Maybe I'm wrong but I think Walker plays better with Cooper.
You may be right, but time and again we see Walker make really boneheaded errors. I don't really know what to make of him.

But Hafley keeps slapping that green dot on the back of his helmet, week after week. I guess he knows something we don't.

Eedit: and Walker deserves credit for outgrowing those stupid, unnecessary drive-extending penalties that he was famous for his first couple of years. That used to frustrate the hell out of Lafleur, but he patiently worked with Walker and got him past that. I really didn't think it was something that could be coached out of him.

One of my best buddies from high school is a professor of physics and astronomy. It's his dream job; he just loves it.

This is a guy who once was talking to another friend about how much LSD they did. One friend said he'd taken acid about 12-15 times. Alan thought about it for a moment and said, "I've done it about 40 times I think". Everyone overhearing the conversation was shocked, and someone asked him,"Over how many years?" Because we were all only about 15 or 16. Alan said, "Oh, I mean this summer."

Hard to believe he turned out the way he did. Very responsible, over-achieving guy. He and his wife own a medium sized farm, he teaches at the local university, they have a very popular and successful band, organize a large regional annual music festival, and he has his own radio show once a week. I think he produces a line of maple syrup every year as well. I don't know if anyone who knew him 50 years ago could have ever seen that coming.
If I recall Lombardi had to teach a number of subjects while he coached HS football at St. Cecilia's. I believe they were math and science courses.

Something else I just realized. Our Defense just held Geno Smith to his

2nd lowest Passer rating (77.4) in a game this season (49ers)
2nd worst Point Spread (-17) in a game this season (Bills)
2nd lowest YAC in a game this season
(49ers)

Really quality job there by Hafley n Co

I wonder what it would be like, having Lombardi as a teacher? I'm sure he took the responsibility seriously.

Another thing I just thought of. RD is obviously a man who does not feel comfortable talking about his accomplishments. He is always quick to point out that the team comes first and its his team mates who deserve the credit. Reporters need to quit asking him questions like "which catch were you most proud of" These questions put him on the spot and force him to do what he doesn't want to do which is talk about himself. He handled it well but I could sense his discomfort.

Very good observation and I agree. The problem is, the reporters are all about themselves and could care less about the mental health of Romeo or any other player for that matter. Oh sure, probably nice people outside their jobs, but they are taught to ask the hard questions, break the big story, no matter the consequences.

Not sure he's on the verge of "snapping", but there's something other than his job on his mind. I hope for his sake he can sort through things. He's a very modest guy with a lot of talent.

And we've all been through it, when personal matters intrude on our work. Hopefully it's nothing more than that and he'll get over it or through it.
I'm not saying he is on the verge, I mean I guess it did sound like I said that but what I meant is that he could be. He also could be no where close to being on the verge. It might be a very fine line. It all depends on how he deals with any issues he may be facing. On his first TD against the Seahawks he seemed to be acting as you might expect a player to act after just scoring but on the second one he was walking on the sidelines with a very serious look on his face. Not something one would necessarily expect from a player who just made a spectacular catch. Admittedly I did not see his reaction immediately after that catch. Its possible he gets excited the calms down very quickly.

Regardless I am sure I speak for all Packer fans who hope this is something he can get over or through as you said. That is if there is in fact something to get over. It may be just the way he is.

In general I agree but the "which catch were you most proud of" question came from Larry McCarren. As an ex player I would expect more from him. To give LM the benefit of the doubt and I guess to a degree most reporters, these post game locker room interviews are done on the fly and they might not have a lot of time to form their questions in a more appropriate manner.

Larry seems like such a genuine guy I bet it’s the latter. I’ll only say that I would agree that it seems like something is “off” with Romeo.
I pray I’m wrong, just my gut.

The Vikings are very good. However they do not look scary good. I think Seattle is Good but makes too many mistakes. 3 INT 11 Flags will not Win many games. The Packers played Seattle better last week than what we saw today. The Vikings are beatable for the Packers at MN if we go in with the proper mindset.

Buffalo Won, but they were 1 INT TD from losing to a 3-11 Patriots team in Buffalo. They are very good, but not unbeatable at all.

The Redskins benefited from Jalen Hurts going down, but I’ve watched them the last 2 weeks. That Jayden Daniels is crazy good for a Rookie QB. But I’d take Love over Daniels at this juncture. Daniels is in that Rookie area decision process. He’ll win a game or lose a game for you. Great legs underneath him runs like a Gazelle.

PS. Saquon is amazing behind a great OL. He wasted 4 years in NY. Projecting 2,083 Rushing 5.9 per +
15 TD’s On the ground alone.
Another 313 Receiving 2 TD’s.

Saquon won’t beat LaDainian Tomlinson or Adrian Peterson 16 game seasons though.

