Love had to earn his starting role though, plus all the other youngsters. The first half of last season was a learning experience.
Just that we lost 5 early close games to teams that were less than we were. This season the elite 3 best us up.

Well, if there's a bright side, at least we play a third place schedule next year. I won't feel comfortable until we're back to dominating the division though. Hopefully that's sooner rather than later.

Probably the same thing all those 3rd place teams fans are thinking. ;)

The 3 teams that the Packers play due to their 3rd place finish are: Broncos, Cardinals and Panthers. All 3 teams are on the rise.

I never put a lot of weight into schedules looking easy or hard, especially this early. The timing of injuries and when the Packers meet said opponents seem to play a bigger role in outcomes. This past season, the Packers got "lucky" in at least 3 games that come to mind; Rams, Texans and 49'ers. If memory serves me correct, all 3 teams were missing important starters when the Packers played them. Even the 2 wins against the Seahawks and Saints were aided by both teams playing without their starting QB for either the entire game or part of it.

Stay healthy and play teams when they aren't, was a formula the Packers seemed to thrive on in 2024, until it all unraveled and went to the opposite extreme against the Eagles.

Next year's schedule is brutal.

The officiating has been really bad. It cost Houston the game. Those two phantom personal fouls.
I agree. Yet, I am confused, because you said this in another post:

You make some good points but I don't know about having the booth start calling penalties.

The only way to "correct" missed calls or even "bad" calls, is with replay and assistance from the booth. Let's face it, refs on the field can be well versed in all the rules, but whether its the speed of the game, a bad viewing angle or just plain human error, there are ways to correct the "wrongs" in Football.

It would get things right but are they going to call every single foul? Who will choose which penalties to call? Are they going to start calling pass interference and non-catchables? I just think that would start to make things too perfect. But I like the idea of being able to overturn blatantly bad and game changing calls.

Think of it this way and what it is currently called, "Replay assist". This is just having another ref. involved and one that has "perfect vision", ie replay and lots of angles and eyes to get calls right.

I was actually impressed all season on how quickly replay assist jumped in and corrected calls. There wasn't the complete stoppage of play that many feared, for the most part it was seamless and was basically like another official running in and saying "I had a better view of it and you got it wrong."

You use the word "perfect" as if it was a bad thing. My feeling is that if the rules of football were followed/enforced correctly, that eliminates the human error of rule enforcement. Which isn't making the game "perfect", its making it "fair" to both teams.
