Please stop with the "Ted has built ths team into a perrenial playoff team" argument. Under him, the Packers don't sniff the playoffs more than once, maybe twice, without Rodgers. The team's record without him under center proves that. No team is better when they lose their starting quarterback, but I would expect this team to at least not suck without Rodgers.

Ah yes, the old standby argument where we somehow discredit TT for drafting the best quarterback in the league. A real classic!

While I'm confounded by this statement (because I'm 100% on board with getting a veteran in our backfield) I am also very pleased that TT has used FA twice already. This tells me the tide is changing. Let's give him some credit here these are exciting changes and this team will make these guys better IMO.
These are 2 former 2nd round picks who both have potential in this system.
Let's let TT finish what he's started before we criticize him he's not even done and we have no idea how difficult it is to retain players etc.. I have confidence he's putting together a Championship team.
This is the most out of the box thing I've seen since Guion and Peppers so enjoy it while it lasts. I'd be super impressed if he grabbed a LB or CB veteran and tho. This draft class is deep at Corner and I think we'll see TT active with D draft picks 1st/2nd day
Unfortunately the DB free agency class offers nothing of significance to improve the defense where it needs to be to win another Super Bowl. We will have to wait until the draft where the talent is much deeper and hope Teddy doesn't pull a ***** there. However, there are several nice pass rushers that are available and unless he addresses that need with a signing of one of them or through a trade, I will continue to neuter him on this board.

Who are these people? Chatroom posters? Certainly no NFL front office people, analysts, coaches or players were saying these things before this past September. Monty doesn't have the body to take the beating of a #1 running back. That's pretty obvious.

I agree that Monty isn't a 3 down running back, but it isn't because of his body. His body is almost prototype rb. I like him as a third down back, but then he can't pass pro or chip on blitzers. Maybe a full offseason with the rbs will help.

Yes, what a shrewd move that was to pick a franchise quarterback that fell into his lap at #24 to replace another whom was waffling on retirement for years and also had been a playoff liability for five years. My 9 year old niece could've made that pick.

Yeah it was such an obvious pick and clearly a slam dunk franchise QB, which is why he was there after 23 picks. Maybe you should try that argument with your niece. A 9 year old might buy it.

I agree that I disagree to "agree to disagree". Note that I gave you an "agree".
I saw that! Very fitting with the times. I like it! (Pun here) this is beginning to feel like a Laurel n Hardy routine. Nice to know I'm not the only Smart A?? Around here :D

Your not going to win this argument. He just said his 9 year old daughter is smarter then 23 other GMs.

You can't argue with people like that

I disagree. I think the 9 year old argument is a great indicator that I already have won this argument ;)

I like the Kendricks signing. Just like cook. He has never had a decent qb to throw him the ball. He was a stud at Wisconsin. This signing just makes sense.

I think Kendricks and Cook are technically a wash, but to also add Bennett gives Rodgers a dimension he has never had before. I think Ted's finally learned from the Patriots model of the dynamic presence that having two tight ends who can work the field make. Rodgers must be licking his chops right now. This is the most potent offense that I can recall in recent memory. Hope all is well health wise but right now we're looking at Jordy, Adams, Cobb, Monty, Bennett, Kendricks - wow.

Agreed, Bennett gives Rodgers the ultimate "safety valve" unlike he has ever had.

Cant wait to see #88 and #83 streaking across the center of defenses, AR has to be smiling!

It is funny though how the signing of just 2 FA's, both TE's, get some fans pumped up again. Had just Cook been resigned a few days ago and neither Bennett or Kendricks, I think the cliff edges might be filling up. Time to go out and sign Barton, Lacy and a CB and we are ready for the draft.

I like the Packers signing Kendricks as he's a decent #2 tight end. He isn't a huge upgrade over Rodgers though.

Yes that's true but I mean that's true for everyone. Since I love Monty as a RB having Guard being the one and only question mark heading into a season is looking pretty sweet to me on offense

The Packers currently have only Montgomery and Jackson under contract at running back for next season. The team definitely has to add at least another starting caliber player at the position.

I really like this new facet of the team. We have 3 very capable TE's and I'm really looking forward to see 12 & 13 personnel in the RED GREEN-ZONE!

The 49ers screwed up and picked Smith instead. After that everyone else was pretty much set at QB and needed a much more pressing need.

Well, my niece is is smarter than two posters here for sure. Your use of your instead of you're and calling her my daughter proves that.

Was Kendricks hurt at the combine when he ran his 40? The scouting profile says he ran a 4.75, but google says 4.57. I'm thinking he's more of a 4.5 guy though.
