It's the off-season, I'm in a tractor going 4.1 mph, and I'm bored as all get out...so it's HOT TAKE TIME! Fight me if you don't want this thread mods.

#1. Reggie Gilbert is our #3 Edge and gets 5+ sacks.

#2. Jaire Alexander is our #1 CB by the end of the year (not a fiery super hot take)

#3. McCray is our starting RG and performs well.

#4. Herb Waters makes the roster over either Rollins or House.

#5. We end the year with a top 15 defense.

#6. Aaron Jones is RB1 and has over 1000 yards rushing.

Hey, I'm bored too.....about this fight, when and where and can I bring knuckledusters ?

Not bad.

How about......Quinton Rollins is moved to safety.

Jason Spriggs takes over at RT by season's end.

Montravius Adams emerges as a legite part of the DT rotation.

DeAngelo Yancey makes the 53.

Vince Biegel is a starter by season's end.

Could easily be 0 for 5.....:D
Really would like to see the first two come true. I would love to see someone/anyone step up and make Dix expendable.

While Clinton-Dix struggled at times last season I have a hard time understanding a lot of fans extremely criticizing him. It seems most of them have forgotten about the team being in desperate need of an improvement at safety before drafting him while starting Jennings and McMillian. Rollins definitely wouldn't present an upgrade over him.

out of curiosity - was Dix's poor play after Rodgers went down? I haven't crunched the numbers. Not that it makes it much better, but maybe he shut it down so he could stay healthy.

I just don’t see Dix as our answer at free safety going forward. I think his skill set is better suited as a SS. Just never been very impressed with him. I’d like to see Rollins get moved to FS.

I don't believe Rollins has the range to be a decent free safety, especially after tearing his Achilles last season. In addition I doubt he's got the football smarts to quarterback the secondary.

Which then leaves 'Rollins doesn't make the team'.

Clinton-Dix shouldn't been considered an All-Pro by any means but once again I truly believe he's criticized way too much among Packers fans.
even HE admitted he had a bad year. i still like him but if he doesn't bounce back this year all bets are off. it's a contract year. if he expects to be in the league for any length of time he has to show this year.

I agree that Clinton-Dix struggled at times last season but there's no reason for a lot of Packers fans advocating to replace or even get rid of him.

Agreed and HHCD will probably be one of those guys who walks in Free Agency and has a great career elsewhere. I am hoping that with Pettine running the show, a lot of our younger guys come into their own this season.

Just give King experience. As he needs that. Talented but it is about experience.

With the quality of corner players this team has fielded the last two seasons, I'm not sure it's fair to judge HaHa. He and Burnett were basically the only real NFL quality starters in the secondary, Burnett played the slot for goodness sakes, so I'm willing to give him a pass for last year with the thought that he was trying to do too much.

I think having NFL worthy corners will do far more to help HaHa than any coaching change. That and a potentially great interior pass rush.

We always had worthy corners. Are you under the impression Hayward and hyde suck? They are probowlers after their stint with the packers. The reason for poor CB play has been poor coaching.

I’d have I say that’s decently realistic.

King is talented, but very raw.

Jackson is very raw as well.

Neither Hayward nor Hyde were on the Packers roster last season though.

I get the impression that King is being a little underestimated here. Not only was he a rookie, but played with a long time shoulder injury that eventually cut short his season. There's a lot of youth in the secondary, so there'll be some bumps in the road this season, but I'm excited about the legit big time potential of these guys.

He had his learning moments for sure, but he also made some pretty legit NFL plays out there too. Much of his season was affected by injury and he was out for much of the end, I think people tend to forget what he was capable of earlier in the year in the "what have you done for me lately" nature of the NFL. The only concern I have for him is his shoulder, otherwise, I think he's already shown he has the skills to be very good in this league.

I'm optimistic about the cornerback group entering this season as well. It's definitely realistic to expect some kind of learning curve with the youngsters though.

I agree that King made some legit plays during his rookie campaign but FWIW PFF graded him at a poor 41.0, ranking 115th among all cornerbacks.
