Thoughts on bringing in Crabtree for a 1 year deal?? He could easily be a #2... Jordy set to be a Raider...

Again thoughts? I am indifferent..

Although I like Crabtree, I think he is a definite downgrade from Jordy. But considering what FA WR's are getting paid, might be a decent option if the Packers think they need a vet to compliment Adams, Cobb and Graham.

If I had to guess, I don't see them spending much money on a FA WR and hope to fill the #3 with either Allison or a rookie.

Sounds like Jordy to Oakland is pretty much a done deal. Also, Sitton has a 2 yr deal 'in place' with Miami.

I wouldn't not call Crabtree a downgrade from Jordy. He's a better WR at this point of their careers. Jordy can't run, and lays down if he sees a defender within 5 yards.

Crabtree is good, but very very similar style wise to Adams. I would prefer a vertical threat, but I wouldn't be too mad about Crabs.

Mike Pouncey has asked for, and will be given his release from Miami. A 3 time all pro as a center, he's equally adept at guard. Would be a big signing for us, but since he refused a pay cut from nearly $8M this season, and he's sure to get big offers elsewhere, I don't think it'll happen here.

You could be right and as I said, I do like Crabtree but I still would prefer Jordy over him, mainly due to the chemistry that Jordy has with AR. If Crabtree can be signed at a reasonable price, I would prefer him over Allison or a Rookie as the #3 and for depth.

Will be interesting to see what the Raiders pay Jordy and what Crabtree ends up getting paid. The fact that the Raiders moved on from Crabtree and his $7.7M due, has me wondering why.

The #Dolphins are signing former #Bears OL Josh Sitton to a 2-year worth up to $18M, source. The base value is roughly $15M. Sitton is getting $8M guaranteed.

No thanks.

Sheldon Richardson in Minnesota today, like they need to improve that defense?

Maybe they feel like they do after looking the Packers defense for the last 6 quarters of the playoffs! Richardson would fit well as DT next to Joseph is one of the weak spots. Tom Johnson and Stephens free agents and a starting spot is open

I did the same lol

Not too long ago there was talk here of maybe Sitton coming back to Green Bay at a reasonable price to finish his career. This place would be in ashes had the Packers even paid close to that to get Sitton back.

Sheldon Richardson:

The Seahawks want to keep him but not at what he reportedly is asking. Seattle has offered Richardson a deal worth $11 million a year

Even if the Packers sign Melvin, as I hope they do, I also hope they let the market play out on one of these older guys (DRC, McCourty) and bring one in on a more modest contract.

I keep running into the name "Rashaan Melvin" as being the CB most likely to end up in Green Bay now. Based on the little I have read on the guy, let's get it done! LOL

He can still play, but the Packers really need someone who can threaten deep and back safeties off. Crabtree brings skills that they already have.

He's probably the best available guy right now but he comes with a pretty huge risk. Only one good year and has been hurt ALOT.

If he's the guy we pick up to start opposite King we still need one more pickup at the position AND still draft a guy high.

No matter where anyone stands on the signings so far none of it means a thing if we go into the season with our current crop of CBs plus a rookie or two. We NEED a plug n play starter

I don't want anything to do with Pouncy. I don't even want to think about the things he probably did while in the aaron hernandez crew at FL.
