Some FA’s I’d still like to see us pursuit:
Rashaad Melvin, Tyvon Branch, DRC, Junior Galette, Honey Badger (a man may dream. Good night)

Updated wishlist as FA has progressed

CB: Claiborne, Melvin, Honey Badger
Pass Rush: Barwin, Lynch
OL: Pugh, Fluker
WR: Matthews
Definately need a cb and possibly two. Pugh would be a perfect addition to the OL. Has experience at G and T. Matthews could be a cheap addition to the wr group and Barwin or lynch could be cheap depth. I realize that probably require a restructure or two but would really let us draft BPA with a ton of draft picks

Last season Melvin allowed only 29 receptions on 55 targets as well as a passer rating of 60.3 ranking 10th best in the league.

I see a lot of people pretty pumped on this guy. I checked out his wikipedia page, anyone know why he was cut so many times? Doesn't exactly shine a good light on him.

I was interested in Melvin until I saw his injury history. With Lovat still around the last thing I want to invest in is a guy with a long hamstring injury history.

I would be very interested in seeing the Pack bring in Revis. Clearly he is a shell of his former Revis Island self but he is still better than most of the UDFA's on the roster now. The reason I want him though is because when Pettine did his best work at DC, Revis was his shut down corner. There is no veteran leadership for the corners and to have a guy like this who knows pettine's system in and out and also knows how to prepare, practice and play like a pro would be a huge plus IMO. I think he could help make everyone else better. Who is King going to look up to know and model preparation, work and play after....Rollins?

The Chiefs cut him with a 6 mil deal so I would think he could come on a 3 year deal with incentives.

He can come on a 1 year deal for the vet minimum with zero signing bonus. That's how much faith I have that he has anything left to give anyone.

Melvin didn't break out until last season. While I would like the Packers to pursue him he might be a risky signing because of it.

It would be a waste of money signing Revis. There are better options available to upgrade the position and bring in veteran presence.

nfldraftscout doesn't seem to have Melvin's numbers up any more, but he came out at a long (6'2"), fast (4.42) corner with good jumps and a poor three cone as I recall. In his three seasons at NIU, cfbstats has him with 6 interceptions and a whopping 30 PBU's.

So it would see he's a long, fast press corner with ball skills and questionable change of direction-- the type of guy who needs to get his hands on the receiver at the LOS and control the route.

Meanwhile, in Detroit, the LOLns are preparing to solve their run game woes with a 35 year old running back. What could go wrong?

How dare you insult the king Frank Gore!

Oh if only he had stayed healthy. He's played over a decade after tearing both ACL's in college. One of my favorites ever.

But yeah, Detroit is dumb. I still can't laugh at Gore though.

Melvin is a late bloomer who hasn't been able to stay healthy.

An incentive laden contract is the best bet with him.

Frank Gore's indomitable spirit versus Detroit's black hole of a rushing attack. It's going to be a real battle of the titans.
