Don't get me wrong, I truly believe Aaron Jones is a great human being. But the only reason he agreed to take a pay cut is that the Packers told him they would release him if he didn't.
That’s not the only reason. He could get paid very well outside of GB and walk away from the Packers. In my opinion he would’ve made more money doing that. So yes technically they planned to resign him at some point do it was a dummy contract (just $13m guaranteed) with an inflated balloon at the end. Also though it’s yes he took a paycut to stay in GB when you factor he could’ve gotten more total $$ total package going elsewhere, plus his residual with us.
Aaron Jones loves Green Bay and Green Bay fans love him right back

Come back to this when we get a future 1st because this old drama queen is gonna play 65% out of spite lol! Watch. It’ll be at 64.9..

Ha. 65% works out to 11-12 games playing all the snaps. As long as he's playing well and the Jets in are contention for the post-seasons, he'll be playing and our 1st is assured.

The conditional basically protects against injury or a mid-season retirement.

2 spots may make a big difference in the first round. I am surprised at what we got. The 1st rounder next year is fairly likely.

Well done Gute!

Man I still say you get a pass rusher. Gary not gonna play right away and when he’s healthy we got a threat in the line.
I would probably go pass rusher if JSN or Paris Johnson, and maybe Darnell Wright, are not available.

If we are going to go pass-rusher in the first round, I would like Lucas Van Ness the most. However, I also like Adetomiwa Adebawore and Felix Anudike-Uzomah, who could be selected in the second round.

YES!

If we get that 1st Rounder?
It’s basically considerable better than 42/43 imo. If we don’t it’s just a shade light

I like this deal it’s good. Not great but good!

Nice JOB BRIAN GUTENKUNST!!

Corey Davis inclusion doesn't change that conditional...LOL at all.
I dunno pal. Would have been nice I agree but I still think it’s a good deal. And if rumoured is true by them paying Rodgers contract, we ***** em IMO

Not really thrilled with having to give up our first round pick, to be honest. Effectively, we're just moving up two spots.

They weren't getting #13 straight up. It's just extra. How many times have we seen a player in the 1st go a pick right before. I'll take the extra 2 slots.

Having said that, I still anticipate them moving down to the late teens range so, the extra 100ish point value should play into that.

They are probably going to cut him anyway. If we want we can pick him up on a cheaper deal.
With the cap relief can we make a trade for Hopkins? Don’t know if I really want to, but would it be possible?

I am really surprised that the Jets didn’t want to wait until draft day to see how the chips fall? But they can still get a good offensive lineman at 15.

This is basically the original agreement with the Packers refusing to do a possible give back in 2025 if AR didn't play in 2024.

Overall I think it's fair on both sides.

Hopkins return would be waaay too much draft capital. Hard no.
