Alexander- tackling was atrocious
Gary- He's disappeared since the Detroit game. Just pathetic
Wyatt- let's face it, he's another in a long list of Gute's high draft pick busts.
Walker- same as Wyatt. Looks like a bust.
Studs
Kraft-Looks like he can catch the ball in traffic.
Love- while his stats were mundane, I think he made some extraordinary plays.
Jones- He finally looked healthy and was

Gary did miss outside contain on the Quay Walker blitz between the RT/RG. Quay had already drawn both OL into double blocking on him to pickup the blitz. Gary got caught napping and let the QB run around clear around the Edge and score a TD.
When Quay comes in on a Blitz Gary has to protect the Sideline. If he gets contain Young has to cut inside and #34 was coming into the seam full tilt. Best case it’s a 5 yard pickup and Bryce gets blasted. Wurst case he slides for +2 or throws away the ball incomplete.

Rashan is hardly a dud, but this wasn’t his best game. The LB communication could be better.

I find it concerning (and another reason to ditch Barry) that we are still having communication issues 16 weeks into this season.

Gary is getting paid to be elite. He needs to remember that elite players don't take games off 3 games in a row. He's disappeared. Not good. I've mentioned on other posts that with Joe Barry as DC, it hard to know if any individual performance is the fault of the player or the DC.However, I don't think it's wise to compare Reggie White and Rashon Gary. One is in the top ten 10 players in NFL history and the other is a second tier pass rusher getting paid to be first tier.1996 was Reggie's second worst season of his career and he still managed to force 3 fumbles and an interception along with 8.5 sacks.

That same year reggie had 8.5 he had 39 combo and 30 solo tackles

Gary has 9 sacks, 39 combo and 21 solo. With 2 to go.

And the comparison can be made to show even the best ever had slow seasons. Or slow stretches.

Here's what I found MLF saying about the defense:

31:28 [Reporter]: fourth quarter you know you guys your defense looked okay for a lot of the game then the fourth quarter they need two scores to tie and they get them do you come out of this can you come out of this feeling any better about that side of the ball than you did last week?

31:40 [MLF]: oh certainly I mean that was definitely frustrating um you know I think but it wasn't just it wasn't just on the defense I mean offensively you got to give them a a breather especially if we're bleeding a little bit defensively we got to find a way to you know put together a scoring drive we got to find a way to get some first downs to allow those guys to recover recoup.
The defense needs a breather?????..
..So what are you saying MLF. that putting up 30 pts in a game is not enough to win with the D we have.

Dud: Jaire Alexander crashing the crew of selected captains, showing zero respect for coaches and teammates. Then, taking over call of the coin flip without knowing the rules, even as a veteran. (Small credit to MLF for briefing the officials prior to the flip on telling them he wanted to defer.)

Stud: The Packer offense led by Jordan Love for generating the points and productivity needed to win the game.

Other items of interest:
Carrington Valentine did not play or played VERY little (behind Jaire).
JB defensive schemes were 2/3 man, 1/3 zone whereas he normally calls 2/3 zone, 1/3 man.
New staff person on Packer sideline wearing bright yellow hoodie holding up signs for defense. (The one sign had "11" on it.)

Coaches always designate players from the area captains when they "play for the home folks." The coaches actually dissed him by not naming him a captain for the game. Players knew he was going out.

I don't know if "always" is accurate. Given Jaire's behavior of late, it wouldn't surprise me if he was intentionally "dissed" by the coaches. Beyond that, taking it on yourself to call the coin flip without knowing how to make the call almost cost the team a possession.

I long for the couple of seasons I didn't hear Ja's name on TV because opposing WRs couldn't catch a cold on him.

Took just enough time off the clock to prevent a last second tying FG at the end of that half!
If Carlson would stop missing those PATs the last few seconds of the game wouldn't have mattered.

Studs: Love, Wicks, Jones, Doubs, Kraft.

Duds: Joe Barry, Carlson
The extra point snap was really high. It looked like it bothered Carlson and he had to slow down a microsecond. He probably should make those anyway. Maybe they should practice bad snaps.

Another poster mentioned there was a high snap on the XP. Or, as the coaches now say "there was a problem with the operation." A few years ago, when the XP was 17 yards away, it wasn't a problem. From 35 yards, it makes a difference.

A fair point but every guy has to kick XPs from the same dist. It just frustrates me that Carlson is ranked 36th, basically last of all NFL kickers on XPs.
Not very important this year so hopefully he improves. Can't be a playoff team contender when a lost point here or there can mean the difference between winning or losing.

A +1 will have to do until I get access to "Like." I don't know where the long snapper rates, but as a "battery" this group can do better on XPs. It's fixable, I'm sure.
