The best one two punch at corners was a long time ago. Herb Adderly and Bob Jeter.

Too old for my opinion of that to hold merit, recognize the names 100% though. Herb was a BEAST from all accounts of my older GB fan friends.

Should regress. 13 wins is tough to match. Assuming all teams healthy, I think we're still the best team in the division. Vikings are close, but they lost a lot. Going to have to have a solid defense and other offensive players step up though. Rodgers is not capable of carrying this team any longer. Gonna guess 11 wins.

Rodgers shouldn't have been forced to carry the team for several years at all in the first place. He still has the ability to perform at an elite level but unfortunately it seems the talent surrounding him isn't good enough to have one of the best offenses in the league anymore.

I think (and hope) that you are just way too upset about not drafting a w/o. We'll see. And Adams is a great receiver. Just can't only rely on him. Though sometimes it seems like NO relies on Thomas a very lot. Especially in clutch time.

I think its pretty fair to say the offense is no where near as talented as they were in years past under MM

Adams is great but everything after him is either a question mark, or simply not very good.

Or simply not developed enough yet through last season to be sure how good, or bad, they really can be. Young receivers in new system can have a learning curve.

While the Saints are extremely dependent on Thomas they had a better #2 target in Jared Cook last season. They would definitely benefit from having more talented depth at wide receiver as well though.

True, it's possible they just aren't that good as well though. MVS regressing over the second half of the season isn't a promising sign.

The only other guy coming into his third season is EQ who was injured last season and therefore is a question mark.

Hmm, to adjust or not to adjust season expectations for covid. Might be a short-term impact, but we'll only know after all of week 1 is in the books. I didn't see all of the Thursday game, but when I did see it, I couldn't tell the difference between football pre-covid and what I saw there.

All that to say, covid should not be a cover for any of our front office and the offseason decisions they made. They decided to go with the personnel in the certain positions they didn't address, particularly WR, and as such the performance to be seen will be their responsibility.

Expectations are that MVS and ESB play at very high levels or be gone at the end of this.

Both MVS and EQ will still be on their rookie deals in 2021. Therefore I highly doubt they will be automatically gone if they don't perform at a high level this season.

Adderly was top shelf for certain. Maybe just a smidge less than Woodson. Woodson in his prime was a phenomenal game changing player. The most naturally gifted athlete to play in Green Bay in my lifetime.

Jeter was really good. Very good tackler and fast. I saw him set up Roman Gabriel (LA Rams) for a pick six once when Gabriel had been throwing short outs all game.

I think it's hard to say we`ll have a BETTER record than last year but. certainly the same and I`d be more than happy.

Is MVS set to expire at the end of 2021?

If so ... Well I would consider letting him walk if he didn't meet expectations this year. The cap hit would be minimal on a rookie contract

If MVS and ESB don't perform this year then it's time to move on, if GB can afford it that is. I'm expecting and looking for a solid #2 to emerge quickly this year. Gluten's draft suggests he thinks he has the right guys. We'll find out soon.

Yes.

I get the points about cap hits, but sometimes players get cut, and it is very clear that the FO is banking on these two to play like #2 WRs. If it doesn't happen, the GM makes a move or moves out himself after another year of "why won't they give Rodgers some help?!"

Yes, the contracts of MVS and EQ expire at the end of the 2021 season. While the dead money counting against the cap would indeed be minimal it's not smart to move on from players on cheap rookie deals without letting them compete for a spot.

Well, I could change my mind if they continue playing like yesterday. Granted the Vikes defense has issues right now, but there were good signs there from Laz and MVS. Let's hope that continues

MVS made some nice plays but had a terrible drop and should have come up with another long catch. EQ not even being active was a surprise and definitely not a good sign moving forward.

was also disappointed to hear EQ was a no go at gametime. Haven't really followed anything in camp so didn't know if he was hurt, just wasn't performing etc. Either way, not a great sign.

and MVS, some nice catches, but those 2 drops were terrible. One may as well be called a turnover because it was on of the easiest pass and catches you'll ever have in the NFL for a first down, instead they had to punt. Then the long one. thankfully Lazard came thru on 3rd down and kept the drive alive, but if you can't be relied upon to catch the underneath stuff for 1st downs and you're a deep threat specialist that misses as consistently as you catch balls right in your hands, that's not a good sign. Needs to shake that.

Lazard has truly been a success story so far. His rapid professional development imo indicates that he possesses strong intangibles. Kudos to the scouting staff for identifying his potential.

EQ didn't appear on the injury report all week before the Vikings game. Therefore I assume he was inactive based on performance.

Lazard still has to prove he's able to contribute against a decent secondary.

Has EQ found a home on special teams yet? I recall him not playing them his rookie year. Makes a difference on game day actives.
