I'm not even concerned about our RB group this year. I would actually say I'm more excited because I think we have some very good talent there, especially compared to what we worked with last year. I think between Ty and the 3 draft picks we will have our 2 solid producers rise to the occasion. Add to that the competition at WR taking Montgomery's spot and 2 more very capable TE's and we are looking strong on Offense. I'm merely guessing, but I think we have a shot of being top half of the league rushing this year (or better) which should take some much needed pressure off of Aaron

I agree with you that our RB situation should be better/deeper this year, but I don't see too big of a change in numbers from last year, when you have AR at QB. Last year the Packers were 29th in carries and 20th in total rushing yards. The key stat for the Packers was ave. yards per rush (4.5) which tied them for 7th in the league. As long as their running game can stick around that number, they should be fine. For comparison, Tom Brady and the Super Bowl Patriots finished with a 3.9 average (25th). Only 2 other playoff teams finished ahead of us, Dallas (3rd 4.8) and Atlanta (5th 4.6).

The aspect of the running game the Packers have to be careful with is fumbles. They only lost 3 last year, with 2 of those coming from AR and 1 from Ty. Some young guys could be getting some carries, gotta hang on to that ball!

There's a lot of uncertainty about the Packers' running back group though as the unit is extremely inexperienced. It might work out perfectly but in my opinion there's reason for concern.

If we carry two rookie running backs on the roster we'll probably see more fumbles and missed blocking assignments than we are used to. We'll have to overcome that as well as Evans jelling with his new OL mates. It's likely to be a work in progress.

I'm fine with the running backs being a work in progress early in the regular season but hopefully that doesn't linger into the postseason.

I think one of the big factors of the Packers turnaround last season was something that kind of went unnoticed, their turnover ratio got a lot better at the halfway mark. The defense started creating more than the offense committed. The Packers finished the season at a +8, which was 6th best in the League. That being said, our offense should be running on all cylinders in 2017, but we have seen it take some time to gel and fumbles by rookie running backs, while might be expected, could be costly. I hope Ball security is being stressed on offense and something I really think the defense needs to be better at......ripping that ball out. Julius Peppers was a master at going after that ball, he is no longer in Green Bay.

Being on the plus side of turnovers is one stat that involves some luck but also some skills. When you look at how teams fared last year, you can definitely see a pattern and just how important they can be, the teams at the top of the chart, were also many of the teams that made the playoffs.

It's possible that the pass pro actually improves. Not to say it's bound to be amazing, but last year they had nothing in that area. Now Ty has had some time at the position, and Jamaal Williams was arguably the best pass pro back in this draft.

We have a nice mixture of different skills at RB. TyMo is our swiss army knife running and catching he is that new breed of RB. J.Williams is more of the old school prototype RB. Jones is our scat back and Mays is our pure power back. Hopefully they all do their job and create a deadly backfield. It all starts with TyMo who I have running for 500 and another 500 receiving and 9 total TDs!

I very much doubt all four make the 53 and if they do, I'd be very surprised if all four were game day actives.

For comparison, Tom Brady and the Super Bowl Patriots finished with a 3.9 average (25th).

And yet Bucky Brooks has the Patriots running backs ranked as the 10th most feared position group in the NFL. Granted he has the new acquisitions of Burkhead and Gillslee in there but they lost what's his name.

We are a pass first team and as much as I am a fan of the running game I don't really care if we don't become a top half rushing team from a carries or yards standpoint. If we do that would probably mean we are taking the ball out of ARs hands too often. The key to me, as you pointed out Poker, is the average. As long as the rushes we do have are productive (fewer 3rd and short stuffs and the like) we will have and effective rushing game to compliment Rodgers and the passing game and as much as I would like to see it that may be more important than having that 1300 yard rusher.

I'm hoping for more than that out of Montgomery unless someone else beats him out as the feature back. The 500 yards receiving are fine but if he is our #1 back he needs more than 500 yards rushing.

I predict TyMo getting bulk of the carries for the 1st 4-5 games. Until J.Williams eventually takes over as our primary runner!
