I don’t know if any routes off play action that are going down field where a receiver just shuts down a route other than a back shoulder when a defender has up field position.

This was not that.

A crosser where you sit in a zone? Sure.

Running hard downfield? No, you have to know, once you clears this linebackers, the ball is in the air already

Why not? Lazard should have been right there too, but he shut it down. QBs and WRs do that every week

If Lazard was so sure of the play and he was supposed to shut it down, then as soon as the ball sailed over his head he would have known a safety was waiting right there to get the int instead of acting like he did with such nonchalance
