If he truly did try and talk potential free agent out of signing with GB, perhaps renaming him “Benedict” Rodgers May work?????

I can’t stand all of this......

This might be an insight on what Mike McCarthy was putting up with when he was here...I guess Management took AR's side. This might have created an unstoppable monster.

You're confusing two very different items. One whether any trade calls were taken vs what I'm saying is Rappa-****** said the Packers told Rodgers they were going to trade him - which was absolutely refuted by Gute a couple times in one presser and others.

No my point was it's been shown the Packers FO was lying when speaking to the media in the recent past...why couldn't gute be lying on the comments you're referring to

I certainly want him back, but it is obvious he is a little nuts. I hate mommy and daddy, hot *** chicks, and the team that padded his pockets 200 million. So, who has the real problem, i'd say it's the one involved with many issues. Hopefully this is just smoke, but I'm doubting it.

None of us can play qb like Aaron Rodgers so I guess we have the problem...

If we're talking about winning football games

To counter this, and Gute was setting there trying to trade up for two WRs which he felt were worth the move - never came to be, and he had a TOP flight guy dropping past where in his opinion he had zero reason to be (right, wrong or indifferent). Gute saw a chance to grab a reserve plan for the future when no WR happened, on a QB that outside of tanking or having lightning strike twice would never have access to in a draft.
That's Gute's story and he's sticking to it. Regardless, anyone would have been better for the immediate future of the Packers at that point than Love. Literally anyone. If there wasn't anyone there that he liked, he always had the option to trade back and then he would've been able to snag one of those 2nd round receivers that he supposedly tried moving up in the 2nd round to get as well.

Different mindsets I suppose. I'll never like it until Love shows me it was worth it.
Both sides are not blameless and it is ignorant to think otherwise in my opinion.

Both sides are to blame and it is ignorant to think otherwise in my opinion.
You're not going to get anywhere with me on this, seeing as how I've made it abundantly clear that there is plenty of blame to go around. I just happen to feel the need to fight back against what is almost the conventional wisdom that the Packers hold little to no blame.

After todays reports of Rodgers turning down the massive offer to be the highest paid QB in football ....and he turned it down. Well folks ,I'm finally thinking that's the final nail in the coffin as far as him ever returning to us. I came up with an idea that would benefit both sides of this impasse .First ,the Packers finally accept the fact that he's not going to play for us again ....and start to explore trade options. If by June 1rst their is no change in Rodgers heart we release a press conference telling the public that Aaron Rodgers has made it clearly known that he wants to no longer resume his career in GB and wants to be traded to another team. It saddens us that such a great player wants to move on from us but we will try to meet his wishes and explore other options. We would like to thank
Aaron for all that he has done for this franchise and we wish him all the best in the future. He has been the face of the franchise and thank him for all he has done for us. Going this route will accomplish two things. First ,we look like a class organization doing this, instead of the dirt that has been spread around the last few days. We are the Green Bay Packers...a proud and long standing organization who's heritage is built on winning and excellence. We care for all in Packer family ....once you are a Packer, you will always be a Packer!!!It will look to others that we do care for our players...not the guys who will not listen to others except ourselves. Two... Rodgers will be able to move on and do what he wants with the rest of his career, and he leaves in good standing. It's win -win situation for both sides. yes we lose a HOF once in a lifetime QB....but with our expected haul in trade return, we should be able to rebuild a bit and return again to playoff participants ,as long as Gutey is smart and hits on his draft picks. Arod will go where he wants.. and when he retires... we will welcome him with open arms in Packer Hall of Fame. Obviously this is only a dream scenario, but it makes us and him leave amically and the mud slinging will stop. But one thing...I hope it opens up Murph and Gutes minds, and they will take a closer look at how they run things now, and to make changes in the future so something will not happen like this again. In keeping with the belief that we will do what's best for the GBP's, don't put your foot down and refuse to trade Arod just on the principal to prove a point. You will have to move on from him sometime, and lets try to make the best of it and get some draft/players capital in return. This rift is unfixable.....Hopefully you will make the right choice and move on.

