If Green Bay gets in regardless they are gonna play either the niners or Vikings one of the two

I didn't miss squat.
You apparently missed his first paragraph though and that it what I was responding to. I didn't have a comment for his 2nd paragraph.
okee dokee then I guess the people that agreed with my comment didn’t understand yours either since it was completely irrelevant to the comment you replied to. I didn‘t miss anything about his first paragraph. None of it had anything to do with the Packers beating them. His statement about the Cowboys depth was simply a hopeful observation that maybe they could still beat the Commanders even if they sit their starters. You either did misunderstand…. or your entire reply was non sequitur.

In my opinion it's wishful thinking that the Cowboys won't rest a lot of starters in week 18 against the Commanders if they're guaranteed to enter the playoffs as the fifth seed.

One thing that's interesting is that while the Packers only need the Commanders to lose another game to make the playoffs if they win out the Lions would need the Seahawks to lose another one as well to clinch a playoff spot by winning their last two games.

I think you are absolutely right. The Eagles are going to rest their starters (last game), so hoping the Commanders lose to the Browns seems the most probable. Winning out to not make the playoffs would be a waste.

Let's hope the Eagles lose to the Saints this week as they would possibly have to win in week 18 to secure the division.

The Browns have even less to play for, they were eliminated from the playoffs. I'd take my chances on betting that the Commanders have a better chance beating the Browns, than the Giants beating the Eagles.

The Giants will secure a playoff spot with a win over the Colts this week though. Therefore their week 18 game against the Eagles will be irrelevant for the Packers. As others have mentioned I believe the Browns will play for the jobs next season, making them a dangerous opponent for the Commanders this week. Hopefully.

Good point. I just read that the 49'ers most likely will hold the tie breaker (conference record) if those 2 teams tie.

The Niners are guaranteed to win a tiebreaker with the Vikings if both teams end up tied.

Think the Vikings will be less intense or not try as hard next weekend against us?

The Vikings still have playoff seeding to play for at this point.

That said The cowboys are 3 deep at RB, 2 deep at QB and just signed TY Hilton and have an average stable at TE. I highly doubt they rest anyone on Defense more than 1 or 2 starters.
We really should remember this is still a Division rivalry and they’d like nothing more than to eliminate Washington from the postseason contention.

Don't get me wrong, the Cowboys could still defeat the Commanders by playing several backups in week 18 but the chances would be significantly smaller than if they had something to play for.

Still possible to play Dallas or Eagles too

While that's true it's highly unlikely though.

Yes, win the next one, then the next one, and then hopefully whoever the next one is, beat them too. and so on and so forth. But 1 at a time. Nothing matters if you don't win the next one. Yes Capt, I know technically there probably is some way, but I don't care. Just win the next one :)

The absolute best thing that can happen to maximize the Packers chances to make the playoffs (besides obviously winning out) is for the NFC East to come down to week 18.

Hopefully the Browns can take down the Commanders this weekend. But if not, we need the cowboys to have every incentive possible to play all their horses against them in week 18.

Also….it would force the Eagles to play everyone against the Giants.

If the Commanders don’t lose this weekend, I’d sure as hell feel better if the commanders had to play a full strength cowboys team and the giants to play a full strength eagles team.

I’d feel pretty good about one of those results happening. Of course, that also means the giants will have had to lose at home to the fighting Jeff Saturdays. But if anyone can face plant like that, I’m sure the Giants can figure it out.

I will say one thing about the Packers, that might be talked about at some point. They ended up getting about the worst schedule that one could make. As did the rest of the NFC North. This was the wrong year to have to play all the teams from the AFC East (34 total wins) and NFC East (39 wins) divisions.

Have to wonder if we had played the South:

AFC South (20 total wins)
NFC South (24 wins)

The only real break was playing the Rams and Buccaneers, since both teams won their divisions last season.

I kinda look at it this way. IF (big if) we Win 5 in a row? We will be the story of all stories if we sneak into postseason.
No one will say we had an easy road. That overcoming Adversity is more inspiring to me than a 13-4 team with an easier road and maybe taking it for granted (that includes the team and us fans).

I would not want to be the Cowboys hosting GB on a 6 or 7 game Winning stretch. That’s a nightmare scenario for them.

The Giants are in the driver's seat. They get a Colts team at home that is lost and blew a 33 point lead. Then likely the Eagles will rest a lot of players and certainly Hurts. Washington is our best hope. I'd the choice is up to MM the Boys take it easy. If it is Jerry Jones they go for the win.

You just never know when a schedule comes out, just how difficult or easy it will turn out to be. Given how bad the NFC East has been in the last several years, I figured we finally had a gift and didn't have to play the NFC West.

Injuries, weather and just plain timing can play a role in it as well.

Good point, and I also think part of the Packers problem was underestimating some of these teams as well.

After riding high from an overtime win against Belichick, the Packers had what many felt at the time was a very light part of the schedule with the Giants, Jets, and Commanders in consecutive weeks.

Didn’t turn out that way.

Agreed. Losing those 3 games and then having to travel to Buffalo, was what I thought was the seasons dagger.

I have to admit, they are making a go at it and anything is possible. However, if they do end up not making the playoffs or getting knocked out quickly, I think this winning streak will cost them a number of things. The most important, being able to evaluate Love and other young players. Second, draft position in each round is worse. Lastly, potentially, Joe Barry keeps his job. I can see a situation where MLF thinks Barry and the defense are trending upwards and doesn't fire him. Sometimes you need to fall flat on your face to make changes, a Packers team that finishes with 5 straight wins and a 9-8 record, might not be the best thing for them, but we will see.

Still, this is Titletown. On the scoreboard in the south end zone are the years of the Packers’ 13 world championships. There are no mentions of division titles, wild-card berths or winning seasons.

Wow. So you think the Eagles are going to lose 3 in a row. Could happen.

As others have mentioned, it's highly unlikely the Packers will face the Cowboys in the playoffs as a #7 seed.

Don't forget that the Giants clinch a playoff spot with a win vs. the Colts.

I'm afraid that could happen as well. Hopefully MLF will figure out a change needs to be made even if the Packers end up making the playoffs.

Really hope Christian Watson can play...they got lucky in the first game when he dropped that ball...dont think that was gonna happen again. If he plays he will be open all day long...the Vikings defense is terrible, I expect the Packers offense to be able to put up points

Yup, there are only 2 teams in the NFL that have given up 6000+ yds. The Vikings are 1 of them and the Lions are the other. The Vikings have given up the most pass yds/game with a whopping 281.5/game. Rodgers hasn't thrown for 300+ yards in a LONG time, maybe this will be the game he snaps that string! The last time was 12/12/21 against the Bears.

Now if he really goes crazy....how about he makes it his 10th game with 400+ yds in the air!

Hi guys, sorry to sidetrack this topic but I don't have enough posts to make a thread.

I was wondering if I could get some advice on getting Packers tickets. I'm a longtime fan (since 2000) but haven't been to a game in 20 years because I'm from Southern Illinois and don't have any friends who are Packers fans.

I'm thinking of getting tickets to this weekend's Vikings game. Or possibly the following week vs. the Lions. I want to get the best deal. Do you guys have any tips or preferred practices on getting tickets? From what I hear, the best deals are outside of the major secondary vendors like Ticketmaster.
