And he's been underpaid in the past too. I do t care if he's worth a 12 million dollar cap hit or not. If everyone is healthy he will again be in that 60-80 catch range 800-1200 yards and 10tds. What do you think Watkins is going to do at 16 million per? That's what this is about

Hope you're right, but I think a lot of you are living in the past. In Nelson last year, I saw a guy in decline. From then to now? He's just another year older.
And I hope the team cares that he's got a $12m cap hit.

seems about right considering the market. it may end up a bargain price in time.

I'll give him he has a good YPC last year but he only caught about 50% of his passes and he had ample opportunity to be a key contributor on Seattle. He's a 3rd WR at best imo.

I'm happy the Vikings signed Cousins. He is not a top 1/2 of the league QB and he's getting paid that much. Go nuts Minnesota, you signed about the 20th best QB in football.

Kirk Cousins is easily a top 10 QB in the NFL. He's much more likely to be better in 2018 than Case Keenum or anyone else the Vikings could put on the field.

Green Bay should make a trade to secure a tight end for now and the future. Burton is off the table, as is Cameron Brate. Graham may want too much and/or returns to New Orleans. ASF? NO!!! The Green Bay Packers should trade their 6th or 7th rounder to the Kansas City Chiefs for TE Demetrius Harris. He will come cheap for this season, has great size, athletic (former basketball player from UW-Milwaukee), and with the trade GB would have leverage as he was an undrafted free agent rookie. A trade like this is risk adverse, because its inexpensive and Harris is not a rookie TE!!!

After free agency and the draft, I can see the Vikings as one of the top 3 teams picked to win the Super Bowl. Really the only players of note that they are losing from last year are Keenum, Bradshaw and maybe Bridgwater and it appears they just fixed that. I hate talking about the Vikings, but with their defense, Cook coming back and now Cousins, they are going to be a tough team to beat. If they get ahold of one more decent WR, look out.

They’re gonna be really good.

Silver lining— Cousins was the guy at QB who basically eliminates the need to draft someone and he went to a team that picks after us. CLE, NYG, DEN, NYJ, BUF, and MIA are all in front of GB and all of them could have interest in a QB. Outside shot at 5 going in the top 13. 4 seems like a foregone conclusion.

I figure at least 3, hoping 4 or 5.

I was just thinking that about 4 QB's seem a for sure... with a possibility of the fifth because there is a dropoff and that team might want to make sure... Arizona and San Diego could be forced to jump up to secure their future QB. Should all but guarantee us a very solid defensive player to immediately help.

his stats and play contradict that.

You're right about his stats. His play, no. I can't remember who said this but a radio show I heard this morning mentioned somebody from the Redskins said Cousins was basically a stat padder.

QBs I'd take ahead of him in 2018. Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Ben, Wilson, Ryan, Wentz, Cam, Stafford, Rivers, Luck, Watson, Garoppolo for certain (13).
Arguable but I'd take Carr, Mariotta, and Mahomes. (16)
Guys right after him are Smith, Prescott, Foles, Eli, Jameis, Bortles (22)
So just below average to me seems pretty accurate.

Easily top 10? *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess he's in Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Ben, Wilson, Ryan, Wentz, Cam, Stafford, Rivers, Luck, Watson, and Garoppolo's class. I could come up with 1 stat with a guy like Dak Prescott too but there are so many other things to look at.

First of all I highly doubt another team would be interested in trading for Cobb just because of how much money Watkins and Robinson received. In addition the Packers would have to adequately replace him if he's traded or released which might prove to be difficult considering those deals.

In line with your latter statement about Wilson, surely Cobb is becoming more and more affordable and interesting for some teams in need of WR’s?

I get what you are saying, but I might have rather have seen the Vikings so desperate for a QB, that they traded a bevy of picks to move up ahead of us with a team that wasn't looking at drafting a QB. When its all said and done, I think most people are right, 4-5 QB's maybe coming off the board before we pick. Whether that is by teams currently ahead of us or by teams that trade to jump ahead of another QB hungry team, Arizona, who are sitting at 15.

Oh for sure. It's just a silver lining. If I had my druthers, Cousins would be a Bronco or something and Minny would still be hunting.

Bold font, you must be serious. But I would prefer to draft a TE early 2nd round. The problem with this team is not enough veteran presence with defense. If they get Graham then that means less money to address the corner need.

There goes Colvin.

We’ll probably overpay Trumaine Johnson.
