I could wake up in the morning jump on the old internet and catch up on all the Packers free agent activity in 10 minutes and be off doing more important things. Now it take me an hour just to read all the comments on one released player not to mention the ones the new GM has signed.

Ted may not have done much for the Packers but my productivity was a heck of a lot higher when he was in charge.

This has been the most exciting offseason in NFL history, not just Packer history. What TT did, didn’t work. Let’s hope this does!

Here it is the first day of free agency and Green Bay has already been active! Ted would have waited until there was nothing but leftovers, all the crowds thinned out, and sniffed around for bargains.

The Packers won a SB with the talent primarily assembled by TT. Let's not try and change his legacy.

Who got AR on this team?
The stupidity of the other 23 teams who got to pick ahead of us?
TT gets credit for grabbing him when he fell to us though.
Kind of the same way he got Woodson - fell in his lap.

An AR led team should have 3 Super Bowls by now.

While that may be true, to say TT's way didn't work is wrong. I'm glad the Packers are being more active in FA, I'm glad the Packers made the changes they did but there's no guarantee Gutey's way is going to work.

One can make the same argument for every NFL team and all of their player acquisitions.

Why you don't like it, I'm not sure. But the fact is the Packers won a SB with a team using the TT method. And if that isn't a success, I don't know what to tell you. There must be things in your mind that are more imporant than winning a SB.

Should Favre have had more than one title? Absolutely. Was Wolf incompetent? No, not even close. But then, no one's saying Ted was either.

Clearly wolf's method did not work.

I'm just using the same measuring stick you are using on TT. What's wrong with that?

I'm sure if one were to look hard enough, they could find the word "incompetent" used to describe TT on these boards somewhere.

Hahaha, incompetent would be one of the nicer terms used around here to describe Ted Thompson.

Where did I say or do any such thing? Instead of trying to set up gotcha questions, just speak for yourself, okay?

No joke. I'm afraid to get off the computer. I went thru every emotion yesterday. Happiness for the Graham signing, depressed about Jordy, confused about what we paid Graham, over joyed for what we got Mo for. My wife says I need therapy.

Not trying to change his legacy, but his philosophy is outdated in the NFL today. If we still had Ted Thompson, the packers would not be a better team today than they were at the end of last season.

It think it's debatable whether they are now anyways

Well, Favre did come close to a second title - closer than Rodgers has come.
Ted had some success culminating in 2010, and he should get credit for that, but more recently he hadn't been doing so well.

Fair argument and one I can absolutely get on board with.

It's ridiculous to not give Thompson credit for drafting Rodgers or signing Woodson in free agency.
