All 46 players active on game day have to play within the system, otherwise the Packers won't win vs. the Niners. It's not surprising you singled out Rodgers for whatever reason once again.

As a side note, Rodgers wasn't the one to blame for the loss vs. the Chargers, the offensive line had a terrible game not giving him any time to throw the ball.
Not to mention derailing drives before they even began with false starts etc...

I would imagine it to be very interesting inside of Gary's head where he can drum up anything, no matter how laughably ridiculous it might be (and usually is), to take a shot at Rodgers.

of course but it all starts with him. he holds the key to every play they run. especially when, as MLF said, they were in "2 minute mode all game long." and i'm not blaming the loss on him. there was more than enough to go around. i'd put most of it MLF and pettine probably.

In that case you should praise Rodgers way more often when the Packers win.

It`s a fair point guys

No, it's not. Rodgers has close to no impact on the defensive performance. While he plays the most important position on offense he needs others to step up for the Packers to win a game as well.

Yes I get that, but so does Rodgers. A friend of mine who is a Minnesota fan even knows Rodgers favourite weapon is or was the hail mary. At least he has changed his attack which personally I like. Not as predictable.

I’m sure that Minnesota fan is extremely fair and objective about Aaron Rodgers.

Come on, Buggy. Rodgers has attempted close to 6,000 passes during his career, approximately 10 of them have been hail maries.

It must be a miserable experience as a Packers fan to despise the starting quarterback as much as some seem to.

Panthers and Saints down to the wire. If Carolina can win, that'd be insurance for us if we lose tonight.

EDIT - And of course a rookie kicker costs them the W

Saints end up winning, but without knowing many of the details of the game, the Saints don't scare me as much as they earlier in the season. Today is a going to be a good barometer of where the Packers are in comparison to the top teams in the league.

We've gotten blown out in two of our last three games. This team appears to be regressing.

The problem is that they are a really bad team in a lot of areas and a really good football team in not many areas. They don't have weapons in the passing game. They don't stop the run. They don't defend the pass well. They don't play well on special teams. Even their pass rush ranks in the bottom half of the league.

They have Aaron Jones who does well, and Aaron Rodgers can exploit really bad defenses that he won't see in the playoffs.

That's not much to be optimistic about. I think we're a paper tiger.

I don't think we are as terrible as you are suggesting. We don't have a lot of talent at the skill positions on offense outside of Adams and A. Jones for Rodgers to work with. The line is not playing well. Bak has regressed, Lindley had a terrible game and Bulaga got hurt. We couldn't run the ball and Rodgers was under siege all night long with no one open to throw to. It would help to have receivers - both WRs and TEs - who can get open consistently. I was disappointed to see Sternberger not active. Our pass rush, especially in the first half, was pretty good but we still have problems covering TEs. ILB is a huge problem for this defense.

If Gute can address these holes this offseason perhaps we can compete in the NFC playoffs in 2020.

tier 2 by record but tier 3 in reality I think. a .500-type team, that's managed to get to 8-3, with a soft schedule ahead that will only continue to distort how good this team is. sadly it'll hurt their draft position and ability to get the additional talent they need. they're also stuck somewhere between the old offense and the one that sliced and diced them up tonight. a team without a true philosophy. oh...and between his injury history, his general play, and his draft position, I'd say Kevin King is pretty much a bust...just a guy.

I realize that disappoints people, but it really should be a pretty good indication of where the Packer coaches feel he is on the depth chart, as well as in his development. This "pining" for certain players to play, thinking they are the better than those who are playing, seems too be a common trap by some fans.

Great we’re 8-3. We WERE 7-1. This is not a GOOD football team. Mediocre, caught some breaks, pretty soft schedule... they could just as easily be 6-5/5-6. This team scares no one (no quality team that is).

Good defense, a QB not playing up to his (getting distant) past level of performance, lousy special teams and a hollow offense.

5 years of Ted Thompson’s whiffs are biting us and it’s going to take time and good moves to emmerge. Not gonna happen overnight.

This was predicted to be a rebuilding year with a new coach. People got juiced up after a fast start but this team needs a lot of work before it’s a top 6 team

hopefully they head in the right direction

The Packers aren't a championship caliber team but in my opinion you're too negative about them after a devastating loss.

Sternberger being active wouldn't have made any difference.