It would be almost comical if McCarthy opened his mouth on this mess. I don’t think he will.

Sadly, I think we probably will get an answer to our debate, unless the Packers decide to call his bluff and he retires. If he is traded, we will get to see just how valuable he was to another team and like I said, my guess is that we get less than what some expect, especially those like yourself.

Let me ask you this, what do you predict (not expect or hope for) the Packers get in a trade, if one takes place?
I’m just having fun entertaining the idea not trying to be controversial.

1. Give us a choice of either a #2 type LB (Baron Browning etc..) or # 2WR etc or DL/backup QB

2. A 2022 1st and 3rd

3. A 2023 2nd and 3rd (but under circumstances I’d settle for a 2nd here)

No I did not. I said that teams will not be reluctant to acquire Rodgers because of the laughable claim he would wreck the locker room or create chemistry issues. You're reading what you want to believe.

Then if that is the case, we should get a ton for him :)

You still haven't given me your prediction for what the Packers will get in a trade. :whistling:

Interesting you should say that. You just reminded me. Many of us a few years ago said there would be a common denominator that would come out in the wash sometime in the future. That was in regard to past personnel conflicts.

Folks.
I think we found our common denominator is 12

Making the point as to why us Rodgers defenders are always ready to throw the anti Rodgers crowd off of buildings. As soon as he sneezes in the wrong direction it's off to the races in the blame game.
I wasn't anti Rodgers until his behavior warranted it. I was his biggest fan for a lot of reasons. I thought that he dealt with the Favre BS about as good as anyone could or should have. Then this. Go pound sand Rodgers. Do us all a favor and do whatever you are going to do so that we can move on like most adults do. A lesson that you apparently haven't learned EVER! Hold grudges, get even, *** for tat, this for that, etc. It's old news. I really look forward to your new teammates seeing that sour **** look on your face when they don't perform up to your standard. Worst team guy I have ever seen. Favre may have had a separate dressing room but he at least acted like he enjoyed himself. You aren't even capable of that. Good riddance.

But Gute then should have gotten way out in front of the Rodgers trade rumor and shut it down from the get go
Maybe, but if you're a GM and there are trade rumors flying around you might get curious to see just what you might be able to get from Rodgers. Not because you want to pull the trigger necessarily, but just to know. But then you're failing the team by not keeping your QB happy. That's why GMs get the big bucks.

I remember Sterling Sharpe pulling some crap like this the day before the season opener. Packers caved and got him to stay..only to see him get hurt and never play again.

Rodgers has been such a **** I'd really like to Packers to refuse to trade him. So he retires. Good riddance.

I'm having a hard time buying that he honestly "tried" to nab a receiver. There were PLENTY of receivers in both the first and second round iirc, and not only does this man trade up but he does so in order knab a QB. And then a RB in the second round. Actions speak louder than words. And Gute showed his hand.

So, I'm confused why I've seen no reports mentioning the possibility that Rodgers shows up and just "pulls his hamstring" or claims some other soft tissue injury; he'd still get paid but would basically be sitting out (I mention soft tissue because those injuries are hard to see on most scans).

It would obviously be the nuclear option for Rodgers but I'm curious if I'm missing something about this not being a thing that's ever mentioned?

Gute has made it abundantly clear he doesn’t look for “a” (insert position) player. He had 2 at times he made it sound like 3 WRs he wanted, he didn’t just want any wideout. MASSIVE difference.

3 first round picks and 2 quality starters...has to be the starting point if that was what the Seahawks turned down for Russell Wilson, right?

Wilson is great but certainly no Rodgers

And I agree if gute falls for the he's a locker room problem bs and takes less he's even dumber than I thought

I doubt Rodgers would ***** out like that. He is way too much of a competitor and it would hurt his legacy if he did that. And he's all about legacy.

Besides being a **** move on his part and he himself would know that he did it, it really wouldn't serve his apparent desire and that is to be traded, so he can play. All it would do is cost the Packers his salary and land him on IR, still under contract as a Packer for 2022 and 2023.

For a guy that's all about legacy he's currently really ******** all over his Packers legacy.
