Winfree is on the Practice Squad & was called up a few times but then placed back onto PS so he's "safe". Taylor is on the active roster & #7 WR so more than likely would get the ax. After waivers can be signed to anyone's PS, but he may prefer to come back/stay with GB due to the favorable opportunity for a roster spot next year.
Right, but in order to make room for Taylor on the PS, they might possibly decide to cut Winfree. If they do sign OBJ, unless he bombs or there are injuries, I don't think we will see much more of Amari this season, but that might not be a bad thing.

I’d expect Chris Blair cut from PS before a Winfree cut

Good way and easier way to look at it, thanks. I never claimed to be a cap guru, but it didn't seem correct that if the Packers have to write a check to a player (to vested or non-vested) that amount goes against the cap.

Given your information, Malick and Winfree have to be keeping a close eye on this.
Yes. But they hardly play anyway. OJB would be sitting on the bench waiting for one of the other 5 to get hurt. And then there is next year. You can pay Malik and Winfree. OJB expects a bundle wherever he goes.

If they sign OBJ, it isn't to sit on the bench. Maybe for the first few weeks while he learns the playbook and practices with the offense. He would be the 2nd most talented WR on the roster, he wouldn't be sitting on the bench by his 3rd game.

He'd be the 2nd best WR on the team why would he sit on the bench. In 3 WR sets you have Adams and OBJ on the outsides and Cobb in the slot.

The Pats have enough money to go over what the Browns owe him. I would just be a little surprised that he would pass on the chance to catch passes from #12 and a shot at a SB. He wouldn't have that in New England. BB seems to get a lot of the castoffs.

They don't have significantly more space than what the Packers do though. Question is, how much more than the minimum would the Packers be willing to go, and how much does Odell value who's throwing him the ball?

If he wants to be the clear cut #1, New England would be his place. But if he wants a chance to contribute to a winning (perhaps Super Bowl winning) team, he should come to Green Bay and cash in next year with a team long term.

IF we sign OBJ, he is healthy and he sits on the bench for weeks (let’s say first three or four here) after I will literally never post on this forum again out respect for how I absolutely believe that thinking what you posted might be one of the worst takes I’ve read.

I give ya this it takes balls to lay down takes like that.

It really comes down to who wants to pay over what the Browns owe him, which is $4.25 M. If he gets less from the Packers or Pats or whoever, he still only makes $4.25M.

So the Packers sales pitch is "We will pay you minimum, you still make your $4.25M, but the Browns pick up the majority of the tab. If we need to further improve the team, you have left us funds to do that. You get to come to a 7-2 team, in need of a #2 WR and a FHOF QB will be throwing to you. What time should we pick you up?"

Exactly.

The Packers don't even entertain this idea if he were going to be riding the pine. OBJ immediately becomes at worst the 2nd most talented receiver on the team and is absolutely going to be playing big snaps opposite of Davante.

The Packers are obviously not trying super hard to sign Odell, I would imagine because next year's cap is an absolute nightmare and he wants a multiyear deal as well as evidence showing that Gute isn't super high on emphasizing WR in team building (which works with Rodgers at QB but I'm a little concerned at who Love is going to have to throw the ball to).

I don't think Odell is what he once was in NY (one of the best WRs in the league) but he's still a very good receiver. He would be the second best receiver in Green Bay by miles but he's not worth the team potentially being forced to part ways with Amos (or a similar player) next year or prevent the team from franchise tagging Adams if they go that route.

If he is looking for a multi year deal, the Packers aren't the place to look. I doubt that he didn't know that, before reportedly declaring that they were one of his desired teams. Also, if I was his agent, I would be saying "Look, if you are looking for a long term deal, do you really want me to try and negotiate one based on your numbers this year and last year, because its not going to be that great of a deal. My advice, go to the team that can help in making you look like you still are a really good player, get the new you on tape and lets work it in the off season for a great 4-5 year contract."

the packs have adams to contend with so they will not put effort and money for a guy who causes too many issues in the locker room.

So who do you take out? Cobb? Lazard? Adams? MVS? EQ? Where are they going to play ? ST gunners?
It isn't like they won't play. There will just be another player with skills and we will have to see how he does. But yes, EQ. And always the possibility of injuries.

Would definitely be quite the duo Adams/OBJ. Staying healthy and humble will be issue for OBJ
How about learning the playbook, the lingo and listening to Rodgers and the coaches?

Perhaps they think it's all he is worth???
That was a click grabber is all. Either I am really missing something or some of these "reporters" are just idiots. If nobody is offering anymore than Cleveland owes him ($4.5 M) than really nobody is making a "better offer" if its just for the rest of this season. He is guaranteed the $4.5 M due to being a vested veteran. Just comes down to who he chooses to share the bill with Cleveland. If he's smart, take the vet min from your new team and leave them more money to potentially improve the team even more.

I think he'd get more targets than that lol. I can see him hauling *** crossfield, being open and Rodgers leading him. Don't care much about the one handed catches. But if he can catch the ball... btw only two targets/catches but MVS is looking like he has learned to use his hands.
Where have you been since last Thanksgiving? He hasn't dropped a pass in 11 months.

Odell isn't going to accept a multi year deal for such little money. He's out to prove himself for the rest of this season to cash in next offseason.
if you're right and OB 1 is not looking for a multi deal then packs have enough cap to sign him then tell his **** to hit the road next year. I wouldn't mind that.
