Get those 2 things done and we have enough to sign Jarvis Landry and a decent D-lineman. :coffee:

Few aged veteran UFAs I think are worth knocking tires on might be:

Gerald McCoy - wanted to continue his career with the Raiders last year but injury and then the PED suspension hit. What is he? Who knows...but he isn't going to be expensive, and can he give you 20% of snaps...50% - the guy has rarely missed games in his career and has never played less than 60% of his teams snaps since he became a starter...nearly doing 70% in 2020. LV gave him a $1.25M deal in 2021...he would be a vet minimum signing if he came.

Sheldon Richardson - Getting to the McCoy stage of his career (which has been solid) he took a $3.6M one year deal with the Vikings last year...played 57% of the snaps and put up 39 tackles, 2.5 sacks, a FF and started 7 games. He appears to have for sure a depth level of gas in the tank, and in GB he has a legit chance to get a ring...

Steve McLendon - Has been a depth/role type guy most of his entire career...after chasing rings in TB, does he want to come to GB for the same? Can he increase his use just slightly at least after playing only 22.4% of TB's snaps in 2021...TB signed him to a second one year deal in 2021 for just $1.2M - Lowest level guy of three mentioned so far as to ceiling.

Corey Peters - He is intriguing, and man I loved him when he was younger. Playing the last 6 years in Arizona - does he want to change scenery or retire? After two years of being a role player and no longer a starter, what is there? Signed for roughly $1.2M last season to stay with Cardinals...wouldn't cost a lot and could be depth.

Johnathan Hankins - His back injury history worries me, but coming off a $3M+ one year deal and being one of the younger guys on this list could have the most in the tank if you will. Have to pass medicals for sure, but again it is a low cost to a guy you hope can do similar to his 2021 season and provide 40%+ of snaps.

Jarran Reed - This should be the most productive guy on this list IMO - signed for $5M one year deal last year and played on 60%+ of the snaps putting up 43 tackles, 2.5 sacks (7 in 2020) and 2 FF. He is a guy to circle and if he gets past the first wave of FA signings could be that "steal" type guy.

What happen to being

One day after reports came out that Aaron Rodgers was looking to get a new contract worth around $50 million, he reportedly has disputed those claims and called them 'categorically false'.

3 years for 150 = 50 mill a year???

Reports were it was a 4 year deal for 200.

Even if Rodgers plays out his contract in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and retires.....76M will hit our cap in 2025. 76M.....I suspect that relatively speaking with cap increases would be like having to take a $45M-$55M hit this year. Insane.

I do not give a s*** what Rodgers meant with his categorically false statement. I'm excited that AR will be playing for the Packers likely through the end of his career.

Agree, I've said all along I LOVE having him as my QB, but I am so over him and his antics as a person in the limelight.

At this point I don't care if he tweets the Earth is flat and we never landed on the moon. I'm tuning that BS out. I just want him to focus on being the best QB in the NFL and win another Lombardi Trophy for us.

You have to do this because he behaves at times like a giant ********* LOL

I think all of us are with you on hopefully winning a SB.

It's the same as immunized versus vaccinated. Rodgers likes to play his word games. It's dumb.

I bet that he's a big fan of Wordle

Here's a sad reality of Rodgers...outside of a QB and him on Green Bay's roster, there isn't a soul in the entire organization that could continue to trigger such drama, avoid the actual truth as much as him and still be granted graces.

Honestly, it illustrates just how FREAKING GOOD HE IS. Not a soul has more pure QB skills than he has IMO....and that makes one put up with a ton of ****.

Actually I bet he hates it, there is only one "correct" word where he'd want to have some possibly correct in his mind outs for the proper answer...

I would like to see the transcripts where he said what. I have a feeling people are playing with words as much as he is.

"Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the
@packers
next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I “signed”. I’m very excited to be back "

There are 2 things there, #1, he did not sign a contract and it was not for the terms they were reporting either.

I think people are looking for a reason to be mad again. Why?

Pat McAfee was contacted directly by Rodgers to inform people the reported $50M/year deal rumored was utterly false. It was stressed multiple times and directly from Rodgers. Pat has Aaron's trust because he doesn't inflate or deflate ANYTHING Rodgers gives him ever.

I think people are just being careful on what Rodgers says and its true meaning. Many Packer fans are also not happy with what they perceive as a guy that has probably made close to a billion dollars as a Packer and he has waivered on wanting to be a part of the organization.

So I guess you can call it "being mad at him", but I would blend in a bit of distrust with what he says as well.

So the real deal is "a total of $150.6 million in compensation over the next three years"

Last week it was reported "$50 million per year".

I guess Rodgers said the report was "inaccurate" because it's not $50 million per year. It's actually $50.2 million per year.
