That's not true. The Packers don't exactly have a dominant running game. If you expect Rodgers to throw for close to 4,000 yards and 35+ TDs, then there are PLENTY of balls to go around for all three to be elite. Keep in mind that 800 yards receiving would be elite production for a TE and it's very possible for Adams and Cobb to both get 1,000+ yards if everyone remains healthy. To be honest, it might be possible for both Cobb and Adams to be over 1,200 yards each if Ty stays at RB. Touchdowns are a little more random and I would expect both Adams and Graham to end up with more of those than Cobb.
Could be true. I guess I’ve come to expect injuries to play a role here and therefore expect more contributions from backups and RB’s in the passing game. I think it will be interesting to see if Adams is targetted to a much greater percentage by Rodgers and who will emerge as the deep ball threat.

While the Eagles almost exclusively used Matthews in the slot the Bills lined him up on the perimeter on more than half of his snaps.

And it didnt go well. But that is said to be more because Tyrod and injuries than Matthews ability.

With Gute being in on Allen Robinson it makes me wonder if a possible trade could work out between either the Cowboys or Giants. Both Beckham and Bryant are unhappy with their current situations and would be super fun opposite Adams. We have a ton of draft picks to make it happen.

Pass on Dez. We don't have a Jason Witten to get him to chill out when he has an emotional breakdown on the sidelines.

There's no doubt that both Bryant and Beckham would significantly improve the talent level at receiver but on the other hand the Packers would have to deal with some drama by acquiring one of them.

You can make the "too emotional" point for both of these players. Plus I dont see the Packers cutting Nelson to save cap space in the WR department, in order to pick up either a guy who wants to be the highest paid WR (if not player) in football, or the one who probably still has nightmares of Lambeau Field.

heh, we arent scared to make wrs happy. we just had 30+M in 2018 cap space tied to our wr crew. and if we were in on robinson we werent scared to spash post Jordy either. With Cobbs contract ending after this season there are a lot of options open going forward. If we are ready to allocate a ton towards Rodgers going forward, giving him the best in weapons we can would make sense.

Only way you consider either Beckham or Bryant is on a new contract. Bryant is being overpaid for the next 2 years, which is why the Cowboys might move on from him and Beckham only has one year left on an underpaid contract, which is why he is threatening to sit unless its re-worked.

Personally, I don't want either of them in Green and Gold. Talented guys, but both seem to have the "me first egos" that I don't like on a team.

The Packers would most likely release Cobb if they ended up acquiring Beckham or Bryant.

Bryant would absolutely not be worth the issues. Beckham, on the other hand, is worth a serious amount of drama, like Terrell Owens levels of drama. If healthy, it isn't outlandish to say that Beckham would be the odds on favorite to end up the best WR in Packers history by the end of his career if the team traded for him.

I agree that I would definitely prefer Beckham over Bryant.

a report i saw said obj for perry and our 1st pick. no way. perry maybe but not the pick. we'll need that pick to replace perry. a one year rental of beckham would be interesting. no way he could ever be signed though.

The Packers could definitely find a way to sign Beckham to an extension if they acquired him in a trade.

We could only be so lucky to replace our cap casualty of Perry for OBJ. But I dont see that happening.

Doubt they would have enough cap space not to release Cobb if that happened, unless Perry was part of the deal. As weak as we are with our pass rush, even with Perry not quite living up to his contract yet, I don't know how smart it would be to lose him too.

People were b*tiching about having Adams, Jordy and Cobb and all that money in the position, trading for and resigning Beckham would almost put us back to that cap hell with just 2 players to show for it.

I don't think there would be a lot of *****ing as the Packers would have one of the best receivers in the league though.

OBJ in this offense would be unreal hahah.

We'd score 50 points a game, who needs a defense!?!?

the other day when i said (in the signing reid thread) the only thing they should be looking at is making the team better, you said "That approach doesn't work because of the salary cap...". reid would be way cheaper than obj. this guy said he wants to be the highest paid player in the league lol. we'll already have that guy soon so signing obj is a silly notion. you take the one year rental and get a great compensatory pick.

First of all there's no Beckham will become the highest paid player in the league.

The difference being that OBJ, if the Packers can deal with his personality, would significantly upgrade a position in need of improvement while Reid might present a small upgrade at safety at best.

Therefore it wouldn't be smart to use several millions of cap space on Reid.

Maybe we can get #12 to chip in on Beckham's salary, I mean he wants to win some more SB's right? :coffee:

Also, it is important to note what Beckham said, so this wouldn't be a case of a one year rental at his current salary.

Beckham Jr will not set foot on a field without a new contract extension agreed to — with the #Giants or any team.

Also, I am not a fan of a player pulling this sh*t, "pay me more then the contract I signed in good faith says or I sit". I mean I get it, a team can cut a player that they feel they are over playing, but a contract is signed and a guy like Beckham threatening to sit it out, doesn't bode well with me.

he's got one year left at $8m. he'd be a fool to hold out and add to his already tarnished rep.

Any GM (or I guess financial guy in Ball?) worth their salt would be able to manage OBJ into our books and make it work considering how much cap we have moving forward from 2018. But I am not sure moving on from JPP's contract to Perry's is something the Giants would be openly working towards either.
