing former #Bucs WR Adam Humphries, per @MikeGarafolo and me. Another top slot threat off the market. One of the NFL’s most efficient on third down.

Damn it. That was a guy I was hoping the Packers could land. Thought he would be a nice fit into our offense. Will have to see what the Titans ended up paying him. :(

I don't get to see too many games but that is very unfortunate for them. They are a definite "what could have been team." I know just 2 years age they had Lee, Robinson, Hurts...and if he wasn't a headache, Justin Blackmon. Would have been dangerous with a decent QB.

I know a lot of people would love to see a top name signed, but watching the money being handed out to some of those big name players, I am fine with the middle to upper middle younger guys being signed by the Packers. Get them a bit cheaper and hope they get better with age.

Wait a week and grab a couple seasoned vets at lower prices to fill some of the other holes. Yes, I know that is a TT move, but you can't have a roster filled with $12M+/year guys.

This is the packer way. It also explains why we just missed the playoffs and haven’t seen a super bowl in 10 years . Wasting Rodgers .

The whole thing is INSANE!. We treat all these draft picks like there GOLD but can't really draft anyone to save our lives.

Again I'm just finding it hilarious how safe people here want to go about this, and not take any chances. We may as well have kept Thompson at this rate.

The Packers shouldn't be interested in either Suggs or Wake as both of them are way too old. Hopefully Gutekunst will be able to re-sign Breeland in which case there's no need for another cornerback.

Not going to disagree with you that they may be too old, I was viewing them as just a role type of player that comes in on 3rd downs and provides veteran leadership. I was thinking $5 mil or less for them for 1 year, but that might be unrealistic. Don't know what the market will be for them. I want them to bring Breeland back too, I just think he'll want a lot of money since he took a discount last year. Maybe not the worst idea to overpay for him a bit.

'There's no way the team should draft Fant at #12.'

I'm a Hawkeye fan, that may be more homer talk on my part. He has potential but he had a few too many drops for my liking early last year. I don't see a safety I'd love at the 12 spot if Hockenson is gone, maybe use that for an edge rusher? I'd be fine using edge rusher on first 2 picks, especially Jaylon Ferguson at 32.

They just want to "safely" retire Aaron Rodgers I suppose.

No Urgency whatsoever. 50 dollar tickets are Alive and Well. Good seats too.

How will the Eagles make this work with their cap room? They just added DeSean too.

Regardless 10 mil for 3 years seems like way too much for what he did last year. Glad we stayed away from this.
And what receiver may I ask is on the market that is a better choice than Desean Jackson? To fit our needs?

Getting an early start on free agency worked out so great for us last year....... (Jimmy Graham). Patience, Jackson is way overpaid IMO especially with Wilkerson in play.

Ted didn't have a bad strategy, it's just he sucked at drafting his last 4 years which is an obvious no-no with that strategy. I didn't see many people complaining about him from 2005-2012. Building through free agency hasn't really worked out for the Redskins the last 20 years.

I was referring to Malik. I would have been more than happy if they had traded for DeSean. Not at all a fan of the receivers on the market as well.

We have picks. Could of traded a 5th for Osemele is just one example. We don't have time to develop 5th round picks anymore.

Nobody is saying to go out like the Redskins.

Osemele did cross my mind, but I think Jets are paying for a lot of his deal and he was awful last year according to PFF. I have no idea how healthy he is. That could be a good trade for Jets, but if he's like he was last year for the Raiders, it's a terrible deal for the Jets. NFL GMs/insiders know much more his health than I do. I'd much rather take a chance on Osemele for a 5th than what Collins and Malik Jackson got.
