If Dallas is smart theyd let the commanders win if beating them means the Packers get in...who would you rather face in the playoffs carson wentz/taylor heinicke or Aaron Rodgers

I doubt that is on their radar all that much. If the Packers get in, as the #7 seed, the only way they play the Cowboys, would be in the NFC Championship game @ Dallas.

The Packers most likely opponents would be the Vikings and if they get by them, the Eagles.

Excuse my ignorance here but WHY would the Cowboys WANT to let a division rival win ? Aaron isn`t likely to light them up with our present record. JMHO

Given the Packers have to beat the Vikings for the most realistic path to the playoffs, the Vikings probably finish lower than SF, so the Packers likely have to play SF in the wild card round.

I think it was more due to the fact that we beat the Cowboys last game and even more important, the Packers are 9-1 against the Cowboys in the last 10 games.

Good point. I just read that the 49'ers most likely will hold the tie breaker (conference record) if those 2 teams tie. So you are correct, if all goes "as planned", the Packers would likely being heading to San Fran. Not a fan of either road game for them.

Its because if you have your choice of which team gets in the playoffs and they are, the packers or the commaders...pretty sure everybody especially the other 6 teams in the playoffs would choose the commanders all day...disagree?

I'm sure the Cowboys would much rather have momentum going into the playoffs. And them throwing a game against Washington would be like us throwing a game against the Bears. It's just not happening. You think Jerry Jones would be okay with that? Please...

The Commanders and the Packers probably shouldn't scare many teams, since neither of them have been consistent this season. However, I agree with you that if the Packers go into the playoffs, having won 5 in a row and Aaron Rodgers is healthy, the team that has to play them, might have preferred the Commanders.

This. All of these teams and players whether they have something on the line or not, have a lot of pride and for many this time of year playing for their jobs. Think the Vikings will be less intense or not try as hard next weekend against us? They hate us, and the chance to knock us out of the playoffs on our own field will have them ready to go full tilt. The Browns will be ready to ruin the Commanders season, and so on.

If the Packers win out let's hope the Browns win at the Commanders next week.

Unfortunately I don't believe the Eagles will lose to the Saints even if Minshew is starting again resulting in both them and the Cowboys having nothing to play for in week 18.
Yes, they might rest a skill player or three.
That said The cowboys are 3 deep at RB, 2 deep at QB and just signed TY Hilton and have an average stable at TE. I highly doubt they rest anyone on Defense more than 1 or 2 starters.
We really should remember this is still a Division rivalry and they’d like nothing more than to eliminate Washington from the postseason contention.

Okay....But I don`t think Big Mike (who I was a fan of ;)) is going to do us any favours because he loves us so very much.

While I agree with you, I would much rather face a team that has been eliminated, than one still in the playoffs, whether fighting for a higher seed or not, which the Vikings will be doing.

Will the Browns give it their all? Probably many will, but it won't surprise me to see starters out with minor injuries and starters that already are thinking about vacation, staying injury free and what their new contract might look like (the 22 Brown players becoming FA's).

It depends. You often see bad out of it teams pull big upsets this time of year. We can only hope the .Browns come out hungry this week

The Browns are a walking question mark, so I don't count on them to do anything. So much talent on that team and they just can't seem to figure it out. Goes to show you just how important a quality QB can be, which is something they have always lacked.

The 6-9 Browns are hard to put a finger on. They are inconsistent (like us) but filled with talent and have recently beat Tampa and Baltimore. They also put up a respectable 400 yards @ the Bills (8 point loss). While they should be an underdog @ Washington, they are capable of an upset also.

They were respectable against the Bills with Jacoby Brisset. Deshaun Watson looked like crap last week.

Wow...so every result Packers needed so far:

-Giants loss
-Seahawks loss
-Lions loss

But biggest game is this 49ers Commanders game. Absolutely need a Niners win

I guess now SoV along with all tiebreakers are meaningless when it comes to DET vs GB... unless somehow they both finish as a *relevant* 8-9.

But essentially now, if either team loses in Week 17, they're done. If they both win, playoffs begin Week 18.

Totally agree. I don't get at all this talk about throwing games and tanking on purpose. It's horrible to even consider it. It's very bad for the shield.

you missed the point…. We need the Commanders to lose 1 more. They play Cleveland next week and then Dallas the following week. If they don‘t lose to Cleveland, we would need Dallas to beat them. By then Dallas will most likely have locked up the five seed with nothing to gain by playing their starters against Washington.
I didn't miss squat.
You apparently missed his first paragraph though and that it what I was responding to. I didn't have a comment for his 2nd paragraph.

The Browns have even less to play for, they were eliminated from the playoffs. I'd take my chances on betting that the Commanders have a better chance beating the Browns, than the Giants beating the Eagles.

The game I expect the Commanders to potentially lose is against the Cowboys in week 18. While the Cowboys aren't really playing to improve playoff position, they may view the game as one they want to win, against a divisional opponent and prepping for the playoffs.
I see the Browns playing for next year. IMO they will try to win and play their starters to see who fits with Watson and the style he brings to the table. Now the question becomes are they good enough to win not will they try to win. IMO.

I doubt that goes into their thinking. The only way the Cowboys play either the Pack or the Skins is in the NFC championship game IMO. IMO that is highly unlikely.
