he's got one year left at $8m. he'd be a fool to hold out and add to his already tarnished rep.

Agreed, but he will get away with it. The Giants don't want to lose out on the chance of at least getting something (1st round + is the asking price) out of him. If he sits, he walks at the end of next year and they might get a comp pick out of the deal.

Also, have to wonder how he is doing with his recovery. That was one nasty injury the guy suffered.

I just called the Giants and told them Hundley has to be part of the deal, they are considering it.

heh, Hundley is pretty much out the door already as it is. We would need Perry's or Cobb's cap number to pick up OBJ and then everything is pretty wide open.

The Packers can't afford to trade Perry as the team doesn't have any quality depth at edge rusher.

cobb would be gone for sure if they were to try to actually sign him. the fit in GB would be almost be as improbable as him being paid $20+m there.

Eh, if you made the move from Perry you would definitely have to allocate at least 2 draft picks towards finding a pass rusher better than Fackrell and Beigel. But Gilbert could end up being a stop gap for the time being. Not even sure if you can really count on Perry all that much anyways.

As long as he's healthy Perry is definitely an impact outside linebacker. It would be extremely tough to adequately replace him with a rookie.

While Gilbert might develop into a decent player I definitely don't want the Packers to enter the season with Gilbert being pencilled in as a starter.

I think we could definitely manage. Perry has an impact, but he isn't a stud either. But it probably doesn't matter because it is doubtful the Giants move on from OBJ and there are teams a bit more desperate for a top tier WR than us willing to shell out for him.

Better yet, trade them Hundley, Cobb and our second rounder instead of our first and Perry.....you know, since we are dreaming.

This reminds me a bit of the Richard Sherman thing last year. The Giants are probably going to find out that although teams might have interest in Beckham, a 1st rounder and other picks might be too steep of a price. Remember, every team feels like they are going to pick the next OBJ in the first round.

you're forgetting obj wants elite qb money. that ain't happenin in GB without a huge salary dump. cobb would have to go.

I am not forgetting that at all. Dumping Perry to the Giants sheds 10+M off the books. We still have money to play with in the cap and you can factor in signing bonus's and what not. 2018 really wouldn't be much a problem at all. And for future purposes we have all the options for cap we want.

Of course if you can shed Cobb you do it. I would be hard pressed to imagine many teams want Hundley anymore. He will probably end up being released anyways.

I agree with Captain, one of the major points of this off season is to improve the defense, getting rid of Perry would be a major step in the wrong direction. I doubt the Giants would want Perry and his contract anyway. If the Packers are going to get better, they need to spend more on the defense, not the offense. Beckham may help add a score or two each game, but when you have a defense that can't stop many teams, a slightly improved offense isn't going to save your a** against the better teams that will light up your defense and find a way to slow down even Rodgers and Beckham.

Nobody is going to want Cobb and his contract in a trade and yes, if Hundley doesn't beat out Kizer, he would probably just be released, so his trade value is about zero.

There's no way any team will pay Beckham that kind of money.

Perry isn't an elite edge rusher but the Packers gave to hold on to him as the team doesn't have another viable starter on the roster.

Don't get me wrong, I would be in favor of acquiring Beckham and releasing Cobb even if that would add some millions to this year's cap.

Rams defense already scary and now they add Suh? Yikes.
And Philly still very solid all over.
And Vikes got a lot better with Cousins and Richardson.
NFC is a scary place to play this year.
Really hope that doesn't mean another free pass to SB for New England again. Their path was stupid easy this year.

Rams are "Paper Champs" right now and Im not 100 percent sold on Goff yet. Cousins has never really won anything and Philly is gonna have the bullseye on them.
Lets see how they handle being the Fav and trying to repeat.

I like our chances but we need to make a couple more moves and have a good draft.

Yeah. Because if there's a word for Brandon2348 it would be optimist.

All he's saying is the Rams are this year's off-season champs and I can't remember the last time that a team that held that title won a SB not to mention if Goff regresses all these moves don't mean nearly as much. That's if they can all actually mesh. There' ALOT of moving parts there.

The Vikings pretty much made a lateral move going from Keenum to Cousins. Sure Cousins is more the sure thing to be good again this comming year but compared to last year's Keenum it's kind of a wash.

And oh no it's not like we've seen SB hangovers year after year after year.

If Rodgers never goes down last year this team finishes 12-4/13-3 and are right there at the end also. They've added pieces just like other teams have and will continue to do so through the draft. Whether those pieces produce is why they play the season.

But if you'd rather play the "doom n gloom" card before the draft even takes place be my guest

Did anybody mention Beckham's little boating excursion in Miami with his receiving posse days before the 2016 playoff game against the Packers? Thanks, No Show O!

I wouldn't trade anything for him. And I wouldn't sign him if he were a free agent. There's more to winning than fantasy stats.

Bryant? C'mon. Yet another declining star? He'd have to be really cheap.

Matthews is a somewhat more attractive option if his health is right. Thumb, ankle and knee surgery along with some kind of sternum injury in the last year. Risky. And you'd have to think of him as a slot with Cobb departing. Not all that compelling except perhaps from a cap standpoint.
