Everyone knows I'm a Lewis guy, and while I feel bad the Packers haven't decided as of now to get him a contract...there is a decent chance he'll be around for awhile and may even be post-draft. Such a great lockerroom presence and very good at what he can do. Blocking, leading and hands. Sure his body cannot move much though...LOL

I like everything I read and see of the guy too. If nothing else, he is a great role model and teacher for the young TE's and others. If he wants another year and its similar to his previous pay, although less $$ would be better, get it done Gute!

And The Bears trade for Nick Foles. I can only imagine Bears fans right now. They can't be too happy right now, and if it's the same Foles that performed as poorly in Jacksonville, we shouldn't have much to worry about. XD

Historically the Bears don't have a good reputation for evaluating QBs. ;)

Lots of vets will wait to miss as much camp as possible, lol.

I don't know, maybe its just been bad luck? ;) The good news for the Bears, I bet they have sold a ton of different QB Jerseys over the years. So many they should just have a "Number 0 Jersey" with "Quarterback" on the back.

During the "Favre/Rodgers Era", the Bears have had these 30 or so QB's as starters.

1995 Erik Kramer (16)
1996 Dave Krieg (12) / Erik Kramer (4)
1997 Erik Kramer (13) / Rick Mirer (3)
1998 Erik Kramer (8) / Steve Stenstrom (7) / Moses Moreno (1)
1999 Shane Matthews (7) / Cade McNown (6) / Jim Miller (3
2000 Cade McNown (9) / Shane Matthews (5) / Jim Miller (2)
2001 Jim Miller (13) / Shane Matthews (3)
2002 Jim Miller (8) / Chris Chandler (7) / Henry Burris (1)
2003 Kordell Stewart (7) / Chris Chandler (6)/ Rex Grossman (3)
2004 Craig Krenzel (5) / Chad Hutchinson (5)/ Jonathan Quinn (3) / Rex Grossman (3)
2005 Kyle Orton (15) / Rex Grossman (1)
2006 Rex Grossman (16)
2007 Rex Grossman (7) / Brian Griese (6) / Kyle Orton (3)
2008 Kyle Orton (15) / Rex Grossman (1)
2009 Jay Cutler (16)
2010 Jay Cutler (15) / Todd Collins (1)
2011 Jay Cutler (10) / Caleb Hanie (4) / Josh McCown (2)
2012 Jay Cutler (15) / Jason Campbell (1)
2013 Jay Cutler (11) / Josh McCown (5)
2014 Jay Cutler (15) / Jimmy Clausen (1)
2015 Jay Cutler (15) / Jimmy Clausen (1)
2016 Matt Barkley (6) / Jay Cutler (5) / Brian Hoyer (5)
2017 Mitchell Trubisky (12) / Mike Glennon (4)
2018 Mitchell Trubisky (14) / Chase Daniel (2)
2019 Mitchell Trubisky (15) / Chase Daniel (1)

I think with how quiet things are with Robby Anderson and Perriman, they must both be negotiating with multiple teams. Reassuring for us I guess that they weren't just re-signed by their respective teams. I'd be happy with Robby in GB. Either really.

My guess, just a guess. I think both would be decent signings for some team, but because they haven't signed, they are not getting the offers that they wanted. That is probably because they/their agent overvalued themselves and/or teams are looking at the WR Draft and saying "Yeah, ummm....never mind, we will just take our chances in the draft".

Lions just signed Danny Shelton. I'm guessing A'Shawn Robinson won't be resigning with the Lions.
Robinson is a player I can see us picking up, I liked him coming out of college and is a strong *** dude. BTW the man is only 24 yrs old.

Good excuse to post this.

I bet he's looked like a grown *** man since he was 8.

I am a Lewis fan but man that is a touch more than I expected. Fully expect an added draftee and Tonyan and Jace is what we got at TE

Not sure what Vet Min is for a 14 year vet, somewhere over a million though, so in the grand scheme of things, it isn't a big overpay and with the loss of Graham, we needed a Vet TE. Now we just have to find one that can put up some stats.

Oh I don't doubt if asked Lewis can up his reception numbers by 15 to 25 more and a few more red zone TDs. His hands have always been there, his body is just SLOW.

I kinda suspect we are hoping Jace and Tonyan provide the receiving numbers at the position now years in.

I'd still think a budget TE that has some potential like RSJ could be signed, but who knows.

If the Josh Bynes interest materializes into a signing, then Goodson will have been replaced.

Honestly if Bynes gets signed...I'd bet bottom dollar we don't go ILB in draft till our 3rd pick then, just too many good iDL, OT and WRs to be had that will make immediate impact.
