Should there be a rule?

The Saints signed Jenkins recently and now are looking at Antonio Brown. Should there be a rule that at some point in the season, a team has to go with what they have the rest of the way? There is enough of buying championships in all sports already imho.

I’m fine with it. Jenkins was cut and is deserving of a job somewhere. Can’t force teams to keep people and I don’t think you can bar from a new job for situations that don’t include discipline.

football is different than basketball or baseball. It takes time to make a team, they don’t have time. If they want to try, let them.

That's likely knee jerk to not wanting Saints to improve, but if they sign Brown, nothing was holding other teams back from doing the same. Guys that aren't on teams right now aren't on teams for good reasons. If they're willing to take the risk and it pays off, so be it.

The Packers signed Andre Rison in late November of 1996 when they were getting thin at WR. Without Rison do the Packers beat the Patriots in the SB?

The NFL is a level playing field with the salary cap and all teams abide by the same rules. Most teams will keep some of the cap available for late season acquisitions to replace injured players or shore up a weak position.

Good point. Football is somewhat different. The salary cap comes into play. But you are right. There has to be some restrictions.

I don't have a problem with this. Anyone could still make Brown an offer.

Heck, if the Packers wanted to sign Brown, they could have done so when the Pats released him. Dez Bryant is out there. Jordy, James Jones.....

Now if the Packers really want to make a run at the Super Bowl, there is an unemployed WR that would probably ride into town on a moments notice!

There's a rule in place preventing NFL from buying championships with a hard salary cap.
