I am a fan of Delanie, but not a fan of signing him. Honestly we have a capable veteran, two guys that have shown promise in Jace and Tonyan...let's add a decent TE draftee prospect. If we are going to sign a veteran pass catcher that may be pass their prime let's do it at WR.

Travis Benjamin
Chris Hogan
Jermaine Kearse
Dontrelle Inman
Jarius Wright

I'm fine with that...they are not someone's dream list...but you didn't catch the part of IF we are going to look at a bargain nearly done veteran TE in Walker, it is my opinion go get a veteran at WR it is a much greater need. We have to be bargain shoppers right now and if we're spending money on a guy to catch passes give me any of those over a 36 year old Walker at TE any day.

How about Dorsett?

My list was guys I feel we could possibly maybe afford...all 30 or older not coming off decent years. I like Dorsett, but we won't be able to afford atm.

I'm a fan of rolling with the TE's we have. Sink or swim with Tonyan and Jace. Sign Taylor Gabriel for a cap friendly deal. WR early in the draft.

Everyone always tacks on the "salary cap friendly" deal term in passing. Sorry Gabriel is not going to be affordable for us at this moment.

Honestly, the more I think on our WR situation....no one knows what Aaron truly thinks of GMo. If I'm Gute I'm going to Rodgers first and get a feel...if he likes him, thinks there still may be something I'm calling GMo and essentially saying look...here's a two year deal, ZERO dead money in year two so we can cut ties if it doesn't work...essentially sign him to a cheap two year prove it deal. I truly don't believe another team is gonna look at him...we have the knowledge, if he is gonna succeed anywhere it is here...and we in essence have very little if anything to lose.

I'd probably wait though a while...let him soak in Free Agency with no phone calls...

Let's make it clear because some struggle with the concept of this: saying the above doesn't make me an advocate of it. It is a thought which if Gute and Co. is having no luck in the WR market either by no interest or not enough money and he doesn't wanna cut folks....this is an option to add someone familiar...had shown promise and flattened last year...very very low cost with potential high reward. I am not a GMo fan personally when asking him to be your #2 or #3....but I truly think he can hit a stride when asked to be that #3b / #4 guy on a team.

I think by the end of your post, you talked yourself off the GMO ledge.

Packers need to move forward with their WR's, not backwards. While I hope they can still find a FA vet WR at a reasonable price AND use a high pick on one, I would rather give the reps to rookies, ESB and MVS over GMO. Allison had 4 years and a golden opportunity last season to prove himself worthy, he didn't, time to move on.

LOL...it is a last resort type thought process I outlined. I'd much rather bring in an aging veteran like Inman than Gmo...IF Gute feels he needs to bring someone in.

Allison is gone.

And good riddance.

Is it me or is this 2020 CB Draft Class superbly underwhelming? I'm definitely in favor of bringing back Tramon because we're going to have to really find a gem in Day 3 to make this group better without using some serious draft capital. We have a good young nucleus in King, Alexander, and Sullivan. We don't yet know what we have in Hollman so I'm not in favor of just pushing him down the depth chart and Redmond is on standby as emergency flexibility. Plus, a better front seven/pass rush will only make this secondary better.

Let's roll with Tramon one more year, and allocate a Day 2 pick in 2021 if the need arises. Besides, Gute is going to work the roster every week. That's how we found Sullivan, I'd be confident he could possibly do the same this summer as well.

This is a pretty darn good cornerback class.

They would be screwed if they waited until next year to invest in the position. King and Williams will both probably be leaving.

Will we? The Eagles just got Slay for two mid rounders. If we're still a win now team next year then give up that capital to get the player you want.

I agree...it may not be TOP heavy but I agree the bottom of Tier 1 and top of Tier 2 is rather deep really. I have quite a few DB's that I love us to look for from 2nd-5th round.

I would rather see the Packers hit CB in the mid rounds of the draft and hope to get a guy that you don't have to use a 3rd a 5th and $15M a year to have. I have been watching too many of these high paid CB free agents under perform their mega new contracts in the last few years. I realize just how valuable the position is, but watching all the dead cap some teams are absorbing as they cast these guys off, lets keep hitting it with the draft and hope to develop the talent.

Agree. CB is growing into a spot like RB I just don't think often times any of the guys garnering over $10M end up panning out. One big post rookie contract and move on...and I'd argue make it a 3-4 year one at most. Jaire is a guy I'm willing to pay to keep but even him I don't wanna see us sign to a 5 year deal...majority just start dropping.

Williams will probably retire next year but I don't see King going anywhere. Especially when I don't think he'll command a large salary.

The top of this CB class is very good. But after that the talent drop off is steep. Like even the Tier 2 guys to me are really comp picks in the 3rd or early Day 3 guys. But we'll see who's right this time next year. I'd LOVE to be wrong though.

And to bring this back around to FAs....he's probably out of our price range but Trumaine Johnson just became available.

Robby Anderson seems to have been backburnered by teams. We should be able to beat the Jets for him. Please let us NOT draft another young WR!

Yes and while I don't have stats and graphics and very well could be wrong, it really seems like for several years the CB market went bonkers in what teams were willing to pay "shut down corners". Sure a few of them panned out, but there seems to be a growing list of these guys now playing for teams other than the one that paid them the big bucks. Off the top of my head I am thinking about guys like Trumaine Johnson, Talib, Norman, Bouye.

I know I'm going to get dragged for this..... But I'd take Damarious Randall back easily for vet minimum to take Tramon's spot at nickel. I think the locker room and the new coaching staff could handle him better. Plus, getting released from Cleveland probably knocked his ego back a few.

The tier 2 guys are late 3rd, early 4th round picks???

C.J Henderson, Jaylon Johnson, Jeff Gladney, Kristian Fulton, Trevon Diggs, A.J. Terrell, Bryce Hall, Noah Igbinoghene?

That has to be the worst take of the draft season, thus far. Whoo boy.

Trumaine Johnson was a dumpster fire last year.

I thought Randall switched to Safety in Cleveland? If his attitude hasn't changed, I wouldn't touch the guy. While I think he had some potential and coaching might have had something to do with his spotty play in Green Bay, I just didn't like the guys attitude. Think he got benched (didn't dress) for one game last year due to an internal matter.

EDIT: Looked it up, sounds like he was benched for a game because he didn't show up for a Thursday practice because "it was too cold".
