Of the 12 players you presented, which is one of three draft picks to start with, 1 was a kicker, 1 was flat out cut by 2 teams, and 4 more went to the practice squad. I did not go looking for the first season results of the other 24. So I re-iterate that calling a 6/7 round pick a MAJOR REACH is unwarranted. Actually this shows the practice squad does what it was designed to do, give marginal players extra structured time to develop.