I'll go out on a limb and say that Romeo doesn't have problems. He walked away from the team and came right back. Why is it all of football's right to know why? I don't think it is. I don't blame him for not enjoying talking to reporters. Even if they are nice guys. He does not really want to "share" and I could not care less about that. I remember when Sterling did not talk to reporters. I loved it. I don't have to know what's going on in his life. There is probably a bare minimum that he has to talk to them and that should be enough. I'm tired of the "oh he shows so much emotion." -bfd. Like that is the most important thing. Not to me. And there will always be a lot of players that do and want to anyway. I would prefer if we would all just let him be and maybe he will want to stick around. Just my two cents.

Good points there. Makes me think us Packers fans all want the best for Romeo. He was a diamond in the Day 3 Rough.
That said as far as a “new” contract. I’d have to take Watson over Romeo. It’s harder to find a deep threat than a possession WR imo. Just from a business perspective. If it was a tiebreaker, Watson wins getting dealt a big contract. I’ll side on potential injury over potential personal issues. Not showing up for practice without any communication is very unusual and very concerning. The reason we talk about Romeo isn’t that we each believe he’s a bad guy. I think that incident left a dark cloud over us being confident it won’t happen again.
I like Romeo. Nothing personal but I think GB can go out and get a Day 2 WR that will perform similar or better but at a fraction of what WR command in salary. Doubs is easier to replace than Watson and at less cost imo.
Fully Respect you defending him. We all need opportunity to get past a mistake. For me it’s more about who’s easier to replace and at what cost. Watson won’t be easy to replace he cost us 2 Top 59 draft selections and being the incumbent drafting team that gives us first right of refusal of sorts (not legally just emotionally) I’d retain Watson. I’d take Watson at $17m yearly over Doubs at $12 yearly. I’ll go get a top 60-130 selection and plug out Offense with that cheap Rookie $$ for 4 years. Not to mention we need to overlap a Rookie WR contract anyway from a Roster building perspective (skipped 2024 at WR).

I don't blame him. These reporters ask ridiculous questions not to mention always asking the coaches question after question when the head coach needs to be coaching during play.
NFL must've said you've got to answer their questions.

I don't think you just skip practice without there being some sort of problem. It sounds like when team officials went to his house he was there. He just took the day off is what it sounds like to me. I am sure there was a good reason for it, at least in his mind as he certainly doesn't come off as a slacker to me (Ala DeVondre Campbell.) In fact he seems to be the opposite, a player driven to succeed more in the vein of an Amon Ra St. Brown. Now that guy is driven but he's also a wacko (just kidding about the wacko part but he really seems to be driven.) I do not feel that we as fans are entitled to know the reason RD skipped practice but I do feel that as fans we have the right to be skeptical if no reason are forthcoming. I may have missed something but as far as I know all that was said was that things were discussed and everyone was fine with it. It certainly looked as if that was the case the following week. Still, if it happened once there is no reason to think that it couldn't happen again. I don't know what it is or even if it is anything but I do think it goes a bit beyond a Sterling Sharpe just not liking talking to reporters thing.

Romeo missed practice sessions due to "some things going on mentally." Essentially siting mental health concerns as the reason for his absence.

I guess if I were to break down and compare what he and De'Vondre Campbell did, I would come up with this. While both players refused to perform duties that they were both contractually obligated to do, I feel that Campbell's actions were more selfish and damaging to the team. Campbell suited up for a game, which takes away one roster spot. He refused to play because he was angry that a better player became healthy and started ahead of him. His refusal to perform his duties played out on the sidelines, during a game. I consider that a huge distraction and basically mutiny.

While Romeo would have been better off talking to the coaches before deciding to stay home and skip practice, I don't think it was as big of a distraction to the team. Maybe Romeo wasn't coping well with things happening in his job, family issues, personal problems, etc., but at least he chose a much less distracting and I feel damaging way of dealing with it.

I do like the fact that the Packers suspended Romeo for a game. I think that was a clear message that while they support him and any mental health issues, he needs to be in better contact with the staff and work through those issues with them.

Final thought. I have heard and seen nothing but team and fan support for Romeo. The opposite has occurred with Campbell.

Thanks for that. I hadn't heard that anyone, either RD or the team had given any explanation. Again, not that we are entitled to one but it does help us understand and in this case helps relieve some concerns that we as fans may have that it could happen again.

As for the rest of you post I agree 100%.

The other thing I would add about the "Romeo Dobbs Situation". Possibly, other players were/are going through similar things that Romeo went through. I can't help but think that they watched what unfolded with Romeo and the Packers and it made them feel more secure about approaching the staff, letting them know that they too could use some help working through their own "mental issues".

It is sadly "funny", that mental illness's can have a bad stigma attached to it. I guess I don't view a problem with your brain as any different than an issue with an injury to another portion of your body. People will talk all day about a blown out ACL and not blink an eye. Sadly, you mention "mental illness" and some people get quiet, envision "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" and don't want to talk openly about it.
