Another more likely scenario I think could be moving back in RD2 like we did in 2023. We went from 45 to 47 and 47 to 50 and still selected Jayden Reed.

In 2025. GB double moves back from 2.53 to 2.56. Then 2.56 to 2.59. Gets
Carolina’s 4.144. + Baltimore’s 6.183.

#23
#59
#87
#124, #144
#159
#183, #198
#237, #250

Until they're not. Seriously I understand that. So how about, the farther you trade back the more guys you have to have in mind.
And the more positions of need you probably have to have on your board. 2 possible WRs, 1 or 2 possible CBs, 3 possible ED... you slide back 5 or 6 spots, you know you're going to get somebody you really want.

Although I have to say, my gut feeling is we're not going WR until Day 2. Green Bay has looked at and met more WRs than any other position group, and if they were planning on taking one in the 1st, I don't think they'd have wasted so much time on the Day 2 and even Day 3 players. I think they'd have a pretty short list of guys who project in the 20s. I think they're hoping to find a diamond in the rough that they can get on Day 2, and use #23 for some other need.

In 2018 the key moves were we started at 14 overall bounced around and landed at 18 overall. So the main part was our
14,79
Flipped to
18,144 and a future 2019-#22 overall.

* In 2023 Gutey used 45 overall and leveraged a pair of important moves.
45 moving back twice turned into
50 Jayden Reed
159 Dontayvion Wicks
179 Karl Brooks

* I like the latter move more in our current 2025 situation IF an opportunity presents itself.

Both the Bills and Ravens have compensatory selections in areas where we’d be trading. Meaning they BOTH select multiple times in
RD4 (Ravens 129,136)
RD5 (Bills 169,170,173)

GB is at 53
Buffalo is at 55
Ravens are at 59

Those are the 2 logical teams to offer a trade.

GB trades 53,237
Ravens trade 59,129,183

GB trades 53,
Buffalo trades 55,170

If one of the top WRs drops to #23, I think Gluten will move on that. The chances of that happening are low. He may take a WR, but wait for days 2 or 3.

I've heard Higgins mentioned, I think by Ty, as a good pick on day 2.

Do you really think they'll spend another round 1 pick on an OT? Even with the Banks addition, they do have 3 guys on the last year of their contract (I think it's Tom, Walker and maybe Rhyan) so they need to take at least one OL in the draft. I just don't see it happening at #23.

I have Higgins at #22 on my top 100 :) So yeah I'm a big advocate for him and personally I think that is too late to nab him.

Those would be great deals. The Packers only drop back two spots and stay in the same round. It does mean that Buffalo or Baltimore have someone they value so highly they won't wait two picks. I don't know that they would, or wouldn't, do that. It would be a helluva good trade for GB.

Thanks I did recall you posting about Higgins.

I don't recall seeing him go in round 1 in the many mocks I've seen. When the Bucks pick in round 2 he may be gone. If they like the guy enough, this could warrant a trade back by Gluten into early round 2 plus another pick. (I feel certain he'll trade back out of round 1 to get another pick. Could be a WR or Edge guy, or both. Impressive depth this year at Edge and DL.)
