I agree with you on those holes. I would put the Packer needs in this order: CB, DL, WR, OL, EDGE.

I will say that before Sunday, our starting OL had a pretty solid season. However, as you point out, the depth wasn't there. It does sound like Myers escaped having avoided a significant ligament or bone injury. Will the Packers resign him? Not sure, but if they can get him on a $5M/season or less, I would. I think the OL need is one that you can address mid to late round and/or free agency.

I see the Packers using their first few picks in the draft on defense again. Hopefully, there will be a solid CB or DL player at #23 or #24.

Gute needs to be on the lookout for upgrading all those positions in Free Agency and I expect him to.

Well guys, a winning season in the W/L column but a very disapointing season in my book. When this year began I was hoping to see a few changes from last year.
Get rid of A Carlson and get a more reliable PK. They did that about halfway thru the season.
Move on from the J Barry Def and bring in something new and fresh. They did that too.
Based on those two changes alone GB should have gone further than last year. But we didnt!! The packers were missing something this year that held them back.
They have plenty of talent and ending the year with a top 5 Defense the only place I can look is at the top.
Do we have a HC who knows how to lead a team to elite status. Knows how to motivate the players, How to pull all the pieces together into a well defined unit, how to instill an atmospere of discipline and confidence.
Players can have a lot of talent but if they are not playing with confidence then they play stiff and 2nd guess. When they are playing with confidence they play free and unencumbered. Do we have a leader who can provide those intangibles.

I ask these questions because what I saw this year was a team that didn't live up to its potential... so I guess its fitting that our season ended where it began.... vs philly,

I agree with so much of what you say. For me, LaFleur can do it. He just needs a few difference making players at a few key positions. O line, Pass rusher, and Corner. I guess maybe a go to receiver also. They have to pick better in the 1st round. He also has to take a hard look at his coaches and scouts. Special teams? I agree he has to get a handle on mental errors of the players. Some different type of coaches should be able to handle that. That said, I like your post.

Greg Olson absolutely NAILED my thoughts on the difference between a HC that is also the play caller and a HC that doesn't call plays. It starts up around the 1:58 mark. I hope someone sends this to Matt and Gute. Olson hammers my point home around the 2:20 mark.

Today's game is about what I expected. It got out of hand due to injuries. The Eagles were a better team going in, and losing 3 important cogs in the offense destroyed the team's ability to move the ball effectively. Kraft & Jacobs played well. Jury is out on Love. I just don't see that "star power" some people believe is there. Maybe next year. I see an average QB at best. A QB who has problems making his reads, and misses seeing way too many receivers who are open.

The defense played very well. Nixon had control of that kickoff while lying on his back. The video from the sky cam proved it. Apparently, the officials don't use that camera. If they did, they blew it. When the Eagles scored that early TD it took the wind out of the Packers on both sides of the ball.

The Packers should be a better team next year. That's what matters.

We observed our team but looking at the Eagles here is what I saw:
They knew Hurts was coming back after missing several games. They also deciphered the season opener with these teams. They knew both teams are better than they were in WK 1. Their game plan was to run the football and pass conservatively. If you recall in WK 1 Hurts threw 2 picks that proved costly, one to McKinney and one to Jaire. That was the one way we might beat them. They knew if they could get us out of our run game enough they would force Love to win the game. It paid off.
Had the Packer offense been able to produce points it would have caused the Eagles to take more aggressive shots down the field thus giving our secondary a chance to make plays. The Eagles were in no way going to let Hurts throw 43 passes like Sam Darnold to win the game.
