Mainly because they have good physical traits, and have been successful early on . Also. I'm pretty sure Hundley just has a dark tan from all that Wisconsin sun....

yea Goff and Wentz don't have good physical traits and they haven't been successful at all early on right?

So how do you know it wasn't scripted? Or know what they did at halftime?

b/c it was obvious LOL

a lot of times the team goes NO HUDDLE or more "up tempo" to catch the defense off guard when they script plays

Um... against a defense like the Vikings you DEFINITELY want to do that

OK.. Let's not turn this into something what you are implying..

Thanks

lol

I never compared Hundley to any body...

I've stated over and over again I believe he has the physical tools to be very successful in the NFL
The smarts(I hope) from what the coaches have said and the fact he went to UCLA
And the right attitude

... i never went around comparing him to anyone

How sure are you that hudley knew how to run the 2 min offense?.

If he didn't know how to run it like Rodgers, that's asking for a disaster..

He should know how to run it somewhat...but with no reps, I'm. Thinking there are things he just wasn't ready to do

I think Hundley has the makings of a Dak Prescott, or Texans rookie Watson. Come out unproven, and prove they belong. Hundley has the advantage of 3 years in the same system.
I had many responses to this post... all of which I thought better of....

no ****, I've already defended Hundley about not having reps

Actually his first 2 interceptions could be due to lack or reps, game prep, film review, etc

But I STILL would have run scripted plays..

This isn't "rocket science" here.
The smart thing to do if you're OC or HC is to go up to Hundley at halftime, obviously address the situation and discuss/select/share plays that Hundley is comfortable running

Welp. This will be a literal wasted year because I highly doubt we'll see any major changes in the offseason. I think that's the most depressing part for me

Was this a SB team with Rodgers? Absolutely not. We've seen one guy doesn't equal championship. Are they a playoff team now? No shot.

As Bill Parcells once said: "You are what your record says you are." This team was 4-1 coming into this game and has a lot of talent on it besides Rodgers... Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Clay Matthews and Mike Daniels, to name a few. All of these guys would be welcome on a team looking to win the Super Bowl. Do I think we'll win it all with Hundley behind center? Not a chance. But we would certainly have a legit shot with Rodgers or a decent veteran in his place.

TT needs to be fired this offseason.

TT isn't the problem. Injuries and our vastly overrated DC are.

The thing with the game is...

The Vikings have a good defense, that should be KNOWN

You want to keep the game up temp/no huddle/ fast paced to catch them off guard

With scripted plays/game plan you can obviously do that

Unless you have inside info you aren't telling us about, you have absolutely no idea what was done or not at halftime. Or no idea if plays were scripted.

It's ridiculous to act like you know what they did at halftime and know if plays were scripted or not.

so....

If you have plays scripted you don't really need a huddle right? Because everything is already planned.

That's the WHOLE point, so you can go fast paced on offense with no huddle to keep the defense off balance

didn't appear that way, would have been more "up tempo" like I said if it was done
To reference you...

Maybe that was something hudley wasn't ready for? Up tempo stuff..

We don't know...

However, knowing some things from inside, I don't think MM would put hudley in any position that he wasn't comfortable with.

The point is you can't actually know for sure the things you are claiming without inside information.

It doesn't matter if Hundley is "ready" for a no huddle/up tempo offense

He is a professional NFL quarterback who played THREE SEASONS for UCLA before he was even drafted.
I'm going to go on a limb out here and assume he could probably handle 10-15 scripted plays to keep the Vikings defense off guard...

I mean... I don't believe that that's rocket science.

I also have to believe that there's at least 5 to 10 PLAYS, not just plays within formations, but PLAYS that Hundley would be comfortable with running over and over again

I believe Holmgren did something similar in Brett Favre's earlier seasons when he wasn't getting the entire playbook which was fine as you just go with what you know and what works

Also, missing 3 ol man... And a new qb, how confident would you be in doing up tempo? One of 5hose lineman was new with in 2 weeks? Cane from practice squad of the cards

These guys are getting PAID to play right?

It's not like these guys have never played preseason downs or IN COLLEGE...

I'm pretty sure like 100% (besides Matt Cassell) of NFL players have played in college, so they could probably have at least the intellect and mental capability to handle a few plays(5-10) run over and over

let's just have fun with the season until ARODG comes back. Let Hundley learn the system. Put games in his hands. Let's just ride it out. If the season ends terribly, what else can ya do?

Maybe we can get a good draft pick in the first round FOR ONCE

But it would probably require the firing of ted thompson (a discussion for a different thread likely)

You could tell they were running some plays in the second half that Hundley wasn't comfortable with and/or they BARELY got in... as the play clock nearly hit 0 at least 2-3 times

If it was up to me.

I would go empty set and do short throws all day with Hundley and our WRs... and Kendricks/Montgomery
