I have made a list of 10 RBs that would be available to bring to GreenBay. None of these players would cost up picks and all but 1 are currently on teams practice squads.

1. Free Agent Roy Helu 5-11 215.
2.Bishop Sankey 5-10 209
3.Tyler Gaffney 6-0 220
4.Juwan Thompson 5-11 225
5.Andre Williams 5-11 220
6.Dujuan Harris 5-8 205
7.Zac Brooks 6-0 200
8.Aaron Green 5-11 201
9.Kelvin Taylor 5-10 207
10.Brandon Wilds 6-1 220 who reminds me an awful lot of James Starks.

Well did I miss any? What do you guys think?

None of those are "solutions" but I get what you're saying. I'd rather bring back Jhurrel Presley than sign one of these cats. Or just convert monty full time... It was the bears, but he didn't look half bad and can only get better with more experience

I wouldn't mind bringing DuJuan back. He's fast, has a little power, and has run well with us. Scraping the bottom of the barrel for options right now I'm sure we could do worse.

Not surprised about the RB scenario that played out last night. I expected Davis and Jackson to play minor roles. Thought Ripper would get a couple of more carries than he did but I wasn't expecting 60+ pass plays either. The extent of Jackson's injury will determine whether we bring in another RB to active roster. I do expect a RB addition to the practice squad in the next week.

I've always liked Helu. Don't know his status physically. Why wouldn't they have gotten him b4 trading with KC?

I like Don Jackson and I'm intrigued by his ability. On the plus side we do have an abundance of receivers two of which have experience carrying out of the backfield.

GB is done pursuing more running backs. Already traded for Nile Davis and Starks will miss at most 2 more games, most likely, and we also have Don Jackson. In the mean time we can get by with Montgomery/Cobb as we did last night.

TyMo is effective out of Backfield. But what if Jackson misses time with his injury. Then they have to bring in another RB till Starks is back like you said.

Joseph Randle has multiple felony charges pending and was too much of a distraction for even the Cowboys. If he plays for another team, it'll be a prison team.

Toby Gerhart is an interesting name. He had suffered an abdominal injury in preseason last year which developed into a sports hernia then he went to IR. He was not right physically, saw little action, then was cut.

If he's over the injury and has gotten in shape, he'd be worth taking a look at. Fresh legs in any event with what amounts to nearly a full year's layoff, and those legs don't have a lot of career mileage to start with. He's a between-the-tackles guy who can get a tough yard. I don't think I can say that about the other guys on the roster.

I like the knile davis trade a lot. Montgomery averaging 6 yds a carry against the bears. And despite the 2.4 ypc or whatever cobb has. I like his quickness and how he finishes his runs....
Starks will be back soon enough.

I think we are better than fine.

From my cursory look, I'd say he's a freakish physical specimen but not a very good football player. Maybe with the change of scene some kind of light will go on. But it's my firm belief RBs more than any other position are born, not made. Neither instincts, vision, quickness nor speed can be taught, and that's pretty much the whole enchilada. A little fine tuning into the scheme is about what you should expect, and that's chiefly in the blocking and route running departments.

Knile Davis hasn't shown much since entering the league in 2013. Hopefully he can play better for us. The RB position has totally backfired this season no question about it!

Saw him play a lot at Arkansas. Couldn't agree more. He's always had good straight line speed. Has always reminded me a little bit of Michael Bennett. I really worry about his ball security issues.

I would prefer the Packers to bring in a rookie running back that isn't already on the downside of his career. Unfortunately Pressley seems to be the only decent option available at the moment and the team obviously wasn't impressed with his potential.

If Knile can get going and add anything at all we should be pretty good with him + Ty. It's funny I bet anything if we had brought in Spiller and his first 2 games were exactly the same as Montgomerys last 2 most people would be pumped and not worried about "solutions" at RB.

I agree, while his attempts are historically low.. with GB he rushed for about 4.4 yds a carry and has an average of about 4 yards a carry since that. If we could use him 10-15 runs a game at 4+ yards a carry that would take a load off Montgomery and Cobb.
All we need is a stop gap for 4-6 weeks.
