There are quite a few good in-line blockers in the draft. Durham Smythe, Dalton Schultz, Will Dissly, those guys are all really good blockers. Not sure why you're saying there are no decent ones. That's very false.

It seems you have way too much leisure time to spend on evaluating prospects ;) I'm sorry but I don't know anything about the blocking abilities of tight ends expected to be selected on the third day of the draft.

Thanks for the info though.

I have a sick, sick obsession with the draft and have since I was a kid lol. I spend way too much time reading different scouting reports and watching tape. Plus I love college football, so knowing the players is a little easier since I've seen a lot of them play anyways. As a huge Miami fan, my first introduction to Tremaine Edmunds was watching him play Miami and having no clue who he was, and hating him because he was so dang good.

Little factoid: day 3 in-line blocking TE's are some of the best value players because they can play right away and have a 8+ year career. Every team needs one, even if only for special teams.

Wouldn't mind selecting one of those inline blockers on day 3. Better than wasting a pick on Fumagalli.

When I seen GB scouts chatting with him at the combine I felt . Luckily we went on to sign Graham.

Stop playing and offer DRC and Jordan Matthews one-year deals (3.5M and 4M respectively). Restructure Cobb's contract or offer him an extension at a lower annual salary over the next 3 years. Cobb is second only to Rodgers in salary cap hit...ridiculous!!! He is not worth 12m per year!!!

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/green-bay-packers/cap/

With Matthews at No. 2 and Cobb in the slot, GB lacks deep speed, but could still destroy teams with a time of possession strategy. With a more than adequate run game, along with the unlocked potential of a healthy Ty Montgomery (potential poor man's Lev Bell), Rodgers can slice and dice opposing defenses, while leaving opposing offenses off the field. This is what teams have been doing to Green Bay for years!!! Use the top three or four picks to supplement the defense. Let the running game complement AR12, and stop relying solely on his talents. Create an attacking and aggressive defensive scheme that will allow the youthful secondary to feed off the veteran front 7. Free agency is dwindling, and post-draft cuts will not drastically improve this roster. If they are willing to visit Green Bay...sign them!!!

I am seriously doubting that DRC is coming in at 3.5M. The only reason he is still out there is because he is biding his time to make a decision post draft.

The decision will be made for him post-draft. The only teams that can offer him money are all in rebuilding mode. Its a choice between winning/legacy or business/wealth. Couldn't get mad either way, but DRC is really the only CB left of consequence in free agency.

what's this dude's deal? only played 3 years but he's 28 years old. one good year and a bunch of missed time due to freak injuries. injury prone or just crazy accidents? legit potential at 28 years old or one flash-in-the-pan year?

That is a pretty scary injury history there. He should fit right in here.

Played really well in 2015, then broken leg each of past two years. If healthy, he's a solid player. I'd bring him in if we can get him for cheap.

I think this is a common phrase uttered by fans of the other 31 teams too at this time of the year. That and vet minimum.

Coming off 2 fractured fibulas and a bum shoulder I would think that he isn't going to be getting 4M. But who knows.

Dude is a crazy story. I think I read that he broke his back in H.S. before going to LSU. He had to go to the CFL, then the Saints signed him in 2015 and he had a very good year. Physical corner. Julio Jones had trouble with him. Then the broken legs.

I’m just happy to see the Packers trying to being in free agents. Ted Thompson did a great injustice to the Franchises chances at winning more SB’s because of his inability too aggressively use ALL resources to improve the roster.

Personally, I am really only interested in Breeland at this point. You think we could inspect his foot medically and know if he is going to get better or not. Maybe Carolina thinks the injury will affect his level of play.

I hope Gute got this list to Aaron for approval already. Not sure what is holding things up.

Packerwire article makes it sound like we are resigning House. Makes me think we will not go after any other CBs

maybe the Panthers saw the foot thing as way to get him cheaper than they originally planed?

You mean to tell me PFF doesn't have a section for that.:D:D

"1 year prove it deal" "vet minimum" and "Get him cheap" the three most overused phrases by arm chair GMs everywhere during the free agency period. the really committed ones will use all three at once.

The thing they rarely happen "vet minimum" almost never is "Get him cheap" is almost never as cheaply as said arm chair GMs have in mind and "1 year prove it deals" are almost never for 1 year and the player usually doesn't prove it.

I think that is the most diplomatic anti Ted post I have ever read ;) Usually it's Ted sucked because he never signed free agents.

Please note rodell that I am not saying you are anti Ted and I respect the wording of your post and I agree completely. I think even the most serious Ted supporters, and I am close to being one of them, would have a hard time arguing with this.

Delvin Breaux is coming in for a visit.

Awesome story. Broke his back in HS, still went to LSU, never played college football, went to the gridiron development league (???), then the AFL, CFL, and finally the Saints.

He's a big CB at 6'1 210 and seems to have good recovery speed. Hasn't played in a while due to fibula fractures, but his surgery was performed in GB by Robert Anderson (who works with the Packers) so they should have a good idea on his medical.

When healthy, he's really, really good. Better than Rashaan Melvin, same age, similar injury issues. Ross Uglem on twitter has a great thread on his play.

Watch that. Dynamic press corner.

If he's healthy, I think he's the top FA CB, even over those who have signed. Hopefully Tramon send some Louisiana love his way, because this would be huge for us.

I'm going to be very disappointed if we don't get him.

You guys left my favorite one out, which is used mainly when describing trying to resign or "renegotiate" current players....."He should sign a team friendly deal or a hometown discount".

Jordan Matthews: a guy who in just the least year underwent thumb, ankle and knee surgery, ending the season on IR. Sounds like a good fit.

If they sign Matthews I would expect a 2-fer 2018 cap swaperoo as with the Nelson out, Graham and Wilkerson in. This time it would be Matthews to play the slot, Cobb cut, and some other use with the remaining 2018 cap savings which I would hope would be rolled over to 2019 but I wouldn't expect it the way things are going.
