NFL 2024 Weekly Predictions Contest: Week 1

Hello everyone! We are now on the cusp of the start of the 2024 NFL season, and (of course) that means we will have 272 game scores to pick over the next 18 weeks. Test your skills, and see if you can be the best picker in the Packer Forum.

ALL are welcome to play along!!

Guess the score of each team of each game...
Each game you pick the correct winner of: 5 points
If you pick correctly on at least half the games scheduled for the week earns a 20 points bonus
If you pick correctly on at least 75% of the games earns a 40 point bonus (plus the previous 20 points).
If you get all but one of the games correct nets 100 bonus points (plus the 20 & 40 from above)
Guess right on all the games and enjoy a free 150 points (plus the previous 20, 40 & 100)
And ..... If you guess the correct winner and score of any game: 125 bonus points tacked on for each correct game.
If you've got incredibly mad skills and happen to guess every correct score of every game: you get a mega jackpot of 5000 points.

Last year I missed as many in week 1 as I got right. I made the mistake of following the money on them, and it was a win-win situation for the house when it came to the gamblers. This year, I looked at the match ups, and thought about who I thought should win the games based on the information to date, and chose that team. Then it came to the scores. I said that I wasn't going to do that across the board score bit again this year, but as I looked at the entire schedule for this week, I had no idea where to go with the numbers so figured.... okay! One more time, then scrap that method.

By the way. Thanks for taking this chore on again this year. It's greatly appreciated.

I got hot early and late last season. I hate to see a game go down to the wire and lose by a toe. OT would have been exciting. Maybe home field did it. Back in the 2011 opener the Saints were like a yard or so from the goal line and Clay Matthews made the game ending stop to seal the victory 42-34 I believe.

What was your Ravens-Chiefs prediction in hindsight?

If I’m honest I’d have picked the Ravens 31 to 28.
I thought Derrick Henry would be a lot more effective than he was, but what really killed Baltimore were the illegal formation penalties that broke Lamar’s rhythm and timing.

That’s why I’m very happy. The Bears starters played almost 2 full games in the preseason so hopefully they’ll have issues like that already ironed out.

Penalties like that would literally keep me up at night going” you stupid ***** effing ****** pieces of shiite!!!!!!!
