Another question: "Were the redskins that good, or were the Packers that bad?"

Case in Point: Even the Lions came to life over the Patriots last night.

It was dreadful for a half and fantastic for a half.

I respect the job Pettine did to adjust, but he can't have stretches that are that disastrous pre-adjustment. The game plan or in-game adjustments simply have to be better. They allowed touchdown drives of 75, 79, 98, and 74 yards all in one half. That is completely unacceptable. Some of it was poor execution. A couple of the DPI calls seemed ticky tack, but House's was egregious and the DB's could have done a better job on all of them (save perhaps Alexander's). But much of it was TE's not being properly accounted for by the defense. On the other hand, the five real drives of the 2nd half resulted in 4 punts and a field goal.

In fairness, I think the Washington football team made their own adjustments after half and got way, way conservative. Not to take away from our own halftime adjustments and good defense in the second half, but it was a different offense we were facing.

I think the problem is (in my opinion) we do not fix the problems it seems like we just ignore them we obviously need to upgrade safety.
There is some guys in free agency they could look at.
If they do not want to sign Reid they could try Mike Mitchell granted i do not know much about him but surely he is a upgrade over Brice.
What about John Simon surely he is a upgrade over Fackerell

At this point, Reid’s own attorneys I’m sure have advised him to sit this out at this point and not entertain offers I’m not even sure are being made.

He’s be nice, but it isn’t happening. And if it did, I have a feeling it would just be 1 more marked man on the team with the league trying to teach lessons thru officiating

At this point I can only see a team grabbing him at the trade deadline if they have a run of injuries at safety. Otherwise I don't believe anyone will want to deal with potential backlash from their fans or the league.

Where do you start with this defense? No pass rush, red zone intensity of a dropped slushy on the sidewalk, glaring penalties, lapses in the secondary. Pathetic. Ol Dom is getting the last laugh as he is probably relieved to not have to coach this mess.

That was a hallmark of Ted's reign as GM, I think he's still a strong influence in the current administration.
