Hakeem Butler was released by the Cards..... Interesting prospect... I know nothing about his circumstances (health, moral choices, etc) but would be interesting to bring him in for a look see.

Maybe a bit, but taller and faster than some of our WR's. I think he'd be the tallest on the team at 77.6 inches (taller than MVS and EQ at 6'5") with 6'' higher vert than MVS. Dude is a freak athlete with 4th round draft pedigree with many of whom thinking he'd go in the top 50 draft picks last year (per rotoworld). Apparently didn't do well with short routes and had some drops, but came out raw. May be worth a try out anyway.

**edit: Actually, he didn't play much at all last year, and didn't get in much practicing this year. Wouldn't make the field much behind Fitz, Hop, Kirk and Isabella there anyway. Now that I think about it I'd pass on a project like this... can't run short routes, bad hands = won't make the field.

I have no opinion on this player other than to say the Packers are at the bottom of the waiver claim priority list.

If 29 teams pass on him, with a 4th. round pick's salary near the minimum, there must be some pretty bad word of mouth on the street, so to speak, about this guy.

The Packers need to trade for a legitimate talent at wr or more likely select one in the first or second round in 2021. Maybe the first and second round. Whether the qb is gonna be aaron rodgers which I hope because that means he's playing too well for the fo to go with Love. Or if it ends up being love in 2023 you're gonna benefit if you have a wr pipeline going again like you did during the end of the Favre era and the meat of the Rodgers era

Actually strike that hopefully Love is qb in 2023 despite Rodgers playing well because that would mean Love is too good in practice to keep off the field, as Rodgers once was...3 hof qbs in a row would be some kind of record I think

Actually isn't he eligible for practice squad under new rules implemented because of covid. He's a perfect veteran to have on your practice squad as injury insurance. Could be he winds up on ps but I don't see him being claimed by any other team so hell be an emergency list guy for sure

Actually I think he could, there's a new designation for 2020 where you can have 2 players no matter how many seasons they have but they have to be Free Agents first. They could be trying to do that.

Be crazy if they actually had that in Madden 21, I'd stash Andrew Luck.

How is madden 21? I used to buy a system just to play Madden during the season. Is it just like the old classic madden, just better graphics more plays options etc or is it different

Madden 21 is so trash, don't buy it. There are so many glitches in that game, it's like EA let their junior interns do the whole thing and they didn't check behind them. I only played a demo, I'll buy it when it goes down to $25.99 or something. I'm going to get 2k21 though in honor of Kobe. That's usually the best way to do it, buy one and skip a year or two or wait til they're free in the store. The changes from year to year are minimal at best.

I would argue our WR group needs a little diversity out of the big tall class, and one or two smaller shorter slot speedster Julian Edelman types.


At this point though, might be stuck with what we got at WR until the end of season.

Only guy on that list I thought they'd keep was dexter williams. Wonder if he'll end up on ps squad. He was talked up as the perfect back for the scheme. I guess with Jones williams and dillon there's nothing left for anyone else anyways especially when you take Ervin into account

Although "Juice" has done nothing to impress me, he is a perfect candidate for the practice squad if the Packers like his potential. He showed absolutely nothing on film last season. I highly doubt he is on any other teams radar. That will be the case of many of these young guys.

I predicted he'd be gone at the end of the season anyway because he's already hit the ceiling. Problem is now, we're very thin at this position because Gute seems to be very unwilling to invest any significant draft or trade capital in it. Seems to be treating it the same way Thompson was with the DBs when he figured he could rely on guys like House and Gunter and get away with it.
