Not sure what that has to do with my answer to Weeds.

I'm just pointing out that the two "models" of team building are being pit against each other in both of these games-- established, expensive veteran vs youngster on a rookie deal and so far both games could have gone or could go either way. I wasn't trying to correct anything you said.

I'm rooting for New England. I'm pro NFL teams that run the football.

I guess we should be happy because we gain a draft pick spot for our Saints pick.
Also we should be happy because our new coach is from McVay's coaching tree.

I wonder if that was Brees' last shot for a Super Bowl? I didn't really care who won this game, but in a way I'm glad because Colin Cowherd is always talking up Brees and putting down Rodgers (just because Brees was winning this year and Rodgers wasn't). He has Brees on his "8 greatest QBs" list while no Packers are on there.

In other words Rodgers is his 9th best QB and in order to not have to list him he cuts it off at 8.

That’s all cool, but weeds was making it out like the Rams have so much more money to spend than the rest of the teams, and that is simply not true.

Even GB in most seasons with AR would’ve beat the 2018 Patriots. Our 2014 team (which was decent but not great) would’ve beat both these AFC squads. That’s one of the worst Defenses I’ve seen play in front of a home crowd in a Champuinship level game.

It was kind of fun watching a team refuse to go away. I wonder if they do it one more time or if Brady era started and will end with Rams? Should be a good game, again

Patriots did it again, and it was supposed to be a down year for them.
I know records are made to be broken, I'm not sure if we'll ever see anybody match this.
Their longevity is ridiculous. I remember talking to a Patriots fan 10 years ago about how amazing it was that they were doing what they were doing, and they've just added to it since then. 10 years ago!

In other words Rodgers is his 9th best QB and in order to not have to list him he cuts it off at 8.
You're probably on to something, although I'm not sure he wouldn't rate Favre above Rodgers. Not sure he would, not sure he wouldn't. He might have cut it off at 8 so he wouldn't have to list Favre.

The worst part of all this would be listening to Skip Bayless crowing about the GOAT tomorrow.

Bill's probably paid off the refs to win the toss.

I've rarely felt a deep rooted haterd for another thing as much as the OT format. Like you can give toss and declare them the winner. No need to play at all. Whoever wins the toss wins the match at least 90% of the time. What a lame rule in a good sport.

Please ... other than Lombardi I doubt GB ever has had a coach better than Belichick ... This 2018 GB team would have been blown out by this Years Patriots team ... - Ppl always seem to underestimate Belichick and the Patriots ... 8 consecutive AFC C Games is not Luck, nor coincidence ... Those results speak for themselves ... Not to mention going to a 9th Super Bowl in 18 seasons ... with a very likely chance of a 6th ring ...

I’m still saying, play out the quarter Regardless of scoring, and if it is still tied at that point, start kicking FGs, starting from 20 yards, moving out 10 yards after each rounds that are still tied ... would make it interesting to see a 70 yard kick in a blizzard ! :D :roflmao:

I have to agree. I don't like it, but you can't argue with their record, no one is even close to them. Sorry, they've left the Packers in the dust. Their success in the cap era is unprecedented.

I can still hang my hat on Lombardi for winning five championships in a seven year span, over a nine year coaching career here. No one has equaled that.

In all honesty ... winning the Championship was Way more easy back then than now ... which I think your would agree with ;)

And for those of you who say Brady is a diva (like some of us say Rodgers is) - the two arent really comparable other than that they both play QB ... :p

Brady always has such good pass protection. That makes the QB, RB and receivers better than they really are. Not saying Brady isn't great, much as I dislike him, just saying we've got to get Rodgers and Co. a really solid OL.

That is only part of it ... Brady gets rid of the Football faster than Rodgers (wants to) and takes what the defenses gives up ... again unlike Rodgers, who prefers the long Plays ... Also Brady just goes on Regardless of who he has as receivers without “whining” and doesnt use a depleted WR corps as excuses ...

When you know your QB unloads the Ball faster, it also makes it somewhat easier to protect him ...

I won't agree with it. It may or may not be true, but there are a lot of factors at play. There were fewer teams then, but fewer opportunities. There are more layers of playoffs now, but easier to get in. If you built a strong team then, it could stay together for years. I can't say it was easy to win five championships in seven years, because no one else ever did it.

Generally speaking, I don't like to compare eras.

Of course a lot of that is that he gets rid of the ball so quickly.
