DMVP. Z' Smith. I think he will lead pack in sacks and become our emotional leader. 17 sacks.

OMVP (other than AR) Adams. Not as easy as it seems. With DB focus i believe other WRs will get more targets. But Jones if he stays healthy will be here. A shift to more focus on running will increase his importance. He just seems fragile so im going with Adams.

OROY, Jenkins. I think he starts early and make things happen in this new offense. Sternberger will do okay, but Tonyan seems poised to take a lot of the snaps.

DROY Savage. It will take him a little time due to missed t I'll me in practice, but he should adjust quickly. All reports are he is very smart and adapts quickly.

Gary: 3 sacks.

Leaders
Williams 950 yds. 8 TDs. Plays more games than Jones

Adams 85 rec 1050yds 8 tds increased competition for targets lowers numbers

Sacks ZSmith 17!

Tackles: Martinez with Summers chasing him all year and getting real close. We could possibly have 2 inside linebackers with over 150 tackles this season.

High expectations for a raw rookie ILB! If Burks comes back and Summers is on track for numbers you are predicting, he would keep starting.

He's been above average in coverage. He's getting to the ball, his technique will continue to improve as will his coverage. Unless Burks is back by week 2 it could be Summers' job to lose.

*sigh* burks. he does nothing for me. he's nothing but a body out there imo lol.
Sometimes what looks like a vacuum hole that’s left when a player is injured becomes an opportunity for another athlete to come in and shine.

It sort of forces the issue at implementing another Strategy. That, in turn, gives another player valuable experience and occasionally they even beat the presumed starter out of a job. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, when the injured player heals up you got 2 viable alternatives or at the very least know you suck and then that forces a FA pickup or a trade deal. It’s can actually be a silver lining in the long term.

That said, we never want players getting injured, but good teams can go out and continue to win ball games with a slight deficiency, while having a better evaluation of their bench. That way you don’t have a backup player getting his first career start in a high caliber playoff game after the starter is injured late in a given season.

Some good ones in here. I believe Za’Darius will be a wrecking crew, along with a host of others. Kenny Clark is coming into his own. Montravius sounds & looks much improved. Preston will get his, and he’s a great run defender. Martinez is sure. Our secondary will have a field day.

Savage 7 INTs. 3 TDs. DROY

Summers 10 sacks 4 INTs

Martinez benefits as well from improved play up front and breaks NFL’s all-time tackles record.

Clark sets his career sack record.

King plays entire season. 2 defensive scores.

Packers have two RBs over 1000 yds. Jones & Dexter.

Danny Vitale 700 yds receiving.

Kumerow 5 100 yd games receiving

Aaron Rodgers Super Bowl MVP, NFL MVP

Don't really like what I see of Summers. Just watched the last preseason game and he missed a lot of tackles again. And often, when he does tackle, he does not push the ball carrier back. Instead, the ball carrier pushes him forward. He really needs to work on his technique and angle taking if he wants to make it. imho I doubt he'll get a lot of time against Chicago.

This is... something. Really something.

Summers is the DMVP of the league with stats like that, lol.

In regards to Summers, I think he's fine on ST's, but please realize he plays the same position as Blake Martinez.

Oren Burks, and Curtis Bolton, were both ahead of him when healthy at the other LB spot. Raven Greene will play more at LB than Summers. He's just not going to play that much outside of obvious run downs.

Yeah, it pretty funny...
Hey, you stuck your neck out with 10 sacks and 4 ints for Summers. I admire your optimism as well as going against the grain. If someone predicted 10 sacks for Frackrell last season they would have laughed as well. I have ZSmith down for 17 sacks, which is very unlikely, but this is meant for fun.

Ami, Hell yeah. Pure fun, but, I honestly do not see your 17.5 as being unrealistic.

How many times in TC did he beat the best LT in the NFL?

I’m considering the raw number of talented players on that front 7- all of whom are ASCENDING in their production.

My 10 sacks for Summers is my best guess, knowing his ability to break through to get the QB, and the problems every offense will face against Clark, Adams, The Smith Bros., Gary, Keke, Lancaster, Lowry, et al, plus other blitzers. Summers is adept at this.

Opposing Os will be S-ing themselves.

Who will they double?

1400 yards from scrimmage for Aaron Jones.

Valdes-Scantling averages 18+ yards per reception.

Allison is second on the team in targets to Adams.

Tonyan leads tight ends in receiving categories.

Elgton Jenkins starts 14 games.

Preston and Za'Darius Smith combine for 16-19 sacks, but neither reaches double digits.

Jaire Alexander gets an All-Pro nod.

Raven Greene plays 60+% of the snaps on defense.

One linebacker last season topped 150 tackles (Darius Leonard) and he also led the league in sacks for an off-ball player (7). So it's pretty funny to see predictions that Summers will be one of TWO linebackers on the same team chasing 150 tackles, and that he will hit double digits in sacks.

Totally their prerogative to predict. And mine to chuckle. That way, we all have some fun.

Got to Dantes... got to...

Personally, I see the roster so stacked, it is difficult to pick some players as so many could be that guy at his position who blows up the numbers. Davante sure, he will have a great year, but look at how many behind him could go off the charts. Same on D.

Projecting is just an exercise in throwing all the balls up in the air... pure fun.

I'm kind of chuckling over some peoples excitement over Summers, Bolton and even Burks, so I am going to put Goodson as my "surprise standout player" on defense. I think this guy just might have brought the group from the worst in the league to middle of the road.

Prior to Goodson, I viewed the ILB position as our weakest link on both sides of the ball. The Packer defense has continually had problems with short underneath routes by RB's, TE's and WR's. Unfortunately, I see that problem most likely continuing to some extent, even with the addition of Goodson.

Burks wasn't even that good at ILB when healthy last year, yet tabbed the starter this year, until his injury. Then Bolton, an UDFA Rookie appeared to be the starter, he goes down, doesn't even make the final 53 and Summers is anointed the new starter.

I hope Goodson can get ready fast and stays healthy, because I think he will be the starter next to Martinez pretty quickly, potentially even at some point on Thursday night.

Now I recognize that all 3 players.....Summers, Burks and Bolton could potentially step up and be great/good, but so far we have nothing to go off from the 2 rookies when it comes to real games and Burks...meh. I also recognize that Pettine can use Raven Greene or OLB's inside, an option he tried last year.
