...On the flip side he is still one of the more athletic players on that line and plenty strong to move inside. I would do the same thing Brian Burns (and at one juncture David Baktiari) did and add 15-20lbs and move him inside. I personally think he’s being played out of position and is better suited inside, I’m sure the Packers don’t want to admit it.
Absolutely no shame in admitting that a guy doesn't cut it at RT but can play RG... the shame would be to NOT make the move and have him excel somewhere else at RG. IF Spriggs can plug the RG "hole" that would be GREAT, then draft capital can be spent on our next, new RT for mid-'19/2020.

Totally disappointed in Spriggs, but I fully expect him to be on the final 53 roster. He isn't starter quality, but at $1,132,403 you might as well keep him for one more year as a backup.

McCray is probably the same story @ $645,000.

The Free Agent Safety market is really pretty strong, the Packers need to take advantage of it!

Well, so far we're oh fer. Gipson, Jackson. Don't know if we had a chance on Zeittler and Omechele. Not to happy about bringing back McCray and Gilbert. Things should be getting hot and heavy in a couple of hours.

Vikings are trying to clear cap space. Releasing Sendejo and now starting Guard Mike Remmers. How is that Kirk Cousins signing working out for you up there in Minnesota?

Ian Rapoport said the packers and bears are interested in Mark Ingram

I think I'd like this but I think someone will give him more money than he is worth. Ingram I think is the best Alabama RB in the last decade in the NFL and not that I want the Packers to be the Patriots, but having 3 solid RBs has really paid off. Get more of a hot hand to play without burning anyone out and Ingram seems to not mind (I don't know him so I could be wrong) being a helping hand rather than the full time starter.

He also seems the type of player that would thrive being a Bear so maybe part of my liking him is the dislike I would have for him running through the Bears defensive line. I don't know.

And if they would have just blew their cash and space in the opening seconds of free agency or prior to that, I guarantee that there would be a segment of people that would be up in arms 'OMG! Why are we moving so fast.. now we can't do anything!'

If they don’t they are fools.... idk why the sniffing around d lineman like Jackson.. resign Wilkerson... but no more effing around get a safety and linebacker actually multiple they need not to spend on offense and sign linebackers and safeties...

It was a simple statement of fact. They were in on 2 guys, didn't get them. If you want to read something into it, that's on you.
But you are correct, no matter what happens or doesn't happen, there will be some people up in arms.

1. Anthony Barr, Edge (freaky explosive edge used at the wrong position; considered on par with Khalil Mack coming out)
2. CJ Mosley, ILB (3-down linebacker that fills the gaps and excels in coverage)
3. Lamarcus Joyner, FS (rangy safety that can cover the slot as well, clutch player, can return punts as well)
4. Rodger Saffold, G (solid pass protector, has experience at tackle if needed to rotate outside)
5. Jordan Hicks, ILB (Smart, fast, productive ILB that is another 3-down player)
6. Tyrann Mathieu, FS (similar to Joyner but more instinctive against the run)
7. Preston Smith, Edge (long, fluid edge rusher just now entering his prime)
8. Bruce Ellington SLWR (true slot wide receiver with solid hands, sharp routes, and better speed that Cobb ever had)
9. Quinton Spain, G (consistent, high floor guard with good size)
10. Earl Thomas, FS (doesn't need explaining)

Not sure what you think I'm reading into. But hey, if you want to read something into my comments, that's on you too.

Hey.. fun game.

My only point was that some people just want the Packers to sign anyone as fast as possible. 60 minutes into the FA tampering period and twitterverse is panicking. Signing someone 5 seconds into free agency doesn't mean it was the right choice. Just a fast choice.

Also, barring injury, really no reason to not tender ERFA if you think there is a chance they make the 53. Not excited on Gilbert/McCray, but just figured they would be resigned anyways.

If they were really in the conversation with Jackson, he would have been a definite upgrade over Wilkerson. But yeah, I agree, sign Wilkerson and go out and get at least one OLB and S. Although, I would be much happier with 2 signings at each position.

Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet
Source: The #Vikings are not exercising the option on starting S Andrew Sendejo, making him a free agent. Another talented safety in the mix before free agency.

I have always been a big Sendejo fan. Still would need a FS, but Sendejo might be a cheap option to upgrade at SS.

No thanks, that guy gets burned almost as much as Brice does. I don't know a single Vikings fan that liked him.

Jackson wouldn't be an upgrade over Wilkerson as he is an interior defensive linemen and not a defensive end....

I like all of your summaries except the Barr one...nobody thought Barr was on par with Khalil Mack. Best example of this I can think of is Football Outsiders SackSEER estimate; they take college stats and try to estimate NFL sack production in their first five years. By that measure Khalil Mack ranks third all-time in their estimate (since 1998). Barr was an exciting prospect coming out but he was NOT close to Mack. I'm linking the article below but it also notes that Mike Mayock stated that he would take Mack over Clowney that year in the draft; in retrospect that would have definitely been the correct move.

Cordarrelle Patterson made some big returns for the Patriots, but if you look at his stats, they weren't an improvement over his previous 5 years with the Vikings and Raiders. I don't see anything that special about him, although almost any returner would be considered and upgrade for the Packers.

I am happy the Packers have not yet jumped all in on a deal. Today is the day teams drastically overpay for players. While today through Thursday are the best days to follow social media to figure out who is going where, I think the “steals” of FA come between Thursday and next week.

Ladies and gents, we've found Ted Thompson amongst our midsts.
