What would you guys think if Gute gave up Kizer, and BOTH first rd picks to swap with the New York Giants to move up and take Nick Bosa??

It’s actually my trade proposal but I think this is something the Giants would go for. You get your young QB still on a rookie contract who’s started in the NFL in Kizer.
Then you have two picks in the first where you can draft an o line to build around Saquan.

I would be excited if the Packers end up drafting Nick Bosa but I highly doubt that their two first rounders next year and Kizer would be enough to move up to the first overall pick.

I don’t think it’s a dumb move from them at all. There isn’t 1 QB worthy coming out of being #1. It’s not even a guarantee they end up #1. Maybe #2 or #3.
It's almost a certain that they will draft an impact player with one of the top 3 picks. They aren't going to trade out of that position to acquire what will most likely be two first round picks in the 20's, and maybe even one of them picks in the 30's. Kizer does nothing for them.

Why are you so certain the Giants will get the #1 overall pick ahead of the Cardinals and Bills? And why are you so certain Nick Bosa goes at #1 overall?

Wait, what? Kizer is worth at least a second round pick and is a first round talent, or so I've been told. :whistling:

Even if you are right, Kizer has shown he's a bad quarterback. They can just draft the guy they want with that pick and pick up Bridgewater or something.

Why is everyone so sure they get the #1 pick?!!

They could end up 4. Yes they could get bridgewater or something but Kizer is bigger more athletic with a way stronger arm for that weather!! Also they could use those picks to upgrade their oline.

I think that's the assumption when looking at your scenario because, barring a QB wowing some team, Bosa seems like the early favorite to go #1. The latest rumors have Herbert staying at school, which would further boost the chances that Bosa is the first overall pick.

Some of my OSU alumni friends say he could pull an Eli, and refuse to go to NY if they pick him.

I honestly believe that the Packers do not think they have a Pass rush or safety issue.
It seems like they are oblivious when they have problems.
I do not think they would draft Bosa if they did do they trade as it seems to simple an idea for them to do.

I’m usually opposed to the idea of trading two first round picks for a higher one, but even so, I don’t think our two picks would be enough to land a top 5 pick in order to take bosa, and Kizer doesn’t have much value to swing it either way.

Those situations are so unusual that I can’t see the logic in assuming it will happen. Especially since the Giants are one of the best, most stable organizations in the league from ownership on down. If Joey didn’t balk at the Chargers, I can’t imagine Nick turning down the Giants.

Bosa is all but guaranteed to be the first non-quarterback off the board. The Packers will most likely not have enough draft capital to move up to select him.

Most stable? Haha you might wanna rethink that. They have been a mess for a couple years now buddy.

No guarantee you'd end up getting Bosa. Some team (say, maybe the Raiders) finish with a worse record than the Giants and end up taking Bosa off the board.

That's a pig in a poke trade.

While that's true for the Giants on the field they're definitely one of the most stable off it.

Obviously the Packers would only trade up with a team on the clock during the draft to select Bosa.

I don't want to think anything. I don't really care. But that's the opinion that often comes out of league circles. Teams like the Giants, Steelers, Packers, etc. are considered stable franchises that are slow to make major changes. You don't have to like it, but it's out there.

I think it would be helpful to go back to the main point here-- you're arguing against Bosa's viability as the #1 pick because, in the case where NY lands said pick, your buddies think he might refuse to go there. Now who needs to rethink their argument?

Why are so many eager to jettison those two first round draft picks?
