Montgomery is not a #1 RB. Nice multi-tool 3rd. down type guy. Love motioning him to the slot against LBs.

Still need a RB.
I agree that he's not a #1 but he'll be a nice weapon for us. If we get Lacy back this offense could be stupid good.

Oh, please. Bennett's a nice signing but Kendricks has not lived up to his billing. It's hardly anything but a wash.

If Kendricks is your TE1, you have a problem. If he's your TE2, you're doing really well. This move is great as long as it's understood in context.

They can do better then Lacy in the draft.

This team doesn't need Lacy right now. He is actually counterproductive to the direction the offense is going.

TBH I'd offer the 2nd round pick first...if they Giants want the 1st I'd make them give me their 4th along with DRC for our 1st.

We're trading a 1st round pick for a 31 year old cornerback and a 4th? Eek.

Monty's not even a running back. He was just used there because Teddy was too stupid to keep more than two true running backs after final cuts and instead opted for seven receivers, three of which just took up roster spots.

Right. If it's Bennett/Kendricks for Cook/Rodgers it's pretty much a wash.

Why would the Giants let DRC go?

To help with the cap. There are talks on their message boards that they may cut him as a cap casualty. I wouldn't let him hit free agency...if that's the case knowing teams like Dallas, Philadelphia, Carolina, Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh are going to be all over him. The Packers won't win a bidding war against Jerry Jones or Arthur Blank.

Lol... when Rodell isn't negative enough for you. Yikes.

It's going to be funny the next time they win a ring and you have to try and come up with a reason to ***** about it.
Obviously you subscribe to Teddy's philosophy that the best defense is a great offense. I won't have to ***** about our next ring because by the time that happens Teddy will no longer be GM.

I disagree. Bennett is a better receiver than Cook and Kendricks is a better receiver than Rodgers. Neither of the latter can block at all. Bennett is one of the best blockers in the game at that position and Kendricks is solid. It's far from a wash.

I agree, I think we're better off investing our money in defense and finding a RB to platoon with Montgomery via draft. Barwin/Levy/Claiborne - please.

Considering alot of people thought he projected better as a RB that's a bold claim. Your TT hate is strong

I Think Thompson has already gone way outside his comfort zone. I can't see him doing it.

Trading draft picks for a vet might give him a heart attack

I subscribe to the philosophy that it's best to assess a roster when it's done being built. And also that a GM that's led his team to the 4th most wins in the league plus a championship is not a total moron. And lastly, that some fans have absolutely no perspective.

I mean unless we take a TE before round 5 maybe, which under no situation do I see happening now, why would we cut RR?

Still on his rookie deal and I'd defy anyone to find a better #3 TE in the league
Yes, He's still a good redzone threat and has very reliable hands. Can't teach that

Cook was actually a decent blocker. Bennett is not as fast as he once was, in evidence if you watched the Pats play. You lose speed in the exchange. We'll see.

I don't think Cook has ever been a decent blocker, but we can agree to disagree. Straight line speed is overrated at the TE position.

Who are these people? Chatroom posters? Certainly no NFL front office people, analysts, coaches or players were saying these things before this past September. Monty doesn't have the body to take the beating of a #1 running back. That's pretty obvious.

Please stop with the "Ted has built ths team into a perrenial playoff team" argument. Under him, the Packers don't sniff the playoffs more than once, maybe twice, without Rodgers. The team's record without him under center proves that. No team is better when they lose their starting quarterback, but I would expect this team to at least not suck without Rodgers.

I was with you right up to the point where you said "realistic chance at playing in the Super Bowl." It's clear that Teddy has no idea what free agency is for, which is no surprise considering he rarely uses it. Until he gets serious about addressing the obvious weakness of this team, no amount of offenseive weapons is going to get them any closer to a Super Bowl.
While I'm confounded by this statement (because I'm 100% on board with getting a veteran in our backfield) I am also very pleased that TT has used FA twice already. This tells me the tide is changing. Let's give him some credit here these are exciting changes and this team will make these guys better IMO (notice I didn't say that the other way around)
These are 2 former 2nd round picks who both have potential in this system.
Let's let TT finish what he's started before we criticize him he's not even done and we have no idea how difficult it is to retain players etc.. I have confidence he's putting together a Championship team.
This is the most out of the box thing I've seen since Guion and Peppers so enjoy it while it lasts. I'd be super impressed if he grabbed a LB or CB veteran tho. This draft class is deep at Corner and I think we'll see TT active with D draft picks 1st/2nd day

"Agree to disagree" is something I just don't do. I just disagree.

Rodgers? Yeah, he's a pretty lousy blocker.

I'm assuming Kendricks came pretty cheap.

I suspect we'll keep RR and were set pat at TE now. This could be a great signing if we find a formidable RB and CB. These are 2 glaring weaknesses right now. If TT sees me and raises me with 1 more solid FA acquisition I'll never say anything bad again :whistling:
