Just noticing what page number we are on.....Mods can we get an estimate of what thread was the longest in Forum history? I want to place some bets on whether this thread will make it to that level.

BTW.....Fire Capers already!

Outside of the shoutbox archive which doesnt count. The actual longest real thread is the Aaron Rodgers performance thread which started in 2008.

The Packers have 3 SB appearances with almost 30 years of HOF QB play. I mean let’s let that sink in for a minute. And only 1 with Rodgers under center. No franchise has waisted more talent at the QB position than the Packers have.
The ironic part is all 3 SB appearances had 3 of the best (if not the 3 best) defenses in that timespan. That should tell you everything about paying a QB ridiculous money if the rest of the team suffers

So, the talk is always......the front office doesn’t give Rodgers any help.
LT......#1, top 3 at least
LG......top 5, pro bowl
C....last year #1
TE.....#1 in TD’s
WR1.....top 3
RB top 3
Edge rushers very good
DT ......KC top 5
CB1.......pro bowl
Safeties.......very good
Yes, mostly drafted by us.........GM’s have done a good job keeping us in the running.
We have the best QB, but he is a bitc% at times.

That's what I surmised all along. Rodgers wants a contract that ties him to the Packers for 4+ years so they can't replace him. Gutey wants flexibility knowing a downturn is coming eventually (and there were strong signs of it in 2018 and 2019).

If what he wants is a contract that essentially kills any chance of Love ever playing and guarantees him a roster spot even if he takes a sharp decline like Brees, then get rid of him.

Thought I wanted attention to the fact which seems to be lost.

AR wants an extension. He wants to play for us. He wants to end his career with us. The restructuring was all about extension, not money.

It's just us (Gute) who say otherwise. Are we really justified in villifacation of a player who WANTS to be here?

Get a grip, lads!

I really hope this is true..

37 pages in 5 days... if this saga prolongs all the way to June 1st, 200 is in reach.... need some more unsubstantiated rumors though to keep it fresh.

My Brothers friends butchers neighbor of his 4th cousin twice removed was talking to his sisters husbands former postal carrier who heard from an anonymous source that this is just an elaborate April Fools Joke that Rodgers got permission from the FO to play.

This guys hasn't seen an NFL field yet, and last competition he faced was in the Mountain West.. Let's let this kid actually see some preseason time before you say ANYTHING about what this team could be. Cause videos like these are the only insights we have into how Love is as a QB right now

Most impressive and meaningful Wisconsin related sports training footage I've seen since that time Yi Jianlin posted up a chair in the Bucks pre-draft workouts tbh imho fwiw

So I've not been on here in over a week I think, and saw this massive thread. I've only read the first 8 pages then skipped to the end.

As much as AR is most definitely one of the GOATS, if what has been said at the start of this thread is true, then he can GTF. Talent can only override petulance for so much and so long. we have given him contracts when he has demanded to be the best paid in the NFL, and we did it. we have built a team that has continuously been contenders. his reticence at times to be a bit gung-ho because he has to be perfect has been detrimental to the team. and then there is the contract, is it smart to give a 37 yr old a $45M contract, using up 25% of the cap on one person?

we all know we will have to move on eventually from him. and most of us, me included, probably hope this would be a few years away yet. and if it happens like this, it will certainly leave a bad taste in the mouth for both AR and FO

Are you for real? Yeah, they heard Rodgers praise him and then decided they needed to show Rodgers who was boss and cut him.

Or, he was at his ceiling, it wasn’t very high, and a younger more athletic WR was kept to try and develop over an older unproductive guy that had no more room to grow on cut down day. It was hardly a surprise.

Kummerow? Please. He might be a nice guy but we've already seen his ceiling.

I kind of agree that this is between him and team mgmt. After a time though I think it’s appropriate for both him and the coaching staff to keep his teammates in the loop. Rodgers is the on field leader of all the players.

Yeah, and I am positive that most of his teammates will privately agree with Rodgers because most employees don't choose the boss's side. Fans are the only group that almost always picks management over employees.

You do realize that one of the reasons that teammates/employees usually agree, is because they have a collective vested interest right?

Also, I see many posters being objective, while looking at this from both sides, not just automatically saying "management is always right" or "I'm a total employees guy, so Rodgers must be right."

Saw this vid on Andrew Brandt's twitter regarding the GB front office "managing" the personalities & egos back when AR was drafted. Interesting perspective on "walking the tight rope" and massaging egos... nothing has changed 16 years later except the participants.

I wish I knew what Rodgers teammates are feeling IF these reports are in fact true. Imagine being Bob Tonyan (3.3 MIL) or Allen Lazard ($750,000) and you see your leader crying over commitment, millions more than you make, Jake Kumerow and Jordan Love. These guys work their *** off every day for Rodgers. These guys FIGHT for a roster spot. The Packers took TE's in the third round in back to back years and drafted someone they hope becomes a WR2 in the third round this year.
Again, if these reports are true (which it is difficult to believe otherwise when QB1 is staying silent), Rodgers is being a child. His teammates will not trust him. The locker room will be an ugly situation and the Packers will NOT win games with that kind of a culture. Get a serious 2022 return for him, call 2021 a rebuilding year and watch him flounder in an organization where he has no one to throw the ball too, no one to protect him and a coach he will resent by November.
I have faith in MLF, the Oline and run game alone to put points on the board and stay competitive. The defense could have the best secondary in the league. The Packers will be competitive. Will they be contenders in 2021 without Rodgers? No. Could they get further in playoffs than whatever team Rodgers ends up at? Hell yes. Do I want to lose QB1? No, but he created this situation. At a minimum he enabled a situation where someone in his camp leaked this information IF he was not the primary source of the "leaked" information himself. The Packers DID NOT leak this information and the Packers have stayed even keel. All we have heard from the organization is that we are not trading Rodgers and we want him on our team in 2021 and beyond.

There are 4,357 other threads for that. You can hash out all the reasons in there. I'll also let it sink in that just the last one we had to get to a Super Bowl, the "lesser" QB tossing INT's and relying on a defense tossed a 20+ yard pass play to his TE in a big moment when his team needed it for a 1st down. The other superior QB went like 0-3 at the goal line and couldn't get a 1st down after 2 out of 3 lat game turnovers. The QB's have played their parts in not playing in SUper Bowls.

@GigaPaladin

why the disagree??

KC had better offense weapons..and still lost to tampa. Common denominator was pack and kc missing starting ol
Who says offensive lines don't matter? Bucs had a good, healthy O-line and four of the top five receiving talents in that Packers game (1. is Adams then #s 2-5. Evans, Godwin, AB, and Gronk). Not even sure Scotty Miller is maybe even better than Valdes-Scantling given how inconsistent Marquez is (then it would be 5 of the top 6t receivers) but I would probably give Marquez the slight edge there.

Yes, teammates usually agree because they have a vested interest as they're all employees, that's what I was saying.

And yes, there are many on either side, I just tend to view the, "management should trear the employee like an unfeeling robot" crowd with a bit more disdain.
